Drawing by the lake ((Flo))

Leon looked at Flo. He had never met her brother, but as she said it it rang a little bell. Then Flo asked about himself, and he answered with a small sigh.

"Well, May is old enough to come and has had the letter, but latley she has been very ill, so couldn't have come this year. Though she may come half-way through if they let her." Leon grimaced. He loved his sister dearly, and it pained him to see her on her bed, white pale face and stick-thin limbs. He remembered when she was about five, and had snatched fromthe counter top the cookie jar. It contained eleven cookies, and she had two for herself then gave the rest to Leon. He smiled at the thought.

Oh thats so sad! Flo thought to herself. She hated to hear if someone was sick, or hurt. When her Friend, Rosaliz, had a party, she got hit by a car. Flo was very upset that day.

"Oh Leon thats really sad. Is she going to be ok?" Flo asked Leon, hoping he would say she would be. Flo didn't even know her, but she was still upset.

Flo reacted exactly how Leon kenw she would, and Leon smiled at the fact. Flo was fun to be with- you never got bored, and she came out with extremely funny random sayings. Her major want to be a butterfly made leon laugh inside, and he cheered up when she talked. Smiling at her anxiousness for someone she had never even met, Leon answered with a happier tone.

"Yeah, she'll be fine. She was born a month early and ever since she's had these odd seizures about once every two years. The cure is easy, but she misses school and fun because of it. You'd like her though-she's always quiet around strangers, but once you get to know her she is really lively and fun. Oh- and i have a baby brother, Matt. He's just annoying, so we can move away from that subject!"

Leon grimaced again, this time at the thought of his brother. He had forgotten the other half of the cookie story. Once Leon had his nine cookies, Matt had cried like mad, making Leon's mother come over. Seeing the cookies in Leon's hand, she had told him off and given them all to Matt. Leon remembered the little evil grin on Matt's face as he ate the chocolate-cookies, and narrowed his eyes.

Flo was glad to hear that his sister was going to be ok. But this is how Flo was. She would cry for complete strangers. "Oh thats good." Flo replied. Then Leon said he had a little baby brother. Flo laughed when Leon said he didn't want to talk about him. Thats excactly how Flo felt about her brother.

"So, what else do you do, other than Draw?" Flo asked him. there were lots of other things that Flo loved to do, other than draw. Flo mostly drawed when she was bored, or had nothing to do. So she mostly finished he drawings, during classes.

Leon thought about the question. He wasn't quite sure about an answer. At home he loved to swim- he could race his dad and easily win, and was a great diver. Saying just as much, Leon thought about other things as well.

"Other than drawing- well, i love to swim at home. I love quidditch too- my favourite sport...erm, i like to read hang out with friends, and although i don't like doing this, it happens- trying to tame my cat. My life isn't the fullest you could find! How about you?"

Leon laughed at the thought. His life certainly wasn't the fullest you could find, but he had fun doing everything- even trying to tame Zaphani. His cat would not be tamed, but both of them enjoyed the chase.

"Oh i dont bother to tame Squibbles. Lazy fat cat." Flo watched a leaf fall to the ground. She picked it up, as she told Leon what she liked to do, outside of drawing butterflies, and wanting to be a butterfly. "Well, I act sing and dance, thats when im at home. Here, not much to do really. Annoying my brother is fun, untill he gets me back." Flo twirled the leaf, then dropped it, watching it fall to the ground.

Leon grinned.
"Yeah, that's always a problem. When they get you back. I.e.- stealing your cookies!" Leon smiled, chuckling. He watched as the brown leaf dropped from Flo's outstreched hand, which was swathed in Leon's blue jacket. As the leaf fell, a black shape ran from a nearby tree, sprinting towards the leaf with amazing speed. In one singluar motion, it snapped up the leaf in it's sharp jaws, somehow chatching it before it hit the ground. Leon stood up in shock.

"Zaphani! What are you doing here you stupid idiot?" Leon couldn't help grinning though. After Zaphani realised the leaf was not very tasty, he picked his way towards Flo. Then, to Leon's obvious amazment, he mewed sweetly at her and nudged her side, rolling onto the ground to his tummy to be rubbed. Leon sat down, open mouthed. "That is amazing. He never, ever acts nice to people. Never. Not even me!" He gazed at his cat in annoyed amusement. "Zaphani, meet Flo. Flo, Zaphani."

Flo watched as the cat raced up at full speed. As it caught the leaf, Flo's eyes went wide. As Leon yelled at the cat, Flo looked at him. " Is that cat yours? He's very quick." As the cat made its way over to Flo, she smiled and put her hand out to pat it. "Hello kitty!" Flo watched as the cat rolled around. "Aww!! So cute!!" Leon said the cats name was Zaphani. " Hello Zaphani." Flo held up the little cats paw, as if to shake it.

Zaphani was obviously pleased with the attention he was having, happy or not. The latter in Leon's case. Zaphani- the two year old cat, had been with Leon since he (the cat) was born, but for some reason liked the person who he had met only twenty seconds before better. Scowling, Leon reached out a hand to his cat, hoping that he wouldn't bring up the old scars again. Zaphani walked-no, strutted over to Leon, sniffed his hand, then rubbed against it. Leon nearly fell over.

"Why- how can this happen? Never in this scoundrel's life has he been kind to anyone! Did you....cast a spell or something?" Leon knew it was a random question and the answer would be no, but he was so shocked it just came out. "For two years i've been with him, and all he has ever done is scratch me!" As if experimenting, Leon picked up Zaphani in both arms. The sleek black male licked his nose delicatlye, sat for a little moment then jumped out back to Flo. Leon's eyes widened.

Flo laughed and continued to pat the cat. When Leon asked if Flo had put a spell on the cat or something, Flo sarcasticly made shifty eyes and said, "Maybe, maybe not!" She grinned and watched as Leon picked Zaphani up. "Maybe Zaphani just likes the coldness?" flo had forgotten all about how cold it was. She was too busy having fun.

Leon grinned at Flo's little act. "No, that's not it i'm sure. Where we live there are almost frozen winters...i think he met another cat...you know...'female'." Leon smiled oddly. His cat had never really met any other cats, as they lived away from other people and his sister and parents had owls. Confused, Leon sat down aand turned to the pictures of Zaphani in his sketch pad. In each picture, he had the same cold, hard stare. Looking back at Zaphani now, he saw a friendly happy look. How odd, thought Leon. He pointed it out to Flo.

Flo bent down to play with Zaphani. She got back up to look at the drawing of Zaphani. "Hey, it looks like a total diferent cat." Flo laughed and played with Zaphani again. suddenly, she saw something lounging about near a tree. Flo sat straight and looked at the figure. he had a feelng it was her cat, Squibbles. "Squibbles!!" Flo called to it. "I'll be back." Flo stood up and walked to the lazy fat cat. "hey Squibbles, what are you doing here?" Flo asked, piccking him up. She walked back to where Leon and Zaphani were. "This is my cat Squibbles!!" She hoped that her lazy fat cat wouldn't hurt the odd mood changing Zaphani. Or the other way around. Flo put Squibbles down. He walked over to Zaphani, and turned his head, as if to say, "Who are you, and why are you with my human?" Flo sat down and smiled at the cats.

Leon watched as Zaphani froze. The blank male looked at the other cat with something like fear in his eyes, then scarpered to hide in Leon's arms. Leon laughed- he had never, ever seen Zaphani scared before. Slowly, he dropped the cat to in front of Squibbles, letting them meet. In defiance now, Zaphani ran to behind Flo. Once again, Loen grinned.

"Aww, he's scared of Squibbles! I wonder why!" Leon went over to Flo's cat, stroking the little furry head affectionatly.

Meow. Well Squibbles looked like he was having fun. Unlike Zaphani, who had hidden behind Flo. "Kitty! its ok!" Flo turned around and picked Zaphani up, and then placed him on her lap. "See? Squibbles is being nice to Leon!" The little cat looked at her. "Go say hello." Flo put Zaphani next to Squibbles. Squibbles looked at Zaphani. Zaphani looked at Squibbles. This didn't look good.

Sighing, Leon tried to hide his laughter. However, he was highly unsuccessful, ending up laughing like mad on the grass. It was just so funny- first, Zaphani hates all living things. Then, Zaphani loves all living things. Next, Zaphani is scared of them. Righting himself, he looked up to see the two cats staring at him with an odd expression on the furry little faces. "What?" Leon questioned. As if in answer, both cats turned around at the same time, walking to the edge of the lake where they sat down. Leon was amazed. It was though the whole world had gone upside down! Looking at Flo, he grinned again.

"Ok, those are the two oddest cats i have ever seen." He stated.

Flo watched the cats, a very confused expression was the face Flo had on then. She watched as they walked to the lake. "Don't blame me, i haven't seen the fat cat since yesterday." Flo assured Leon. "They look like they have know each other for years." Flo looked back at the cats, now,eying off a little bird flying near by. Squibbles started to run, as if he was about to attack the Bird, but darted back. he kept running around in circles. "Stupid cat! He doesn't exercise unless he chases after butterflies, and thats hardly ever, because i yell at him when he does!!"

Leon laughed a little again. Not and outburst like before, but still laughed. Of course, he could thoroughly imagine Flo scolding her cat for chasing a butterfly, and grinned at the thought. By now the little bird was nearer to Flo and Leon, with Squibbles following closley behind and Zaphani looking bored in the background.

"That doesn't look like a normal bird either- i think it's a baby owl! Awww, don't let them get it!" Leon rose from the grass, running quickly towards the owl. It was flitting around hopelessly, now and then dropping a little lower as it's wings began to fail. Just in time, Leon caught it as it gave it's final, hopeless flap, catching it just before Squibbles swiped. He brought the owl over to Flo, and loked at it. It seemed as though the left wing was broken- for it was bent in a highly odd way.

Flo watched as Leon ran over and caught the bird. Oh good he caught it! Flo thought to herself. Leon had brought it back, and the two cats followed, as if to say sorry. "silly cat!!" Flo frowned and looked at the owl. "Aw! you poor thing!!" Flo was sad again. Evil cats.
"Is it ok?" Flo asked, hoping Leon would say yes. Their wasn't a vet in the castle, unless Madam Promfrey had a second talent.

The little owl fluttered helplessly in Leon's hands, and he sighed. "It won't last much longer i'm afraid. I can think of one spell to use-" At this, Leon took out his wand. As he did so, he felt the little owl go unconcious. Sitting down on the grass, he told Flo it was had lost conciousness then pointed his want again. "Enervate!" He said clearly. Straight away, the little owl sprung up, then fell back down as it felt his wing wasn't yet healed. Leon looked at Flo.

"I just took back it's conciousness, but all i can do now is give it bandages." He did so, pointing the wand again and speaking clearly- "Ferula!" Several white bandages whipped out from Leon's wand, wrapping themselves gently around the owl's wing.

Flo watched as the little Owl struggled."What? It can't die! Don't let it die! I wont!" Flo stood up and walked over to Leon, and the poor little owl. "Don't die!" She whispered. She watched as Leon bandaged up the owl. "It's only a baby! It cant die" Flo repeated. "We have to take it to someone. We can't just leave it!" Flo watched as the little owl hooted slightly.
