Brook woke up late, as usual, and didn't make it to breakfast. She decided she would just go to the study lounge and do her work, because as always the Ravenclaw common room was loud, noisy, and annoyingly full. She pulled on some gray sweat pants, a white T-shirt, and grabbed her work bag as she headed for the lounge.
When she was a few feet away from the door she heard a few girls voices, sighing she went in anyway hoping they didn't get much louder so that she could still concentrate. She walked in and saw three first years, one she recognized was a Gryffindor ( Danielle Pewter). She just ignored the noises and sat down and pulled out all of her stuff so that she could complete her potions essay.

"Oh I know!" Mikayla replied about that Greenday comment. "They rock!" Mikayla shouted making the rock on sign with her hand and waving it in the air. "Oh, sorry.." Mikayla said realizing what she must have looked like. "Wow that embarassing." Mikayla said embarassed she felt her face turning red. "So lets move away from that subject..." Mikayla said jokingly. "What else should we talk about?"
Mikayla looked in the room there were a quite a few people in the room now and saw a couple people she knew but they were at work so she didn't say anything to them, she just waited for a response from her friends. And watched as a fellow Ravenclaw entered the room she looked like she was about to do some work so Mikayla just decided not to say anything to her, unless she happened to ask her a question.

"Well we could talk about...umm wait a sec. Who is your favorite teacher? Mine is Professor McGonagal since of course she is the head of my house. Oh and what teacher do you hate I mean dislike the most? I personaly don't like Professor Snape. He's really scary and his classroom is always so cold!" she shuddered slightly and looked around. Then she spotted Brook, she looked like she was working on something and didn't seem happy. "Hey you guys!" Danielle whisperd, though loud enough so others could hear. "I think we should try and be quiet." she stood up cleared her throat then called out to her, "Hello Brook!!". Then Danielle ducked down behind the chair so she couldn't see her. She giggled slightly and stayed in the same position. "Is she looking?" Danielle asked still giggling.

Katie-May was just about to answer the two girls before her about her favourite colour and band, when someone else entered the room. Danielle dubbed the girl, calling her Brook, and Katie-May smiled. “That’s Brook?” She asked the other two. Brook had met her brother and May looked forward to meeting her, as she had heard something about the girl. Smiling, she rose from her chair and gracefully walked over to the Ravenclaw. She sat close-by, and began to talk in a friendly tone, with a smile on her face.
“Hi Brook! I’m Leon’s sister, Katie-May. He said to me you’ve met before. Would you like to join us?” She waved an absent minded hand at the little group she had been sitting with. “We don’t mind if you don’t want to though- you’re probably busy, god knows Leon is, and you are in his year.” She smiled again, then paused.

Danielle watched as May walked up to Brook and talked to her. Slowly she got up. She walked up to where they were standing and stopped. "Sorry 'bout that. I ate too much chocolate today." As soon as she said that she burst out laughing. After calming herself down she got more serious. Sitting down across from Brook she looked at theparchment that she was writing on. "Are you writing an essay? I was too but I gave up and threw it in the fire. Fire's so pretty and so is water. I've petted water once you know. You'd think that's impossible but I did it." she smiled brightly at her.

Brook looked up as she saw Danielle and a girl who she thought was Leon's sister. And then sure enough the girl introduced herself as Leon's sister."Hi! I really don't mean to be rude, but I really do have loads and loads of stuff to do because after this I have a whole nother essay to write for Proffesor Binns. So I might join you guys later. Oh and hi Danielle!" she said.

Mikayla wathed Katie-May go over to the girl and introduced herself. Mikayla just new the girl was going to be busy doing something. So she didn't bother to go over there. She looked down at her notebook remembering a dream she had meant to write down. She got busy. Then sure enough she overheard the girl tell them that infact she did have a lot of work to do.
Mikayla looked up as she heard a weird noise. She didn't know what it was but she wasn't in the curious type mood to see what it was. She got back to her writing.

Brook looked over at the other little girl sitting by the fire, she wondered who she was. But she would find out later, for now she needed to concentrate on her Potions essay and her other essays for History of Magic and stuff. She hated being as rude as she had sounded, but she had more than just essays to do.
She started writting again and as she picked up her parchment she spilled ink all over it, and she had forgotten the spell that made that ink that just spilled off, but leave her writing on. She looked up "Do any of you remember the spell that will get the ink off this page but leave what I wrote on there, I forgot because I have been so stressed over other work." Hoping they had an answer she looked back at her parchment which was getting even more soaked with ink.

Mikayla watched as Brook spilled the ink all over paper and asked for who knew how a spell to get the ink off."Evanesco" Mikayla said aloud. She walked over to Brook and Katie and Danielle. She waved her and and said the word "Evanesco!" And with a wave of her wand the ink was gone. "Oh yeah who's good.." Mikayla began chanting and dancing around. "Thats the first time I have tried that spell and I got it right on the first try!" Mikayla said Merrily. Mikayla always got spells wrong the first time and sometimes the second time and third.. Mikayla decided to get her mind of of how many times she would mess up before she made herself depressed.
Mikayla then calmed herself down. "Oh, sorry for barging in like that the spell just came to me." "I had over heard what was going on with the ink and all." Mikayla turned around and got back to her work.

"Thanks uh....what is your name?" said Brook to the younger Ravenclaw. She wasn't sure who this girl was but thought she seemed pretty nice, like almost every other Ravenclaw she knew. If you were in Ravenclaw you were supposed to be nice, smart, and clever. Brook didn't know if she fully qualified for the whole ''smart'' part but she was nice most of the time and could be clever when she wanted to be.

Katie-May grinned as Mikayla came over, perfect timing, cast the spell, and sat back down. It was so Mikayla! The tiny jig she performed afterwards made May giggle happily, then answer Brook still giggling.
"....hahahaha!...that's *snort* Mikayla!" She couldn't stop laughing! It wasn't just Mikayla's dance making her laugh now, just the fact she had just snorted. Heplessly she leant on a nearby chair and hoped she wasn't making a fool of herself as she laughed uncontrollably.

Mikayla walked back over as soon as the girl asked whats your name."My name is Mikayla Killingraff R1" "Sorry about that I've been working on getting spells right so it was exciting for me to get it right on the first try." Mikayla offered so that the girl wouldn't think shes a total spaz. "May" Mikayla said with a look on her face like the kind of are you okay look. "Sorry if I'm bugging you, I can see you are busy.." Mikayla lookd around the room. There were a couple other people in there now.
"I haven't seen the student lounge this busy.." Mikayla commented randomly. "Everytime I come in here there are only but two or three other people in here." Mikayla looked back over as Katie-May was still laughing.

Danielle watched as May burst out laughing. Smiling she talked. "O.k. going mad aren't we?" She walked over to her seat and sat down shaking her head. Trying not to laugh she stared at the fire untill her eyes burned. Rubbing them she got up and walked back over to them. "So... are you guys done yet? People are starting to stare." she whispered. "But then again," she stated loudly, "maybe they just don't have manners." She then thought of all of the other people looking like mokeys. Laughing she waited for someone to talk.

"I think we are!" Mikayla said giggling while watching May crack up. Mikayla looked around people were starting to stare. "Her face is turning red!" Mikayla said accidentally shouting. "Whoops.." Brook listened to them strart cracking up becaus eof something Mikayala did. She didn't think it was as funny as they were making it out as, but she went along with it any way. "It is fine and uh... thanks again" said Brook looking down at her parchment again. She put her stuff in her bag and then got up and went to the great hall where she could have lunch.

As Brook left May stopped laughing, an upset look on her face. She looked to Danielle and Mikayla, unsure of what to do. "I think we scared her off!" She said in a small voice. She looked around- people were leaving the room from around them, and May began to giggle a little again. "And everyone else! Ahh....I think we need to stop randomly laughing!" May smiled, then sat back down in her chair by the fire.
"Oooohh, Christmas soon! What do you think you are going to get?" As she said it, May wondered about the question herself. What did she want? She hadn't thought about it at all, and checked through her mind rapidly. She really wasn't sure! Which was odd for May, as she was often organised present-wise. Last year she had written out a neat, simple list of things she only needed, as was suffering from her illness then. At the mention of her illness, even though it was to herself, May shrank in her seat and kept quiet.
