Bee walked into the Leaky Couldron only to find it very busy. Bee wanted a room to stay since she didnt have anywhere to go. She couldnt even stay with her friends anymore. Her mother was always in her dreams, her nightmares. Bee, lost in thought, accidently ran into the person in front of her. "Oh, sorry about that, sir," Bee said as politly as she could. The man just grunted to tell Bee that it was ok. Bee decided to go ask Tom if there was a room open. She asked that bartender where Tom was and the bartender told Bee he was busy. Deciding not to stand around, Bee took a seat at the bar. It looked like she was the only student from school in the whole pub. She was watching a woman with crazy hair talk to a man with no hair. It's not polite to stare, Bee reminded herself. Bee decided to look out the window that was near the door instead. Suddenly, the door opened.

Caiest looked in the bathroom mirror to check her appearance. She looked fine better then she had a minute ago. Someone had accidentally broken something in charms and started bleeding very badly. It wouldn't have been so bad if the girl hadn't been next to Caiest. A very little known fact about Caiest was that she was hemophobic. Meaning she has an irrational fear about blood. Caiest couldn't stand blood not large amounts of it anyway. If she were to get injured while sword fighting and she ended up bleeding she would be okay because her mind wasn't on the blood. But for some reason blood terrified her. So not bothering to ask for permission Caiest bolted out of the classroom and to the nearest restroom so she could hide out for the rest of the period.
After pulling her hair back into a ponytail and splashing some ice cold water onto her face Caiest decided that hanging around the castle was a bad idea. Too many people. So checking to make sure the coast was clear Caiest made her way out of the castle and headed to Diagon Alley. She had thought about going to Hogsmeade but that was where every student went when skipping.
As she entered the Leaky Cauldron she noticed that it was by far busier then usual. Not that she minded as long as no one talked to her unless she talked to them first things would be okay. Looking around she noticed another Hogwarts student. She looked about Caiests age though she wasn't in Caiests house. Well she could be Caiest was never in the common room but she was pretty sure that the girl wasn't in her house. Caiest walked up to the girl and sat down across from her. "Couldn't take the school life either?" She asked setting her stuff down on the floor.

Bee noticed that the person who was walking in was a girl about her age but Bee didnt think she was a Gryffindor. She seemed to be looking around the room when she noticed Bee sitting there. The girl walked over to Bee and sat down next to her. When the girl asked Bee if she couldnt take the school life either, Bee smiled. "Yeah," Bee said. "I didnt feel like going to any classes today. So I just came here instead." Bee knew this was a lie in a way. Bee had just walked in a few minutes ago but she had been in Diagon Alley all day long. A cold breeze came through the door as another person entered, moving Bee's long, blonde hair that was in a messy pony-tail. Bee couldnt help but study the girl. She didnt seem to be a Slytherin but you can never tell Bee thought. Deciding to ask the girl, Bee gathered as much corage as possibe and asked: " Um.. Just out of curiousity, what house are you in?"

Lavender left Flourish and Blotts with a vague smile on her face. In her bag she had three books, An Advanced Guide to Divination - vol. III, Magical Me! by Gildery Lockheart and finally her diary. Lavender had kept a diary since the age of 8 and she had made at least one small record of every day. she had dozens of books full of her thoughts hidden in the cupboards and under the floorboards of her bedroom. She wrote every feeling, every thought in them now and if anyone were to find them she didn't know what she would do. Crossing the busy street Lavender made her way toward the Leaky Cauldron for a nice butterbear. Although it was spring Diagon Ally was cold and there was a strong breeze which caused papers and owl feathers to fly this way and that, littering the streets. Lavender began to jog at a steady pace and continued along the footpath until she reached the pub. The air inside was warm and smoky. A fire burned in the hearth on the far wall and created a ridh woody smell which mixed with the scent of food cooking in the kitchen. Lavender noticed a couple of fellow students at the bar she she made her way toward them, weaving through the crowd of tables and patrons. "Hi there. " Lavender said in a friendly voice, "I hope I'm not intruding..."

Bee looked around as another breeze swept through the Leaky Couldron. She couldn't see anything through this crowd. She was still staring around, trying to catch a glimpse of who came in when someone spoke right beside her. It gave Bee such a scare she almost fell off her chair. She turned around and then laughed as the girl said that she hoped she wasn't intruding. It wasn't a mean laugh, it was a laugh if something funny had come along. She didn't laugh for long though; she didn't want to hurt this girl's feelings. She grinned at the girl.
"No, you aren't intruding at all. You just gave me a scare and that was why I was laughing." Bee looked up and down at the girl, trying to remember her name. She had seen her in the corridorrs once or twice before, but they had never actually talked to each other. This girl looked older and Bee knew she was a Gryffindor because she had seen her in the common room as well.
"Uh, sorry, but....what's your name? Not to be rude or anything, it's just right now I can't think of your name....." She grinned at the girl and then asked for a butterbear. She looked at the girl waiting for a reply, when she remembered that she hadn't introduced herself yet.
"Oh and my name's Bridget by the way, Bee for short. I'm a Gryffindor third year." Her butterbear came and she drank it thirstly, still watching the girl.

Lavender smiled at the girl as she laughed. She seemed friendly enough. "Oh sorry! I'm Lavender. Lavender Brown:)." Lavender extended a hand for the girl to shake while with the other she paid for a butterbear. She had seen this girl, Bee as she introduced herself, in the common room a few times. "I'm in sixth year..."Lavender pointed to the crest on her robes, "Gryffindor. I think I've seen you around. the common room." Lavender shifted her gaze to the other girl with Bee. She was about 14 Lavender guessed and her black hair was pulled back in a ponytail. "Hi! Lavender brown, Gryffindor sixth year. What’s your name?" Lavender asked. She was always happy to meet new people and already she had met two today. Yes. Today was a good day.
Lavender placed her shoulder-bag on the floor beneath her bar stool and took off her cloak. The fire on the far was emitting fierce heat and she was getting a little hot in the black woollen garmet. She pulled her long hair over one shoulder to keep it out of the way and took a sip from her bottle of butterbear. Lavender loved Butterbear since the first time she had tasted it on her first trip to Hogsmeade. It warmed her entire body and Lavender was thankfully she had taken off her cloak. "Excuse me, sorry, but could I please have a glass to pour this into?" Lavender asked Tom, the innkeeper politely. Lavender believed strongly in values and she was always making an effort to be polite. Even of someone was being rude to her. She faced the two girls by the bar, waiting for their replies

Bee smiled at Lavender and then started drinking out of her butterbear. It warmed her whole body and she welcomed the great taste. She shook Lavender's hand and then looked around the bar. No other students were here, which in a way, was a nice change. Bee was startled to see that a lot of these people seemed young, at least 20 or 21.
She smiled at Lavender and then looked back at the girl who had joined her a few moments ago. She didn't know the girl's name either. She had forgot to ask. Boy, am I getting rude or what? Bee thought as she drank some more of her drink. She grinned at Lavender as she pulled off her cloak.
"This butterbear sure it tasty." She said in a friendly tone. She had just felt like saying something.

"MMMMMMmmmmmmm" Lavender nodded. as she took a sip from her glass. "It's my favourite drink. This and chinese tea." Lavender smiled. Hopefully she could make a new friend here in the leaky cauldron. This was fun. Sitting here and just relaxing. She hadn't done that in a while. Studying most nights was Lavenders plan. She wanted to be a lealer at St Mungo's and she couldn't do that by sitting around. Healer had to be very intelligent and it was very difficult to get that kind of job. Lavneder opened her bag to look at her purchases. Not only did she have her books in the gold embroidered bag, but it also contained a few bottles. Lavender took out a few of the bottles and placed them on the abr in front of her. Mugwort, Sweet Orange, Jasmine, patchouli, Rosemary and finally, Lavender.
Taking the the bottle of Lavender essensial oil in her hands she unscrewed the lid and inhaled the rich aroma of the lavender herb. She then held the bottle under Bee's face, "Smell ... It's beautiful. Lavender is very uplifting. A psycic protector. Oh and my favourite is..." Lavender unscrewed the lid of another little bottle, "Jasmine. So sweet. Did you know that the chinese jasmine is one of the best breeds of Jasmine? They always pick the Jasmine from the Chinese Jasmine plant at night when they are using it to make the essential oil because Jasmine always smells stronger and sweeter at night. Nobody knows why. Perhaps it's the power of the moon and I'm rambling aren't I ... Sorry." Lavender smiled sheepishly at Bee and took another sip of the butterscotch beverage in front of her.

Bee smiled at Lavender. The bottle of Lavender and Jasmine smelled great! Bee's mind felt at ease here, she didn't feel like she had to struggle to do work or study. She was just relaxing, drinking her butterbear. Bee laughed when Lavender said she was rambling.
"Maybe just a little. I don't mind though so don't worry about it. Those do smell really good! Since your a sixth year, just out of curiousity, have you decided what you want to be when you grow up?" She smiled at Lavender. Bee guessed that Lavender would want to be a Healer, but she wasn't sure. Bee had thought about being a healer, but right now, she wasn't really worried about her future. Just the present.

"Well at first I thought of becoming a teacher, but then I thought I'd have to put up with all those annoying students there are in schools these days. So I went back to my original idea from when I was a young child. I want to be a healer like my grandmother." Lavender spoke wistfully, thinking of her kind grandmother who had passed away last year. "She used to work at St Mungos. She delivered me when I was born. We were close before..." Lavender broke off. She was getting upset about her grandmother's passing. Lavender was a very emotional person and she was always thinking of others. Sometimes this made her more upset and now Lavender was holding back tears. "Never mind." She said quickly wiping her face. "So what are you doing here in Diagon Alley?"

Bee watched as Lavender's face went from friendly to sad. She guessed that something had happened to her grandmother that was a healer.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset." Bee said quietly, as Lavender wiped her face. Lavender's question about what Bee was doing in Diagon Alley made Bee sit up straigter and think. She didn't really know what she was doing in the Leaky Couldron.
"I guess I just wanted to get away for a little." Bee sighed and then added, "Sometimes it's nice to go somewhere you haven't been in a while, you know?" Bee gave her a small smile. She felt bad that she had made Lavender upset. She felt as though it was her fault. She knew it really wasn't, she hadn't meant for Lavender to feel bad. But still...Bee decided to get on a new subject.
"Just out of curiousity, how come you're here in Diagon Alley?"

Caiest smiled as the girl introduced herself as Bee and asked her what house she was in. "I'm a Ravenclaw. Oh and I'm Caiest. Caiest Raven nice to meet you by the way." She said. Just then another girl came over. This girl was older then the both of them and she introduced herself as Lavender Brown 6th year Gryffindor. Caiest nodded in acknowledgment and made the introduction again. She sat there as the two discussed drinks among other things like perfumes. Caiest wasn't really able to get into the conversation as she didn't have a favorite drink and she didn't like to shop so she wouldn't know the difference in lavender scented perfume to Jasmine scented perfumes. So Caiest just sat there silently and watched as the two girls talked. It was something she was good at.
When the subject got to what Lavender wanted to be when she grew up Lavender looked like she was going to cry. Caiest guessed that the sixth year was probably trying not to so Caiest went along with the subject change Bee had brought up. "Yeah why are you here in Diagon Alley instead of classes?"

"Well," Lavender siad, now recovered from her sadness, "I don't have any classes at the moment. I came here to get some books for study, to pick up a few things, windowshop and to get away, like you said, Bee." Lavender smiled at her new found friend here and then at Caiest who she was keen on getting to know. "I like to come here. I like shopping, but not to buy fashion items or hair clips. I like to come here to buy magical items. Or to wish I had the money to buy them. I'm thinking of applying for a parttime job at madam Puddifoots tea shot in Hogsmeade actually. I could do with the money."
Lavender sat in slince for a few moments. She wanted to here what the other two girls had to say...

Caiest was glad that Lavender took to the subject so easily and seemed to be a bit better. She wouldn't know what to do if she had cried. Caiest was not the comforting type so she was extremely relieved that she wouldn't have to prove it. Lavender mentioned shopping for magical items and thinking about getting a job to buy said magical items. "A job? Well if you want that would be nice. Personally I don't think I could deal with all the people that come into that shop. If you want magical items just come to me. My parents are artifact hunters. They send me tons of magical stuff as compensation for the fact that they are never around. I could give you half the stuff around here for free." She said this matter of factly like it didn't matter. Caiest would never admit this of course but it did bother her just a little at least.

"I'm very sorry to here that..." Lavender spoke sympatheticaklly ansd she placed a hand on top of Caiests. She had a feeling Caiest wasn't the touchy type according to her aura. Lavender knew that this witty Ravenclaw woult prabably pull her hand away in an instant, but she wanted her to know she cared. "Well I might take you up on that generouse offer one day." Lavender smiled warmly at Caiest before turning to Bee "So what do your parents do for a living?"

Caiest grimaced. She hated it when people took pity on her. She didn't want it and she sure as hell didn't need it. Caiest didn't say anything as she pulled her hand away. She hoped the girl didn't take it personally it was just that Caiest wasn't the type of person who liked a lot of human contact. Especially from people she'd just met. "I hope you do take the offer. Half the stuff they give me I end up throwing out or giving away anyway it's not like I need the stuff." She said writing her address on two pieces of paper and handing one to Lavender and one to Bee. "My contact info if you ever want or need something owl me and I'll do my best to get it to you. Well I need to be going so I'll see you all later." She said grabbing her bag and leaving.

Bee listened to their conversations intently; she didn't really feel like joining. She couldn't say anything about her parents. She just couldn't. When Lavender asked her the question she had been dreading, Bee forced herself to answer. She had to get over it. She just had to. Bee saw Caiest get up and leave, which didn't make Bee feel much better. She looked up at Lavender, took a sip of her butterbeer, and started talking. "My....Dad..." Bee said in slow voice. She wasn't sure how to put this. "My-my dad, he coaches college football. He's a muggle." Bee added. She wasn't sure if these two even knew what football and college was. "And...my...mom..." Bee's voice started to waver now. She took a deep breath, willing it to stop. She tried again. "My..er..mom, she-she wanted to be an inventer or a teacher. She never-never," her eyes were tearing up, she couldn't help it. She had to get over this. Her mom had died when she had been twenty-one, very young, but she was kind to Bee and Perry. It had made it all the harder when Marge, Bee's mom, had died right before Bee had gotten her letter to Hogwarts. She looked at Lavender and, hoping she would understand her situation. She hoped she wouldn't question her any farther. She couldn't finish her sentence. She just sat there, wiping her face on her sleeve, waiting for someone to change the subject. ((Sorry about that emotional break down. Bee still has a very, VERY sore spot where her mom use to be in her life. Hope you understand! ))

Lavender smiled and waved at Caiest as she left, "Bye." She turned back to Bridget who was getting teary. Lavender wandered what was wrong when her mental question was answered. Lavender hugged her new friend warmly when she told her that her mother had passed away, "I'm so, SO sorry!" Laveder said, "Next time I'm so insensitive slap me in the face or something. I didn't mean to make you upset." Lavender knew what it was like to loose a loved one and she knew the pain that was experienced when people braught the subject up.
She decided it would be best to change the subject as quickly as possible. "Hey," She said, jumping to her feet, "What to you say we go to florence fortescues Icecream parlour and get ourseves two icegream sundays with the lot? I think we could both use some comfort food at the moment."

Bee smiled weakly at Lavender, trying to pull herself together.
"It's ok, really. You didn't know...." Bee trailed off hopelessly. She was so glad when Lavender changed the subject.
"Sounds great!" she said with as much enthusiasum she could muster. She really did want to go; she still felt a little bad though. She stood up and drank the last of her butterbeer, which seemed to help her.

Lavender smiled warmly at her friend. She drained her glass of all that was left of the butterbeer in it and lead the way out of the pub and into Diagon Alley. The sky was blue and the sun shone brightly, warming the many witches and wizards who lined the streets. Apart from a cool breezed any previous gloomy weather had disappeared. Perfect. Lavender held her friends hand as they made there way along the street to the ice-cream parlour. She halted at a flower shop and purchased a bunch of beautiful white lilies. After paying one galleon and five sickles to the witch at the counter she spoke to Bee "For you," She said handing them over to her friend, "I didn't mean to hurt your feelings." Lavender smiled at Bee as they made there way once more at a casual pace along the street. "So do you have any pets at all?" she asked Bee, hoping that none of Bee's pets had died recently.
