Dana shrugged and nodded: “I know what you mean. Thanks to my grand-parents I’m expect to attend quite many myself as well. I don’t mind dolling myself up form time to time, but in general they sometimes tend to be a bit too dry for my taste. Though I have to admit that a lot of people from formal parties can most certainly dance and dance very well. And I don’t necessarily do things myself. I just get lost in some alleyways and into shops most of my friends don’t wander too, whether it be for the slightly shady background or whether they simply don’t know where such stores are.”
Dana eyed Ryder calmly as he stood, nodding as he stated his wish to leave now: “Have fun with whatever you are planning to do.” But could the boy leave as easily? Of course not. Really, in which way did guys minds work? They had met what? Half an hour ago? And yet Ryder had the arrogance to come and whisper in her ear that he wanted her for Christmas. What did he expect Dana to do? Wrap a red ribbon around her head and prance after him to the Gryffindor common room and sit under the Christmas tree there like an obedient little puppy? Yet Ryder’s words did made Dana blink for a moment as she watched him turn and walk away with long strides.
“Are you sure you can afford me, pretty-boy? I’m not exactly the cheapest present you could ask for, Massa Ryd-ah,” Dana called after the boy before he exited the room as Dana let one of the house-elves refill her cappuccino cup. Leaning comfortably in her seat Dana stared into the fire smirking slightly to herself as she enjoyed the peanuts and raisins and the hot cappuccino.
