Evan was sitting to breakfast when her grandfather appeared in the grate before her, “Grandpa!” she said excitedly as the old man dusted of some ash from his robes. A few seconds later, and with the flick of his wand he was as good as new. “I’m almost done,” she said as she tried to stuff a bit of toast in her mouth, “Don’t rush yourself deary, we have all day. Take your time,” he said as he took a seat across from her. Evan was thirteen, and like her sister, she attended a very special school, for very special people, wizards and witches. She finished her toast and then popped a strip of bacon in her mouth, she chewed quickly, in a hurry to get going. “Okay, all done,” she said and almost hopped out of her seat, she ran to the sink and washed her hands. “Let’s go!” she said happily, causing her grandfather to smile.
Today the pair was off to Diagon Alley to buy Evan’s school supplies for her third year and she was thrilled, she adored shopping with her grandfather. “Alright then, let’s go,” Matthew said, and threw some Floo Powder in the fire, got in and said, “Diagon Alley!” and disappeared. Evan did as her grandfather had done before her and disappeared in a puff of smoke. When Evan looked again she was rushing passed grate after grate that led to one place or another, she made sure to keep her elbows tucked in to avoid another bruise from hitting passing grates. Finally she was there and she landed on the floor in Flourish and Blotts, the bookshop on Diagon Alley. Matthew quickly used his wand to clean her up and they were off. “Shall we get my books first, since we are here?” she asked, he nodded his head. They both looked at the list and each took half and went in search of her books. A while later, after manoeuvring through the crowd trying to get books, they met back up at the cashier and Matthew paid for them.
After Flourish and Blotts, they visited Madam Malkin’s, the Apothecary where Matthew picked up a few things and finally Eeylops Owl Emporium, where Matthew purchased a new snow owl.
Everything being done, Matthew treated Evan to lunch in the Leaky Cauldron, but she was not ready to leave just yet. “Could I go walk around by myself for a while grandpa?” she asked with her brightest smile. Matthew new it was coming, every year, including her first year, she wanted to feel grown up by walking around and going into shops by herself for a while. “Very well, you have an hour and a half and then be right back here. “Thank you,” she said and ran out of the Leaky Cauldron, while her grandfather ordered a firewhisky.
Evan went in and out of shop after shop, she spent quite a bit of time in Eeylops looking at owls, and then she made her way back to Flourish and Blotts. Evan found herself a reasonably quiet corner on the second floor and picked up a book called “The Hags: A Must Read!” she was reading comfortably, thinking that this was a great beginning to the new year, when a thump caught her attention.

"Savannah dear, are you sure you don't want me to come with this time?" Came a woman's voice from the kitchen. "No mom, I can manage by myself this time, I don't have many things to buy this year, just a couple books. Everything else I can use from last year" Savannah replied as she sat on the couch watching T.V. and eating a fine southern breakfast of grits, scrambled eggs and bacon.
Finishing her breakfast, Savannah took out her wand and prepared to clean her plate but again realized she was no longer allowed to use magic. Grumbling she got up and went into the kitchen to wash off her plate in the sink. "Mom, how come I can't use magic yet!? I'm 16! If I was at Salem I'd be allowed to use magic at home by now!" Savannah said as she stuffed her plate into the dishwasher and finished her orange juice before setting the glass in the dishwasher as well. "Now you hush Savannah Aimme! You hear? We've been over this since the day we got here, you aren't at Salem, you're at Hogwarts. You have to abide by Hogwart rules. Now we'll have no more talk of this, you hear me?" Jennifer Johnstone was a tradition southern woman, and a firm believer that rules were rules and that was that. Nodding her head, Savannah grabbed her coin purse and walked off to the fireplace and took a handful of Floo Powder. "I'm going mom" she said as she tossed the Floo Powder into the fireplace, in a flash she was gone.
Twisting and turning Savannah soon emerged in the owl shop. Looking around she sigh in disgust, not where she had intended to go first. Walking out of the shop she brushed her blue robe off and shook the ash from her long black hair. Pulling her list from her pocket she had five books to purchase, but she'd first have to make a withdraw as these books would surely cost more than what she had in her purse. Slowly walking through the streets of Diagon Alley she watched everyone with a curious eye as shopkeepers opened their stores for the day's customers. Only a handful of students where in the Alley so early in the summer but that figured, of course most people wouldn't bother to come here until the last minute. That was the whole objective of Savannah coming now, crowds annoyed her greatly.
Upon entering Gringotts, Savannah withdrew some money from her family vault then began the walk down another street towards her destination, Flourish and Blotts. Along the way she was distracted by the stationary store that had just gotten a new shipment of quills and inks. To someone like Savannah who was always writing a story or drawing a picture, this proved to be a store she couldn't just walk past. 20 minutes later, Savannah emerged from the stationary store with three new quills, half a dozen bottles of colored ink as well as a pack of blue and black ink, four new writing journals and a new drawing sketchpad.
Lugging her bag down the street Savannah once more took out her wand and prepared to cast a feather weight charm on the bag but again stopped and grumbled at the stupid underage wizard magic law. Switching the bag from her right hand to her left hand, Savannah soon arrived at Flourish and Blotts. It took quite a bit longer than she had expected to get her books as one of the store workers had informed her that the school books were packed away still. "Give me your list and I'll go get your books for you, they're all in the back storage room still" a worker told her. Handing over the list Savannah looked around the book store. Walking through the aisles she found very little that interested her, for wizards they sure didn't have very many good stories and novels. Moving into another aisle she spotted a girl at the far end of the aisle reading a book. Walking closer it turned out to be Dorian's little sister, Evan. "Hey Evan" she said as she walked up to her but the girl was simply to enthralled in her book to hear. "What are you reading?" Savannah again asked but still was ignored. Frowning at the little girl, Savannah picked up a heavy book from the nearby shelf and tossed it down at Evan's feet creating a loud *THUMP* that ought to get her attention.

Evan jumped as the book hit the floor near her, “What?” she asked and looked up to see where the book had come from, and found Savannah. “Oh, hi Savannah. Were you talking to me? I’m sorry I didn’t hear you. I’m reading this great book on Hags, it is fascinating.” Evan knew Savannah because of her older sister Dorian, Evan was sort of her tag along, she liked her sister’s friends and often spent time around them if she could.
Evan stood and dusted of the back of her clothes, “So you getting your things too?” she asked knowing full well that had to be the reason she was there, Savannah never gave her the impression that she was someone who would come to Diagon Alley just for fun. Evan had one fault, if you counted it, it was a knack for asking to many questions, though informative it could be annoying to others, she was trying to cut back on it. “I’m here with my grandpa. He lets me run around on my own for a while before we head back home. Did you see Dorian this summer? She came back from the Milan Wizard Show a few weeks ago, my mum and dad made her model for it again, she didn’t really want to go.”<br> Evan picked up the book that Savannah had launched at her, “This is yours?” she asked handing the book to Savannah. “Your lucky no one saw you throw that, they don’t like that sort of thing here.” Evan looked at her watch, she still had plenty of time before she had to meet her grandfather, “Where are you going from here Savannah? Can I tag along? I promise not to be any trouble.” She smiled as sweetly as she could.

Savannah took the book back when Evan handed it to her. "Hags., uhh, yea, that sounds real fun .... " Evan kept right on talking though about Milan and fashion shows. "No I haven't seen nor heard from Dorian this summer. A fashion show you say, truly fascinating, I can wait to hear all about that" Savannah said with a distinctive sarcastic tone.
"obviously I'm here for my stuff" Savannah said as she shoved the book back into the bookcase without much care as to the proper place. "You're quite smart Evan, did anyone ever tell you that?" Looking back towards the entrance of the shop, the worker had yet to return with Savannah's book. "So slow" she muttered as she looked at the books in the shelf, as she expected they were nothing to get excited about, rather they were the type of books that would put her to sleep. "I'm going to go eat lunch, if this guy ever gets me my books" Savannah said while pulling out a book about dragons, but turned out to be nothing more than a fat book of essays about dragons that was simply boring. "If your grandpa lets you, you can join me if you want"
Shoving the book back into the bookcase Savannah began to play with a strand of her hair. "How can you stand it in here? This place is utterly boring, I think I'd want to beat myself with a book if I were forced to stay in here much longer."

“Yeah they are,” Evan replied to Savannah’s comment about Hags. Evan picked up the sarcastic tone in Savannah’s voice as she talked about her sister’s summer activities, “I’m sure,” she said with no feeling at all. Savannah was not her favourite of her sister’s friends, she always made her feel small and stupid when she knew she wasn’t. Evan looked at Savannah as pleasantly as she could, as she persisted with her sarcastic attitude, “I guessed as much, but I just asked anyways.” Savannah’s next statement left Evan in a quandary. Was she being serious that she was smart? She was a Ravenclaw; of course she was smart. Or was she being sarcastic again?
Evan looked behind Savannah as she turned looking for the shop worker, “It hasn’t been that long has it?” Evan smiled, “I’m sure he’d let me go with you,” she said happily, “He should still be in the Leaky Cauldron. Are you going there to eat?” Evan’s face squinted up as Savannah asked her how she could stand it there, “What do you mean?” Evan had been raised all her life in England, for the most part, and had been at Hogwarts since her first year, she knew no other way. “Oh,” she said as Savannah’s meaning dawned on her, “I like to read. I never notice the atmosphere.” Evan’s thoughts had strayed elsewhere at first as she was aware that Savannah was not all that thrilled about being in England and at Hogwarts, everyone knew it.

Savannah shoved another book back on the bookshelf where it belonged while listening to Evan tell her just how much she loved book stores. “And do you ever buy the books you read? Or do you simply read and then put them back on the shelves? That’s why I hate book stores now. People read the books, bend the pages, then put them back! Have you ever been to a muggle book store?!” Savannah said as her voice became more audible which drew angry looks from the clerk at the desk, a look which Savannah simply ignored. “I hate muggle book stores even more! You wouldn’t believe what they do! They have coffee shop INSIDE the book store! People get drinks and food then go read books, spill on the books and then put them back! I’m not buying a book that someone spilled on!” Savannah was now fuming as the clerk at the desk came over to them “Please miss, you’ll have to keep your voice down or leave” the older witch told Savannah. “Believe me, I wouldn’t still be in here if my books were ready!” Savannah said while rolling her eyes so only Evan could see.
When the clerk left, Savannah cleared her throat, “That’s why I hate book stores. Only book stores I go to are here for school books, for some reason they won’t deliver. Everything else I have it delivered by owl, or I buy it on the muggle internet and they deliver it.” Pausing Savannah looked at Evan who was still sitting, “Evan do you know what I’m talking about? Muggle internet?” she asked as she suddenly realized Evan was a pureblood.
As she waited for Evan to reply, the worker returned with her books. Taking them, Savannah walked over to the clerk and paid for her books. As the clerk packed her books into a bag and handed it over to Savannah, she held out her hand. “Please put a feather weight charm on that bag, I don’t want to lug it around, this one too” she said as she set her bag from the stationary store on the counter. Reluctantly, the clerk agreed and handed over the bags. Returning to where Evan was, Savannah made a face as she saw a large pile of dust on a bookshelf. “Lets get out of here already, I’m hungry. Oh, you can forget the Leaky Cauldron, too crowded; I am never go in that place again. Come on, I know a little coffee shop on a little side street that is pretty good, and it’s usually quiet.”<br>

Ayumi sat in the coffee shop watching people pop in and out of the fron door. There was the occasional group of witches who drank black coffee and discussed the daily news and there was the group of tennage girls who walked in giggling and laughing. Ayumi sat alone on a round table playing with her hair and swirling her spoon in her herbal tea. She didn't have anyone to sit a giggle with because she was new to this place. This was her first trip to Diagon Alley and she was all alone. She heard the door bell jingle and watched two girls walk in, one carry a large amount of bags, surprisingly, she carried them with no effort and another follwing her with bags too. She watched the two search around for a table to sit on.

Evan looked at Savannah, “Yes, I do buy them. But I like to get started in here where it’s quiet and no one can bother you. I hate it when people bend up the books and put them back.” She looked around for a moment, the book she was reading was tucked under her arm, “A muggle bookstore? No, I haven’t actually. Mum and dad are to busy to take me to muggle places.” Evan looked around as Savannah’s outburst had drawn attention to them, the looks on angry patrons’ faces was making Evan uncomfortable. Evan listened in silence as Savannah berated muggle bookstores, though explaining to Evan why exactly she hated them; it was a little much. Then, due to Savannah’s loud expressions of displeasure at the muggle way of treating books, the clerk came over and told her to lower her voice. Evan braced herself, she knew better than to tell Savannah what to do, she didn’t take orders well Evan had observed on a previous occasion. Though Savannah’s response was less than what Evan had expected, the eye roll she gave her did make her giggle.
Once the clerk was gone Savannah resumed talking about bookstores and something called the muggle Internet. Now, Evan knew a few things about the muggle world but not much and the entire concept of the Internet was foreign to her. She stood, and with a rather embarrassed look on her face said, “No, I don’t know what you mean Savannah. What is ‘internet’? I knew some things about the muggle gadgets, but I don’t know about this Internet thing. What is it?” Evan was looking at Savannah, her question still lingering in the air, when the clerk returned with Savannah’s books. Savannah went to pay for them leaving Evan where she now stood, “Okay,” Evan said happily as Savannah suggested they leave.” She began to walk with Savannah, who had now refused to go to the Leaky Cauldron, instead she was taking Evan to a coffee shop she knew, “What’s this coffee shop called?” she asked as they left Flourish and Blotts.

Savannah led the way out of the bookstore and out onto a smaller side street. It was a very short distance from Flourish and Blotts to the coffee shop. Most the time was spent in silence while Savannah tried to figure out how to explain to Evan what the internet is.
Pushing open the door Savannah held it for Evan and then pointed to a small table off in the corner. There were about a half dozen other patrons in the shop, far less than would be in the Leaky Cauldron. Setting her bag down on the bench she sat down and pulled a menu out from the tray and gave it to Evan. Soon the waitress arrived to take their orders. "I want the Caesar salad, and a lemonade" Savannah said immediately then waited for Evan.
"You use the internet on a computer" Savannah said as the waitress left. "I bet you don't know what a computer is either, it's a machine you use.. for.. well you can type on it... and.." Savannah paused while trying to figure out how to describe it. "Actually it's probably easier if I just showed you some time, you can come over any time you want. Anyway, what else do you plan on doing this summer, you have to do something besides reading books in book stores right?"

Evan walked alongside Savannah, they were having one of those strange moments of utter silence that was deafening. Evan was still puzzled about the ‘Internet’ thing, since Savannah had yet to explain exactly what it was. Evan was also wondering about the fact that she knew very little about muggle things, if she didn’t know what the internet was. Maybe she should take Muggle Studies this year? They had turned off onto a smaller side street, Evan like a puppy being led, since she had no idea where she was going.
They reached their destination and Savannah pushed the door and went inside, she held the door for Evan to get in. Evan did as she was directed by Savannah and went to a small table in the corner. She flopped down on the bench beside Savannah’s bags and then picked up a menu and began to look over the things they served. The waitress arrived soon after and Savannah gave her the order before Evan had even made up her mind. “Umm…I’ll have a tuna bacon sandwich please, with lemonade also, thanks” Evan said and closed the menu.
Once the waitress was gone Savannah attempted, however badly, to explain to Evan what the internet was. “A computer?” Evan’s eyebrows furrowed, another word she didn’t know. Her disappointment was soon quelled as Savannah offered to show her what a computer was, and told her she could come visit her anytime she wanted. “Well, actually I didn’t have any plans yet. I was just going to stay home and wait for school to start. Get a head start on reading my books. Pretty boring huh? Grandpa was supposed to take me fishing but he isn’t sure about that anymore, so I just have to wait and see. What are you going to do Savannah?”<br>

Savannah waited while Evan finished describing her summer plans. After a few seconds it became clear that Evan truly had no plan at all for the vacation. "That's alright, I guess" she said while looking out the window. "I don't know what I'm doing the rest of the summer. I wanted to go back to Charleston and stay with some friends but my parents won't let me go. They said I need to stay here, they think my Salem friends are a bad influence, whatever." Savannah finished with a heavy sigh.
"I guess the rest of the summer I'll just stay at home and work on my poetry or a story. Why don't you just go with Dorian when she goes on her fashion show stuff? That'll get you out of your house and let you do something." In short time the waitress returned with their orders. "Don't bother taking Muggle Studies Evan" Savannah said as she mixed her salad. "It's really nothing but trash, I saw the book that is used. You'd be better off just going to a muggle city for a week."

Evan looked at Savannah, “Charleston? What’s there like? I have never been to the United States before.” Evan asked, very interested in the new place. Evan was like that, curious about things she didn’t know, places she’d never been too, and she was always ready to hear about them. “Why would she say that about your friends?” she asked Savannah naively, when she spoke about her mother not liking her friends in Charleston. Evan looked at Savannah empathetically; she had no idea what she must be going through. She had lived in England her entire life, she occasionally left to do photo shoots for her parents in other countries, but she always came home in the end, and they were never for extended periods of time. Savannah on the other hand, was forced to leave the home she knew and loved, all her friends for a place she didn’t seem to like. Evan felt for her.
“So you’ll be home like me. I don’t want to. I’d have nothing to do there. Dorian will be busy and won’t have time to spend with me, and I won’t be doing anything there but watching. It will be boring. Besides my dad is here and I like spending time with him and grandpa.” The waitress returned with their orders, and Evan immediately took a sip of her lemonade. “Okay. I just thought Muggle Studies would be interesting. I could learn about muggle stuff. I don’t think I’ll ever get a chance to see a muggle town, well at least not spend time there.” She took a bite of her sandwich, “So what are muggle places like?”<br>

"Charleston is wonderful" Savannah said to Evan. "At least most of it is, everywhere has it's bad parts. We didn't actually live in the city, we were farther out, we lived on an old plantation. We had a huge property; I could ride my horse for hours there. Our property was also good for Quidditch. Mom would put hexes on our property all the time to keep muggles out. That's why I guess my mom didn't like my friends. They were all purebloods, she thought I was learning to hate muggles or something. Also they were all quite rich so she thought I'd be stuck up or something, whatever."
Eating her salad she listened to Evan discuss her summer plans further. "Your dad is here? What he doesn't live with you or something?" Right to the point Savannah was, she wasn't always discrete when asking about possible sensitive topics. "Uh, yea, I mean if you want to talk about him , if not that’s cool too" she quickly added trying to patch up any damage she might have done.
Evan again asked about muggles. "Uhm.. Well muggle places are like wizarding places really, just without the magic. We use electricity a lot, uh, that is like magic in a sort. It makes machines run, so does gasoline. I think that's really the only difference, we use electricity and gasoline to power everything and we invent stuff that runs on those to help make things easier, I guess. Whatever, you might as well just come home with me sometime and I'll take you to the mall. I swear that will blow your mind."
Savannah picked at her salad and frowned at the distinct lack of chicken. "What, did they run out of chicken or something? Look at this! Hardly any chicken at all! I'm not eating this!" She said while tossing her fork into the plate, turning around she looked for the waitress. Soon the waitress arrived and asked if everything was alright. "No it's not alright!" Savannah immediately said as she pushed her plate to the edge of the table. "I believe I ordered a chicken Caesar salad, but all I have here is what, four little bits of chicken? I want a new salad."
When the waitress took the plate away to the kitchen Savannah grumbled and looked out the window at several little kids with arms full of bags. "Look at them, new Hogwart's students. I swear we better get some good ones this year, last year's crop was pretty pathetic. Sure they were smart enough, but they were dull, it's like they had no backbone. I'd talk to them and they'd mumble and then quickly leave." She then took a sip of her lemonade while waiting for her salad.

Evan listened keenly to what Savannah had to say about Charleston, “I think I would like to see it,” she said when Savannah had finished. “I have horses at my home,” she hesitated before asking her next question, “Were you? Were you learning to hate muggles? I know some people do. You aren’t stuck up Savannah.” Evan giggled when Savannah asked her about her dad. “Of course he lives with me. It’s just mum and him usually have to both go on photo shoots, but this time he didn’t have to. He had to organise some fundraiser weekend thing that is going to start before mum gets back. Why did you think daddy didn’t live with us?” she asked with a smile on her face, Savannah’s misunderstanding was amusing to her.
Evan had listened to Savannah’s description of muggle places. “I don’t know if I can image not having magic. I don’t understand how half of muggle things work. I know what gasoline is. It’s that smelling liquid they put in cars. My grandpa took me to see a car once.” Evan’s eyes lit up when Savannah invited her home with her too see a mall. “A mall? Wow, what is it?” but Savannah’s attention had turned to her salad. “I guess,” she said looking at the salad that was before Savannah. Evan gave the waitress a sidelong look when she came back to ask about their meal. Evan took a bite of her sandwich so she wouldn’t have to say anything. Evan chewed in silence as Savannah made a fuss over her salad and demanded a new one.
Evan looked out the window to the first years Savannah was talking about, “I think we will. They don’t look that bad,” she said innocently. “I don’t know, they were a few who were really nice. At least I thought so.” She took another bite of her sandwich and took a gulp of lemonade.

"Of course I don't hate muggles, Evan" Savannah said as the waitress returned with a salad that had more chicken in it. "Muggles are just like wizards, some are nice, some are idiots that you want to punch in the throat." Picking at her salad some more she rolled her eyes. "Definitely won't be getting this again" she stated while picking through it more. "Your dad lives with you then? alright fine, but you made it sound like it was strange that he was around. Why doesn't he just hire someone to go do that work for him?" By this time the first years had all gone further down the alley. "Better get good ones" she mumbled. "So what are you doing the rest of the day?"
Savannah raised an eyebrow when Evan asked what a mall was. "A mall is a giant shopping area, like Diagon Alley but it's all in one large building with many floors. You can buy whatever you need there, clothes, jewelry, books, music and movies. Most malls also have a food court where there are about 20 different places to eat. They're great places. Oh hey, I got something I bet you'll like." Savannah then reached into her purse and pulled out a small cell phone and handed it to Evan. "That's a phone, you see the numbers? Every phone has a number, mine is 365-1487. If you push the buttons and then push the green button you can call another phone. That way you can talk to someone right away, I like it better than owls. It's much quicker. If you want you can try it, but I don't think it will work here in Diagon Alley. You can try though, my home phone is 287-0106." Savannah then turned to her salad while Evan was busy playing with the phone.

Evan smiled, a little smile, “Oh, I was just asking. I didn’t think you hated muggles.” The waitress returned with Savannah’s salad, plus some more chicken, and put it down before her. “I know they are just like us, they just have to use all those gadgets to do what we do with wands.” Evan laughed at Savannah’s comment on wanting to punch some in the throat. Evan smirked as Savannah announced that she would not be getting the salad again, and she took a piece of bacon out of her sandwich and began to nibble on it. “Yeah, dad lives with us,” Evan said between nibbles. “Sorry, it’s just it is sort of strange for dad to be her when mum isn’t. They are always together.” Evan laughed unintentionally, “Sorry,” she apologised, “Daddy likes doing that stuff himself, both he and mum. If someone else did it there would be no guarantee that things would come off as they want. At least that is what dad says, mum says he just enjoys stuff like that.”
Evan though about it, “I don’t know really. Grandpa will take me home and then I’ll just get started reading my schoolbooks. I don’t have many friends to spend time with. So I just read.” Evan had listened to Savannah explain what a mall is, “Oh I understand.” Evan’s eyes lit up when Savannah announced she had something to show her and pulled out a cell phone. Evan took it, her mouth slightly open in awe, “Wow. I have never seen anything like this before. This is what muggles talk on so they don’t send owls. I like my owl, but this is cool.” She smiled brightly at Savannah. Evan did as Savannah had suggested, and called her number, but she didn’t hear anyone. “I don’t think it works here. I keep getting this strange noise all the time.” She handed the phone back to Savannah, “Maybe I can try it another time.”<br>

Savannah watched Evan nibble on her sandwich like a mouse. "You might want to finish that sometime this year" she said while gazing out the window once more. While watching Evan use the phone Savannah took it once she had finished saying it wasn't working. Looking at it, she turned it around to Evan. "It is working, you just have to wait for the other person to answer their phone, you have to be patient" she said as she put her phone away.
Looking at the clock on the wall, Savannah sighed. "When you're done I'll walk you back to the Leaky Cauldron, I've got to get going soon though. You could ask your grandpa to come over sometime. I'd tell you to bring a camera with you to take pictures of everything, but you probably don't have one or know what a camera is" Savannah said with a smirk. "If you don't have one you can use mine, it's a muggle camera but I'll buy extra film for you to play with." She then turned her head and waved for the waitress to bring them their check.

“Hmm…sorry I just like to eat bacon like that,” Evan said before putting the remainder in her mouth. “Oh, I didn’t know. You said they talk on it, you didn’t say that they had to answer it.” Evan was a naturally curious person, but had a few things that seemed to annoy people, one was the way she ate, she took forever, she didn’t know why but it always seemed she was always the last to finish. Because of this Evan had gotten into the habit of not finishing her meals so she would be done with everyone else, perhaps that was why she was such a thin child.
Evan pushed aside her sandwich, “I’m done,” she said not wanting to keep back Savannah. She picked up what things she had and placed them in her lap, “I’ll ask him as soon as we get back there. I am sure he will say yes.” Evan looked around curiously at the wizards who were in the deli, there were a few strange looking ones, even for wizards, one man made her laugh, by the way he ate. “I have a camera,” she said popping back to the conversation, “Wizards have cameras too. One of the boys in my house is a muggle and he brought one of their cameras to school. Did you their pictures don’t move when they are developed? That is so strange, pictures that just sit there all the time. They must get so bored.” Savannah waved the waitress over to bring the cheque. Evan reached into her pocket when she woman put the bill on the table and left. “How much did my food cost?” she asked Savannah, not wanting to impose herself on her graciousness.

Savannah shrugged when Evan said she was finished. "You know it's not my place to say, but I don't care. You'll never get to play Quidditch with the rest of us if you stay so small, you might want to eat more." She then took out her purse and set down the money to pay for lunch. "Don't worry I got it" she said to Evan as she got up and grabbed her bags. "We better go, your grandpa will probably be worried about you."
As they left the shop they made their way back towards the Leaky Cauldron. "You've seen muggle cameras before, that's fine, you can play with my digital camera. You use those with computers. I don't really see why you would want your pictures to move all the time. It gets annoying to see someone waving at you hours at a time." In short time they arrived at the Leaky Cauldron, Savannah simply stopped at the doorway. "You go in, I refuse to go in there."

Evan looked at her plate and then back at Evan, “I don’t want to play quidditch. I play with my family at home and that is enough for me, besides if I were on the field I couldn’t cheer.” She looked at her stomach, “I’m not that small. Am I?” Evan frowned but quickly washed the look off of her face. Savannah got the bill, “Okay. If you’re sure Savannah,” she told her. Evan stood, Savannah was probably right, her grandpa would worry about her soon if she didn’t get back.
The two left the shop and walked back to the Leaky Cauldron, “Thanks Savannah,” Evan said excitedly when she told he she could play with her digital camera. “I like seeing the pictures move, some are do friendly. Like the paintings at school.” The arrived at the Leaky Cauldron’s backdoor, “Okay I will be right back,” Evan told Savannah and then she dashed inside the pub.
Inside the air was thick with smoke, from one wizards abnormally large pipe, it took Evan a little while to find her grandpa, as he had moved to talk to a few old friends. “Hi grandpa,” she said with a smile, “Hi there pumpkin nose. What did you find to do so long?” Evan smiled and proceeded to tell her grandfather about meeting up with Savannah and the deli. “So grandpa can I go with Savannah? Please?” she asked with that puppy dog look that always got him. “Alright, alright,” he laughed. “I’ll send your sister for you at Savannah’s later. Now be careful or your parents won’t let me take you anywhere anymore,” he joked. Evan gave him a big hug and a kiss and then she was off again, at a run, out the door.
“Savannah, my grandpa said I could go with you to see muggle stuff today if you aren’t busy. He’ll send Dorian for me later.” The excitement was blatant in Evan’s voice.
