Dark-out ((sadie))

[Rosaliz Hernandez G6]

It was late at night, when Rosaliz locked up her store. She heard something, it sounded like pacing footsteps. She looked around to her surroundings. Diagon Alley was complete vacant, to her except the moon’s light piercing down, illuminating her face giving a her scary-looking appeal. Rosaliz started to walk, being very tired of a job well done. She made tons of money that night selling things. She continued to walk, with the wind howling in her ears. She than heard foot steps around her, not knowing again were they came from. All of a sudden she bumped into somebody. She looked at the girl; she noticed it was a hufflepuff from Hogwarts. “Sorry” Rosaliz said, helping the girl up from the ground. “I didn’t see you there, well partly since it’s dark out.” She said, waiting for a reply.

" I think it's my fault, I'm sorry." Sadie said apologetically. She had been wondering around Diagon Alley, looking for the shop her dad had told her to find. She just didn't realize it was so late.

" I think I'm in the wrong place, even though this is where I was told to look for someone." Sadie said out loud not thinking. She suddenly realized that the girl was standing there still.
" Oh, I, uh, kind of spaced out. My name's Sadie. Do you go to Hogwarts, too?" She asked.

“Yes I go to Hogwarts. As a matter of fact I just finished my first year, even though I joined at the last month, being a new kid and all. I decided to repeat my first year again.” Rosaliz said smiling, even though it was probably too dark to be noticeable. “Who are you looking for anyways?? Maybe I can help, you” She said looking at Sadie, waiting for a reply.

Sadie dug around in her bag for a moment, and pulled out a picture. " This is the woman I'm looking for." The lady in the picture was a tall slender woman, who looked sort of like Sadie, but older, and much harder. She had blonde hair instead of red like Sadie's, and brown eyes.

" My mum and dad got really sick while I was away, and I guess they didn't survive the illnesses, I came home to find a letter, and this picture. The letter was written by my dad, and it said that this woman is my aunt, who owns a shop around here. The letter said near here, so I figured that it would have to be here somewhere. But I have looked all over the place and can't find it any where,"

Rosaliz looked at the picture. She recognized the women immediately. She said “I know where her store is fallow me” She ran and ran as fast as she could almost tripping over her own feet. She trusted her own instincts, to get around Diagon alley even though it was dark out. She knew where to go anyway since she knew the place by heart. She heard Sadie’s footsteps panting behind her. Rosaliz saw a distant light ahead, thinking that was the place. The store lights were on. Rosaliz walked inside, the store was quite clean, but vacant except for a guy behind a counter. She ran up to the guy saying “may I speak to the manager of the store?” The guy then said, “I’m the manager, may I please help you?”

Rosaliz said in a whisper to Sadie “This isn’t right. Your aunt is the manger of this store.” Rosaliz said, “Thank you, very much”. She then grabbed Sadie’s arm and dragged her out of the store. After they were out in total darkness, Rosaliz said, “That guy, is a death eater. Do you think he took her or something because I saw your aunt this afternoon, in the store.??” Rosaliz was quite frightened but she was 95% sure she was right since she heard her aunt scream earlier, during the daytime. Rosaliz then waited for Sadie to answer back, to her thoughts.

" From the stories my dad had written in a diary about my aunt, she's probably a death eater herself, but I have no where else to go. See my dad's family was pureblood, and didn't like muggles, or blood traitors. My dad didn't have very many magical talents, so they outcast him. That's why he married a muggle woman. Then they had me, as far as I know they could have been cursed before they died. That could have been why they were so sick, cause the last letter my dad wrote me was about my mum. He didn't mention himself anywhere in it, then I get home, and find another note." Sadie stopped suddenly, she didn't realize that she was babbaling again. She was glad that the girl was willing to help her though. " I'm greatful that you wanted to help me, but I don't know what to do now. I just wanted to meet her, and see if she knew someone in my dad's family that would allow me to stay with them, just through the summer." Sadie said again

Rosaliz's heart pounded when she listened Sadie mention about, death eaters. It reminded of her father..who joined Voldemort, before she was born. All she knew that he was a death eatter and didn't even want to know about her. Rosaliz was suprised, that her aunt was a death eater, 'then why did her aunt scream during the afternoon this day' she thought asking herself. Rosaliz said "I don't mind to help you look for her, even if it takes all day and all night. I have notthing else, much better to do." She said with a smile across her face.

" Thanks, I don't know my way around this part of Diagon Alley very well." Sadie said. Rosaliz seemed like a very nice girl, and Sadie would have to remember to speak to her once they started school again.

Sadie began thinking again, 'I wonder what my aunt is like.' But her thoughts were quickly interrupted. She thought she had heard someone walking behind them.

Rosaliz stood in quite for a minute. Then she heard footteps behind her. She turned around. She couldn't believe what she saw. Professor Dumbldore. "What is he doing here? anyways he just the perfect person to help." she told Sadie. Eosaliz called out his name but he seem not yo here her. Rosaliz tried again. But then she noticed he was swalloed into complete darkness 'how stupid am I, of course he couldn't hear, since was walking to the other direction.' she thought. Rosaliz turned to Sadie and said, "well I have an easeir idea. Fallow me."

Sadie had noticed Dumbledore, but wondered if he might be too busy to help the two of them. Before she had the chance to say anything to Rosaliz, she had told Sadie to follow her. Sadie did what Rosaliz asked, and then turned and asked a question herself. " What are we going to do?" Sadie said wondering. She knew that there was a good chance that the two of them couldn't catch Dumbledore.

Sadie continued to follow Rosaliz, still unsure of where t hey were going.

Rosaliz kept running. She wasn't runnig after Dumbledore. She was running to her owl at, the leaky cauldron. "I'm going to send a letter, to my father he'll know wher your aunt is, since he's a death eater to." she said on the top of her lungs.
Rosaliz took out a peice of parchment and her quill.

she scribbled
'dad I need your help. Where is the aunt of Sadie young. you kow what to do'

She rolled up the parchment and said to her owl "send this to daddy o.k.?"
In a matter of seconds the owl was gone in the sky.

"Now it's a matter of waiting" she told Sadie...hey while were're waiting do you want to look at your aunt's dairy?

" I didn't know my aunt kept a diary." Sadie said surprised. She did want to look at it, she needed to know more about the muggle side of her family, but she didn't want to invade the woman's privacy.
" I'm not sure if we should look at it or not. I mean wouldn't it be like an invasion of privacy." Sadie said a little worried about it.

Sadie didn't know what else to do though. She wanted to know more about her family, and this might be the only chance she got to find out.

"I'm not sure if we should look at it or not. I mean wouldn't it be like an invasion of privacy.” she heared Sadie say. Rosaliz didn’t want to say anything. Rosaliz noticed that Sadie was thinking. She stood there, trying to let her eyes adjust to the dark even more. After a minute or two, Rosaliz heard flapping wings. She looked up to the sky. She saw her owl, diving down towards her. Rosaliz then grabbed the parchment, which her owl had. She noticed that it was the same one she sent but with a reply on the bottom of it. Rosaliz started to read it out loud. “She’s in Diagon alley some where, we Hogsmeade hiding, we’re not sure were she is, but we’ll find her.” Rosaliz read this. She grabbed Sadie’s arm and started running. We need to get to a muggle train station there, as fast as we can. I know the way,” She said screaming on top of her lungs.

Sadie had no choice but to follow Rosaliz. She almost fell when Rosaliz took off running. " Why do we need to find a muggle train station?" Sadie yelled wondering what was going on. Sadie didn't understand a thing that was happening right now, because it was all happening too fast. But maybe she would be able to understand when someone was able to explain things to her.

Rosaliz said "I'll explain when we're on the train." She ran and ran. Her legs felt tired but she let her spirit take her. Finally when she made it to the train station, she got on the train, still having a hold on Sadie's arm. Rosaliz stood there catching her breath. "Sadie, your aunt's in Hogsmeade, and the fastest way is by magic, but since we aren't to use it out of school, transportation is the fastest. We are going to look for her, but I tell you this, that I know. My father uses little words, but I understand. If we find her, I'm not saying that we are, she could be in a matter of states...this what I mean is that we could find her in two ways, alive or dead." Rosaliz stood there looking at other people not wanting to look at Sadie. She was to afraid to see her reaction.

Sadie didn't seem too surprised by what Rosaliz had said. She had never known her aunt, and was only looking for her because her father had told her too. " So, if she's dead, that's just one less death eater to deal with. I'm sorry I know your dad is a death eater, but I believe that death eaters had something to do with my mother and father's death." Sadie said. " And I have never met my aunt so I don't expect much of her anyway." Sadie didn't look at Rosaliz, she was afraid that she had hurt Rosaliz's feelings, and she didn't really mean too. She just wanted to get to the bottom of what had happened to her mom and dad, why had they died so suddenly.

Rosaliz didn’t mind what Sadie said about her father, since it wasn’t the point that they were on the train. As soon as the train came to a halt, Rosaliz grabbed Sadie’s arm again and ran out of the train. She ran out of the station. She ran even more, all the way to Hogsmeade. She stood at the gates of Hogsmeade, and opened them. They gave a small creaking noise. She walked ahead, not knowing what she was going to find.

" Umm.. Are you sure that this is a good idea?" Sadie asked Rosaliz. She had never been to Hogsmeade of a night, and it was really spooky. Even though Sadie was unsure of what would happen, she followed Rosaliz through the gate.

Hogsmeade looked totally creepy at night, but it felt a little familar, sort of like Sadie had been there before. Although she couldn't remember ever coming to Hogsmeade. She was too young to be here on school visits, and if her dad had brought her, she would have been too young to remember.

"Don't worry" she said answering to Sadie's concern. Plus it's night everybody's a sleep. My dad is around here he'll protect us. Rosaliz spotted her dad. Still with the hold of Sadie's arm she walked towards him. Rosaliz introduced Sadie. "Dad, this is a friend from school, she needs to find her Aunt." Rosaliz's dad nodded as if he understood. Go look for her and if you need me you know what to do he told her. Rosaliz fallowed her fathers request and started to walk around with Sadie loooking for her aunt.

" Where should we start to look for her?" Sadie asked Rosaliz. She wasn't as frightened since she had gotten in the gates. Sadie still had that familiar feeling of this place, but she didn't understand why. She had never been here before, not that she could remember anyway.
