Sophia stood hesitantly. She was the last person to get a griffin, as she had appeared slightly late, due to lunch going on for so long, and then having to go back to the common room to collect her bags for her afternoon lessons. and it turned out that there were none left-Jaquin had taken the last one. In a way she was pleased-it meant that she may not have to feen one, and they were all so much bigger than herself, that she couldn't help feeling scared, and it was her first COMC lesson, as it is only introduced in the 3rd year.
She tentatively raised her hand. 'erm...professor...I, erm, don't have a griffin-there are none left. She couldn't help fearing Hagrid slightly, as he was a half giant, although she'd heard a lot of nice things about him

Hagrid heard someone tell him that there were no more Griffins left. He frowned at the girl for a second, thinking of what he should do. "Well, why don' yeh pair up with another student?" Hagrid said with a warm smile after reaching his decision. After everyone had successfully approached their Griffins, Hagrid said, "Excellent! That's ten points fer everyone who's got their Griffin under control!" Although it took some time for all the students to get used to the Griffins, they had all eventually succeeded in completing their task. The next step was for them to mount their Griffins because, unlike Hippogriffs, Griffins were much smoother in flight and were much easier to handle; they rarely ever needed to flap their wings to maintain flight because their wings were so much bigger. He continued to instruct the class, "All righty, then. Since almost all of you have successfully approached your Griffins, the next step is ter' mount them an' they might just allow you to fly them 'round the grounds an' back! Now, yeh don' have ter worry about getting lost, 'cause these magnificent creatures know the exact flight path." Hagrid stepped back once more to watch the progress of his students.

"Thanks Mikayla-I really appreciate it!". Sophia smiled at her friend. She now felt more confident, now she had someone to work with.
"So...what do we need to do-just feed it?"
