Ayumi sung to herself softly. It was a slow Japanese tune that her mother once sung to her as a lullaby. She walked through the Dark streets of Diagon Alley, not a soul stood in her way. Ayumi continued to walk, her head down, and her low, calm voice echoing throughout the night. A tear fell down her cheek as she hit a single tune with many memories. Quickly, she wiped it away on her Crimson robe. The wind bristled through her hair, which was down today, it's balck strands crawling through thr open night.
She was postive that no one was around, who in their right mind would be, well maybe except for her. She dug her hands into her robe and continued singing, her cold voice, sounded warm and caring. Strange for Ayumi, but then again, it was dark, and no one was around. The many shops were still open, surprisingly, they seemed to run a 24 hour business. Ayumi looked at the lights flood out from them. She passed many of them, her voice still echoing. She was so wrapped up into it, that she hadn't noticed the figure ahead.

Daniell stood still. Afraid the tiniest movement could end her short life. The figure ahead also stopped moving. A shiver ran down Daniell's spine. Loose strands of her hair ,back in their typical, pigtails mingled with upright hairs on her neck. She waited...waited for the mysterious form to break the suspenseful silence.

Ayumi dropped her singing to a low hum when she spotted a figure ahead. Tensing her body up to full alert, she looked to see who it was. When the light hit that figure, she saw that it was a slightly smaller girl than her, with two pig-tails, apparently in a timid mood. She stopped, her platform boots silencing their clunks. She lookd down at the girl and said, "Who the bloody hell are you, and what the devil are you doing out this late?!" She noticed her voice was a little too harsh, and forced a smile upon her face, to lighten the mood.

Raven had just walked out the door of the Leaky Cauldron. It was getting late and she needed to get home before her uncle Frank got mad. Gosh, I hope he's not drunk tonight she thought. That was why she had spent most of her day in the Leaky Caulron. So by the time she got home he was asleep. She was crossing the street when she noticed two other figures across from her. Oh, it was Ayumi. She had been growing closer to Ayumi since their Knockturn Alley trip and wasn't quite so scared of her anymore. In fact she almost considered her a friend.
Oh, no. Ayumi's not picking on another first year already is she? Raven decided to investigate. She didn't here any words pass between the two of them and wasn't sure why they were just standing there staring at each other. For all she knew they may have been preaparing for a duel.
"Hey, Mimi," her new nickname for Ayumi. Raven had thought it was cute when she had first thought of it. "What's going on?"

Ayumi looked down at the girl who had yet to respond, when she heard the osund of echoing footsteps. She whirled around instantly, her hand on her hunters knife and her crimson eyes glowing like fire. She gazed at the figure and then heard it mention the name "MiMi". Ayumi groaned and thought "RAY!". She took her hand away from her hunte's knife and looked at Raven, "Bloody hell woman, I told you not to call me that." She said and turning around, back to the girl,"Anyway, Ray I still don't gots this girl's name." She said crossing her arms and looking at the girl.

Daniell's breathing became heavy and labored. A new figure had walked onto the street. She realized that she was fully exposed by the light overhead. Her eyes darted from each shadowey figure to the other. The first had asked her a question but she had not quite processed the words.
"I-I-I'm lost!"she cried out hoping her vulnerability would save her hide. She looked down at her toes and awaited he fate. The two were having a heated conversation now...had she been forgotten...? Maybe she could sneak into a nearby shop? The thought vanished when one of the forms turned back to her. She had asked her her name. Thinking on her feet Daniell lied,"Kairi" she said without hesitancy..Kairi was her mothers name.

Ayumi continued to stare hard at the girl, she was confused, "What the devil is she scared of?" She though in her head, then she heard the girl stutter something, sounded like "Losy". She shrugged and said. "Your name is Losy?" She looked down at the girl and and, "Oh come on woman, look up at me." She said forcibly, she wasn't one to talk to someone's head, but to their face. "Uh Look Losy, what are you so scared of?" Ayumi said, placing her hands on her shoulders, calming her down.

Oh, the poor girl. She needed help. Oh, what am I getting myself into, Raven asked herself. If I were smart I would just leave her here for Ayumi to devour. But no, I can't. Oh, bloody Hell.
"Oh, come on, Mimi. Lighten up will you," Raven tried to be cheerful. She looked at Ayumi, who looked tense. Her eyes looked a bit red too, like she had been crying. But she'd ask about that later. Right now, she was consentrating on the topic at hand. She looked over at the mystery girl who seemed to be sneaking away.
"Hey, where you goin'?"

"n-no where." she stuttered ceasing the small bit of movement she had attemted. Despite what the first girl had said Daniell continued staring at her shoes. Her aunts words were ringing in her ears "Don't get into trouble Danny" Well i guess that rule is out the window. She thought bitterly.

Ayumi shot a look at Raven, "Ray I am calm!" She said laughing, she noticed Raven had looked at her eyes, and quickly turned around as to not arrouse any suspicon. She looked back at the girl, and bent down a little in order to see her face, "So you're lost are you. Surely you'll need help, it's not safe for someone as small and dare I say cute as you to be standing out here alone." Ayumi said holding the girl's face in her usual leather gloved right hand. She was inspecting her face, to see what it held.
Confusion, fear and probably hope. Ayumi thought to herself as she studied the girl's face, holding it gently. She released her grasp and looked back at Raven. "Hey Ray, she's a first year alright." She said and beckined Ray to stand by her side. "So what's your name, and what are you doing out so late, alone?"

Raven crossed her arms. Oh boy, what is she doing? Ayumi is not this nice? Is she? Who knows, maybe all those butterbears are going to her head. She waited for the girl to reveal her name. Obviously she had been lying about Kairi. Ayumi could sense a lie from a mile away. Raven stood in the background while Ayumi examined the girl's face. It was a very pretty face, she had to admit. It looked innocent and petite the way Raven's had when she had first come to Hogwart's.
"Oh,a first year, really? That's nice. Which house?" Raven asked. She tried to divert the new-comers attention away from Ayumi. Even when Ayumi was acting nice, she was still a bit intimidating.

"My name is Daniell," she began feeling better about the situation," I got lost in knockturn alley and...I've been wandering around ever since." slowly her body began to relax. These were other Hogwarts students! Surely no harm would come to her. Lifting her head she smiled shyly and bounced over to wear the duo stood.
" What are YOU doing out here?"she laughed. Before dropping to the ground and landing with her legs in butterfly form. daniell peered up at the face of the girl she thought had been an attacker. There was a coldness in her eyes that made her uncomfortable.

Man, oh, man, was she in for it now, Raven thought. She hoped that Ayumi hadn't thought the girl, Daniell, she thought it was, was laughing at her. No one laughs at Ayumi. And lives. Raven watched Ayumi cautiously.
"I was over in the Leaky Cauldron getting a butterbeer. Ever tried one?" Raven had recently become addicted to the drinks and needed one evryday. She watched the girl hop over to where she and Ayumi were standing. She hoped she didn't get much closer. Heaven only knew what Aayumi would do if she did get angry with Daniell. Of coarse Raven was there with her, but still what could Raven do? She knew no real magic. Nothing that could protect her anyway.

((Raven I command you to stop making me look evil LoL  )) Ayumi looked at the girl who's name was Daniell. She grunted, "Now that wasn't so hard, now was it?" She said in a very sarcastic tone. Returning to her normal cold state. Afterall, this girl had interrupted her midnight stroll. She rubbed her right gloved hand and looked back at Raven who had just asked what house the girl was in. Ayumi averted her gaze from Raven and looked down at Daniell, "Bloody Hell girl, What the devil were you doing in Knockturn Alley, are you mad?!" She said, her cold voice returning. She looked back at Raven, seeing if she agreed. Obviously, this girl looked too young, and small to be out here alone. especially in Knockturn Alley. |

((just giving her a heads up )) Much as she hated to admit it, Ayumi was right. Daniell had no business being out here at this time of night. It was more likely she had no business being here at all, but who was Raven to judge anyone. "Look, uh, Daniell, right? You really shouldn't be out here like this. Maybe it would be best if you just floo powdered ((I think I just made a word)) your way home. I mean, I'm not trying to be bossy or rude," she threw a look at Ayumi, "but you could get hurt out here. Do you even have a wand with you?" Raven wondered how much a wand would help her if she didn't know how to use it. Of coarse Raven didn't know much, but her uncle had taught her some basic, but potent, defense spells just in case. |

Ayumi threw another cold look at Raven, even though they did get along, or agreed on things, Ayumi still felt she wasn't worthy enough of her respect. She gazed at the stars above, as raven dealt with the child. "Funny." Ayumi thought. "I see this girl who is my age as a child." She shrugged the feeling off and looked back at the girl. "Ray, it wouldn't matter if she even had a wand, she's not allowed to use it, nor does she know how to." Ayumi said abruptly, it was the hard cold truth.
Ayumi looked down at the path, no one and nothing was there, "there goes my midnight stroll." She said glumly, letting the final tear drop secretly and looking back upon the two.

Raven gave Ayumi a hard glare. She gets worse each passing day. Raven could hardly imagine what kind of old woman she would make. Ayumi was irritable enough as it was.
"Even if she did use her wand, I'm sure the Ministry would forgive her if she were being attacked," Raven countered Ayumi. "They wouldn't expect someone to just sit back and let themself get killed. Or worse. She has to protect herself." That was all she had to say to Ayumi for the time being. She turned back to the young girl.
"So, why don't you just head home now? I'm sure your parents are worried about you being out this late," Raven felt like her mother bossing her like this, but obviously Raven needed to give her a little push in the right direction. If she left her with Ayumi she'd get a shove. What was that shining in Ayumi's eye? Oh, well. It was probably a trick of the light.
