Leo smiled out the window of her dorm room as she watched giant drops of rain slide down the glass. She loved to watch it rain, especially when she had nothing better to do. It was nearing the end of the her third year at Hogwarts, and teachers had luckily lightened the load of homework they'd been giving out for weeks straight. She was glad that the year was coming to an end. It had been a long one, and she deeply missed Mary and Tommy. She could hardly wait to get home to see them, but was almost positive she would miss Hogwarts while she away. She wished there was something fun to do, before she left. Something she'd remember over the summer holidays. The trees swayed slightly in the wind and the rain beat a little harder down against the school. Leo yawned, become rather bored, sitting alone up in her room. Her eyes swept over the Hogwarts grounds below her, and caught sight of a tiny, floating figure in the lake. Apparently, someone had decided to go swimming. A wide grin spread across her face as she leapt up and pulled off her favorite comfy sweatshirt. That did look like fun. She loved to play in the rain. Swimming in the rain would be even better. She wondered if the person down in the lake was anyone she knew. She slipped into an old tee-shirt and a pair of ripped up jeans, and didnt bother with any makeup, for it would surely be washed off in just a few minutes.
Leo walked out the main doors of Hogwarts, into the pouring rain. Immediately, her long dark blonde hair was drenched, but it felt good, especially the water droplets falling down her cheeks. She sloshed through the muddy grass toward the lake, and for the first time, noticed two other people whom she did not recognize, standing along the edge. Leo smiled at them, just as the girl in the lake shouted, "So, what are you waiting for?" . "Mind if I join you?" Leo asked with a laugh, "That looks like a lot of fun."

Dresden looked at Stryder with a serious expression."Yes, I'm a half-blood. You're right about the melting. See this scar?" Dresden pulled up the sleeve of her school uniform and pointed to a scar on her forearm, which she had got when her and her brother had been stick fighting a couple years ago. "This scar here, was from when I was 8. A drop of rain fell out of the sky and hit me on the arm. I started to sizzle and melt. I had to run for it before it started to poor." Dresden pulled her sleeve back down."Lucky for you though if you like tea. I turn into a pile of sugar."
Dresden laughed as Maryn pointed out that they all had different blood lines. "Well, I think that technically I'm more...possibly 1/4 blood? The only person in my family that I know of that had magic was my Oma. My dad, her son, wasn't born with magic. I was too awesome for it to skip. " Dresden laughed."I don't believe in fate or destiny though. I think you create your own fate, that there is no one set path."
Dresden watched with Stryder as Maryn started to take off her uniform. She went over to a small cliff beside the lake and jumped in.Dresden went over to the cliff and looked down. It wasn't a long way down, but enough to make Dresden nervous.
Dresden turned to another girl who had just shown up. "Yeah of course! I'm just trying to decide if I want to go down there or not. What do you think, you up for it?", she asked Stryder.
While Dresden waited for Stryder to answer, she introduced the three of them."I'm Dresden, this is Stryder, and that down there is Maryn."

Maryn laughed floating in the small waves. Sometimes she could be so mysterious and crazy, but that was just Maryn. She liked risks, well as long as they weren't life threatening. She looked up and watched as Dresden was deciding to come in or not. She didn't know if Dresden or Stryder were spur of the moment kind of people. Maryn liked being crazy sometimes. Other times, she knew it wasn't the time or place, but Maryn felt like this was the perfect time. The rain was pouring a bit harder now and Maryn was completely drenched in fresh water. Maryn laughed up at Stryder and Dresden. "C'mon Dresden!" She called. "You only live once!" Maryn floated on her back for a bit still waiting for them to jump in. Maryn kicked around a bit trying to keep herself floating. She was a pretty good swimmer, but anything could happen in this murky water. Maryn even knew of the giant squid that lived in the lake, but she had heard that it was kind and saved people from drowning. And the merpeople lived at the bottom and grindylows wouldn't appear unless she was in the dead center of the lake. Maryn was safe, but she hoped the other two would join her. It would make the moment way more fun.
Maryn laughed as another girl showed up. She squinted her eyes to see who it was. Maryn could hear Dresden introduce everyone. She looked up at the girl making out who it was. "Hey, Leo!" Maryn called giggling. Leo was a fellow Gryffindor who Maryn shared a dorm with. They had also been in classes together for years. Maryn heard Leo ask if she could join. Maryn took her hands and clapped them making water move a bit. "Yes, please. The more the merrier!" Maryn called. It was sort of hard for her to hear them, but she could a bit. Maryn waited for the girl to jump in as she looked at Stryder and Dresden. "C'mon you two!" Maryn laughed before she turned placed her face in the water and swam down a ways. Maryn had good vision so it wasn't hard to see everything even though the water was a bit murky. She wondered where the giant quid was. Oh, well. Maryn then resurfaced and waited for the others.

Maryn called to called up to the two standing on the cliff again, and that was all the encouragement that she needed. Without waiting for Stryders reply, she started to take off most of her uniform until she was standing in her skirt and an undershirt.
Dresden moved back so she was a couple meters from the edge of the cliff. She looked at Stryder and Leo."Well, see you at the bottom!" Dresden started to run, and jumped when she got to the edge. Bringing her knees up, she hugged them to her chest so she could do a cannonball.
She reached the water just as Maryn resurfaced, splashing water all over her. When she came back up from under the water, she laughed. She treaded water as she used her one hand to wipe the water from her eyes. "Well, atleast you're already wet!", she said to Maryn.

Stryder thought about the fact that it was a muggle born, half-blood, and pure all together. Stryder had come up with another way for his father to kill him. Stryder smiled at the thought of the look on his fathers face if he saw him. Stryder would be known as the boy who gave shame to the last name Stalk. He had followed Jeff's footpaths. Soon the Stalks would be a joke to other purebloods, and that's exactly what Stryder wanted.
Stryder laughed when Dresden mentioned her near to drowning experience. He looked at her scar wondering what it was really fun but not caring enough to ask. There were more important things to talk about, though Stryder didn't really know what to talk about. He hated to admit it but things were getting boring. Stryder started to think about what excuse he was going to give to leave. Sure he liked Maryn and Dresden. They were fun to hang out with but right now he just stood there and listened to them talk. Silly girls always having to talk. Stryder thought to himself as Dresden explained her true roots.
"Stryder how about you? I hear that the age of sixteen if the time of your life so I'm just curious if thirteen can be too."
Stryder was going to answer Maryn but all of a sudden she started taking off her clothes. Stryder had no idea what she was doing. Does this having something to do with having the time of your life? Stryder wondered as he watched Maryn take off all her clothes except for a shirt and a skirt. Man Drew is going to be jealous when I tell him this. Stryder thought to himself as Maryn ran over to a cliff towards the lake. Stryder should have realized what she was doing. He did it all the time with Drew, just not really when it rained.
Stryder laughed as Maryn jumped in. He wondered if the water was cold or warm, most likely cold. Stryder would jump in though, he was spontaneous like that. He couldn't believe that Maryn had beat him to it though. Man this girl is something else Stryder thought to himself as he walked with Dresden over to the cliff. He was about to jump in with everything, including his shoes but he was interrupted with a new voice. He turned around to see Leo, a girl in his dorm.
"Mind if I join you? That looks like a lot of fun."
The rain was falling down harder and Stryder heard noises coming from Maryn. He couldn't understand what she was saying but he ignored her. He looked at Leo. She was in the same house and grade as him. He had known about her since his first year. He had never talked to her though. Not even in class. Stryder smiled as Dresden introduced him and Maryn. She should know both of them though. Well for sure Maryn and she probably had heard about Stryder, she definitely had to recognize him though.
"Go ahead Dresden. I'll be in, in a bit."
Stryder said as he started to take off his socks and shoes. He realized that he would be dead if he dragged water throughout Hogwarts. As Stryder took off his shoes he looked down at Dresden and Maryn in the lake. Then he looked up at Leo. Stryder had had a crush on Leo his first year. He knew nothing about her except her thought she was really pretty. Stryder wasn't sure why he had had a crush on her his first year.He just had. It was only for a week and then Stryder realized that he liked Catrina instead. Stryder was surprised to see her there, especially since he barely ever saw her and never talked to her.
"So Leo, who's going in first, you or me? Or should we go at the same time?" Stryder said as he placed his shoes and socks over with Maryn's clothes. He decided as well to take off his shirt, for no particular reason except for that he was a boy and he was allowed to do it.

Leo grinned down at Maryn, floating at the waters surface, squinting up at her through the now heavy rain. She'd always seemed to be a fun person, a lot like Leo. Both a little crazy, Leo maybe a little too much at times, but at least she never had a dull moment! Leo had an odd personality, she was outgoing and confident, but she had a quick flared temper and strong opinions she stubbornly defended no matter how wrong she was.
"Hey Maryn, Hows the water? " She shouted in response to Maryn, and watched cheerfully as Dresden jumped into the lake with a splash. Leo was just dying to get in there and plunge head first into the waters icy surface. Leo had a knack for acting upon her sudden impulses, whether or not it was a wise thing to do. She stepped back a bit brushing her long hair out of her eyes, ready to run and jump, when she realized that Stryder was still there, taking off his shoes and his socks. Unlike Maryn, she had never really talked much to Stryder, but she had definately wondered about him. He had seemed a bit full of himself from what she had picked up during classes and throughout the years, though he also seemed to be nice from what she could tell so far. She decided to wait for him, when he asked her who was going to go in first. She watched him pull off his shirt with a tad bit of embarrassment, before regaining confidence, answering him her usual upbeat tone of voice.
"Oh definately at the same time." Leo said with a wide smile, holding out her arm for Stryder to link onto. It was much more fun to jump in with another person than alone. "Lets get a running start!" She said enthusiastically, stepping back as far as she could get from the edge. She scooped up her long blonde hair with her free hand and tied it into a sloppily done pony tail.

Stryder looked over Leo while he took off his shirt. He wasn't sure what had attracted him to Leo, it must have been her hair. Stryder was a big 'hair' boy and especially like the color blonde. The only problem with that was that Hogwarts girls knew all kinds of spells to change their hair color which made Stryder's view on girls change a lot. When he really liked someone he didn't judge them on their appearance, on personality, but appearance was a major plus. Then again Stryder had always told Drew that he would never date an ugly girl. Stryder hadn't met that many ugly girls at Hogwarts though so it was easy to say.
Stryder looked as Leo seemed embarrased when Stryder took off his shirt. He was a little confused. Hadn't she seen a boy without his shirt on before. The thing with Stryder was that he actually had a nice body, well for a thirteen year old at least. He had big muscles from ranch work and his stomach was muscular as well. He didn't have a six-pack yet because he was going to wait until he was older. He though it would be a little to weird if he had one at this age. Stryder had always liked his body, he never felt insecure about himself which was part of the reason he got alone with people. Sure he knew that people thought he was cocky but when they really got to know him they realized that he was all words and not action and that he cared deeply for his friends and other people. Stryder, though, still couldn't figure out why Leo was acting like she hadn' seen a boys' body before. She had to have had a boyfriend before.
Stryder didn't really know Leo all that much. She was in his classes his first year but he didn't talk to her. They had sat next to each other once and Stryder thought she was really pretty. During his first year though Stryder wasn't as good with people as he was now. He never talked to her but acted goofy around her in classes. He had gotten over her quickly when Catrina came in the picture but he would never forget her being his first official crush out of the many. Stryder was happy that now he would finally get to know the famous Leo. If Drew was ther ehe would have cracked up. Drew had teased him all the time about Stryder never talking to Leo but still liked her. He always said "How do you know that she's not really evil inside? Looks aren't everything." If you could eat your own words, Drew would have to eat a lot of them.
Stryder was glad that she had decided to go in at the same time. It made things much more fun. Stryder and Drew would always jump in at the same time, they would see who would hit the water first. Stryder was surprised though when Leo linked arms with him. Stryder smiled and didn't resist. He watched as she put back her hair and suggested them getting a running start.
"Of course but you're going to have to try your best to catch up with my running skills." Stryder said as he went backwards with Leo. He looked at her and smiled before taking off at a run towards the end of the cliff with Leo next to him. He jumped, still linking arms with her, and fell through the air. Stryder loved the feeling though it only lasted for a couple of seconds. It felt like he was flying, without a broom, just flying. The feeling died quickly though as the link broke when the two hit the water's surface creating a huge wave. Stryder felt the water go all over his body, it was refreshing. He soon reached the surface to see the girls next to him. The rain was falling down hard around them creating small ripples everywhere. The moment couldn't have been anymore perfect.

Dresden watched as Leo and Stryder jumped over the edge of the cliff. She was happy the others seemed to be the kind that acted on impulse. She liked that in a person.
Dresden dived underwater just before the other two landed. She knew the wave would be huge, and even though she was already wet, she didn't want the wave to hit her.
Dresden swam under the water with her eyes open. She could see the other threes legs kicking at the water. She swam over to Leo's and grabbed hold of them, pulling her underwater, and swam down a bit.
Dresden let go of Leo's legs and swam up, breaking the surface of the water, gasping at the air.

Leo laughed as Stryder said she'd have to keep up with his so called 'running skills'. She remembered finding him quite amusing in class with his seemingly cocky remarks. Cocky was a bad thing, but he pulled it off well, Leo thought as they began to run forward, arms linked, at high speed for the edge. With the familiar, peculiar sensation of dropping straight down from a high place, Leo and Styder crashed into the waters surface, the ponytail ripped from her hair from the force of their fall and plunge into the lake. She swam up and took a deep breath of air, her hair swirling around her in the churning dark water. Leo looked over and smiled at Stryder as he too came up.
"We made a huge wave." She said, and used her hands to splash him playfully in the face. She grinned at him and Maryn, suddenly realizing that someone was missing. Dresden. She turned her head around, searching for her, when she felt something grab her legs. She took a deep breath of air as she was pulled underwater, and felt the grip release. She swam up, panicked, and saw Dresden smiling at her. Leo splashed her with the water, laughing.
"You scared me for a minute!" She said and dove underwater with a gulp of air. She grabbed one of both Dresden and Stryders legs quickly, and pulled them under just as she had been. She broke the surface with a gasp, and hurriedly swam out of reach beside Maryn, before either of them could get at her again. The rain began to pour harder down on the four of them, beating against the lake like tiny round pellets. Leo was struck with a sudden idea. "I never came up, okay?" She said to Maryn with a devious grin, and quickly dove under the water, swimming away before Stryder or Dresden could rise for air. She reached the side of the cliff, out of view of the others, and began to climb up the edge, her wet clothes stuck to her body, rain dripping into her green eyes.

Stryder knew that Leo was in for a surprise when he noticed that Dresden had disapeered, she was definately up to something. Stryder smiled at Leo and watched as she suddenly went under water. He laughed and looked over at Maryn. Stryder swam over to her waiting for Leo and Dresden to emerge. The rain was coming down harder and it felt nice.
"This was a great idea Maryn." Stryder said before splashing the girl with water. He laughed but then suddenly found himself under the water. He hadn't noticed that Leo and Dresden had resurfaced. Stryder pushed himself up and kicked to get the air. That had taken him by surprise. Stryder finally reached the surface and looked around at Leo to splash her. Stryder looked to his left, no Leo, he then looked to his right and behind him, the girl was no where to be found. Stryder nodded his head and looked at Maryn.
"What is she up to?"
Stryder asked with a raised eyebrow and he dived under the water. It wasn't until he was under the water that he realized that looking for Leo wouldn't work out to well. You couldn't see a bloody thing under the water, it was murky and plus it was dark outside, making the water darker. Stryder moved his arms around trying to feel something. He grabbed someones leg and swam up hoping he caught Leo, the uncatchable fish.

Dresden splashed water back at Leo, laughing too, as if it was a contagious plague and she had caught it too."I scared you did I? Some people would be glad if I never resurfaced!"
Dresden watched Leo dive underwater. It was hard to see where she had gone, but she knew the answer to the question as she was pulled underwater. After all, the water where they were wasn't deep enough for the grindylow, and she was sure that the mer-people weren't the kind that drowned Hogwarts students out for a swim in the rain.
Instead of coming up right away, she swam under the water until she could no longer hold her breath. Breaking the surface and taking another gulp of the wonderful air, she looked around. Only Maryn was in her sight, until Stryder broke the water again. He looked around and confirmed what Dresden had already decided. Leo wasn't there, and she was certainly up to something."I have know idea. Maybe she's gone to get a fishing rod for a delicious mer-burger later on?"

Maryn laughed as Dresden jumped in just as she resurfaced. "Thanks." She laughed spitting the water from her mouth. Maryn splashed Dresden playfully as she looked at the two still on the cliff. Leo asked how the water was. "Peachy keen. Come in!" Maryn called with a cheerful squeaky voice. Maryn giggled as Leo and Stryder jumped at at the same time. The rain was falling harder, but Maryn didn't care. She love the feeling of water. She couldn't explain why, she just did. Maryn floated on her back for a moment enjoying the moment while it lasted. Maryn laughed at Dresden grabbed Leo's legs scaring her. Water and people were a funny combination. She layed on her back still watching the girls. Maryn couldn't help but laugh more as Leo pulled on Stryder and Dresden's legs under water. She then watched as the girl dove under and then got out and started to climb the cliff. She didn't know what Leo's plan was, but it sure did seem funny. Maryn shrugged at Stryder as he asked what Leo was up to. "She never came up." Maryn shrugged jokingly.
She hoped Stryder and Dresden wouldn't worry too bad. She didn't know what Leo was up to, but she hoped that Leo wouldn't act like she drowned or something like that. She watched as Leo climbed knowing that the others had no idea where she was. "Man, that girl has a large lung capacity." Maryn joked. She splashed water around for a moment before becoming bored. Maryn started to tread water for a moment before she just gave up. She then turned and dove under the water hoping Leo wouldn't execute whatever prank she had in mind very very soon. Maryn swim deep, She liked to see how far she could go. She just swam deep for a moment because she liked that. Maryn continued to swim the deep waters before she took a breath and dove under again liking the feeling of swimming far under the surface.

Leo's bare legs scraped the surface of the rock as she heaved herself upward to the top of the cliff. She took a deep breath, squinting against the rain, and finally pulled herself over the edge. She waited a moment, breathing deeply from the climb, and peered over the cliff down at the others. They seemed to be at a loss for where she was. She grinned to herself, and attempted to pull back her long, sopping hair. Leo closed her eyes against the rain and smiled. She was going to miss Hogwarts, and all of the people in it. But as always, she would return after the summer, and be wishing she'd never have to do another peice of homework again.
Leo sparked to attention as she heard Maryn's voice, carried by a soft wind, tell the others that she never came up. That was her cue. Leo stood and backed away from the cliffside, giving herself a good distance to make a running start. At highspeed, she charged forward and plunged into the air. "CANNON BALL" she shouted over the heavy rain and broke the waters surface right infront of the others faces. She knew they would'nt have expected that, which was why Leo found it to be so funny. She had a knack for doing things that others didnt expect. Leo stayed under a moment longer, enjoying the swishing and churning sensation of the water around her, and then came up with a deep breath, struggling to tread against the quick currents and tiny waves.

Dresden looked up as she heard someone scream 'cannonball'. Leo had somehow managed to climb up the cliff in the short time they were looking for her, and jump off it.
She hit the water with a splash, sending the water into Dresden's face, leaving her gasping for air. She quickened the movement of her arms and legs to stay above water, waiting for Leo to come up.
Maryn had gone under the water before Leo jumped, and had yet to resurface. "Nice going Leo, you killed Maryn!" Dresden swam in a circle, looking for any sign of her. She caught sight of her head come up for a short second before it went under again.

Stryder reached the surface once more to find someone else gone, this time it was Maryn. Man I must smell like Drew or something, all the girls are hiding from me. Stryder thought to himself just as he heard CANNONBALL coming from the ever to famous cliffs. Stryder turned to watch Leo jump off and do a cannonball. The water drenched Stryder, he was surprised that such a small girl could make such a big wave. Once the waves were over Stryder felt his drenched hair. He looked at his wrinkled fingers and started wondering how long they had been in the water. I must have been at least an hour. Stryder was going to ignore the time but then he realized that he had been drawing right before anyone had come out, right before it rained.
Stryder then realized that his drawings were still by the rock, uncovered, and now soaking wet. Stryder didn't' turn to the girls, he instead dove and swam towards the shore without an explanation. Stryder reached the shore quickly, he was after all quite a good swimmer. The second his feet touched the sand he began sprinting towards the rock he had left. Stryder got to it and found his drawings just as he had left them. He picked up the supposed to be lake drawing which now looked even worse then before. He didn't care about that one though. Stryder quickly opened the rest of his portfolio to find all of his drawings wet. All of his work was ruined. Stryder sat on the floor and threw his drawings on the floor, they were one of his best. He then realized that the girls must be wondering about him. He walked over to the trashcan and threw his portfolio away, well he thought he did, they instead fell out around the trash while the boy walked over towards his clothes near the willow tree.
