He pushed throught he doors of the library and paused for a moment. This certinly had to be his favorite place in all of Hogwarts. It was certinly the place where he spent the majority of his free time--his free time that was not focused around the study of social behavior of his fellow students.
Now though--his focus was on more scholarly thoughts, and he stepped forward, walking down the distanly familiar rows of books, decinding which one he wanted to read about first. After a few long minutes, he finally plucked a book on the the most important magical developments of the last century and he carried it down to one of the tables, taking his usual seat by the window

Jaquin walked among the capacious library that encompassed innumerable book shelves and multifarious subjects. There were antediluvian novels and volumes about old potions, some shiny, new books about recently updated advanced magibiology, and multitudinous copies of every singles one. As he trudged along through a section on magibiology, Jaquin heard the sounds of soft whispers resonating softly throughout the vast library. When he reached an area that was extremely Cimmerian, near the very back of magibiology section, Jaquin reached into a pile of books and extracted a recently-updated magibiology book. It was called 'Recent Theory and Developments in Advanced Magibiology'.
Walking out of the dark corner, Jaquin headed towards the windowed area where he read when he wanted a good view of Hogwarts Grounds. Upon arrival, Jaquin saw a new friend of his, Kamron. Trudging up a few stairs, Jaquin greeted, "Good day, Kamron! Look what I found- Jaquin showed him the magibiology book- the most recent volume of advanced magibiology! It was written by the researchers themselves!!"

He had been rather immersedin his book when he eard a familiar foice speak, and he looked up from his page and his new friend. His eyes quickly drifted down to the book, reading the title just as Jaquin was telling him. Of course, if there was anyone in all of Hogwarts to understand why Jaquin was so excited, it would be Kamon.
He smiled brightly, his gaze lifting back up to Jaquin.
"How spectacular! I did not even know that there was a new version being developed--If I did I would have refreshed myself of the previous edition."
He grinned brightly, knowing that was the topic that Jaquin was more instrested in.
"Give it to you to find it though." He commented. If there was a magibiology book in the whole library that had not been there the year before, he was certin Jaquin would be the first to lay hands on it.

Jaquin grinned back with much enthusiasm. "So, what book are you reading? I'm betting it's a pretty advanced book." Jaquin asked, as he endeavored to look at the title of Kamron's book. Jaquin sat down next to Kamron and enjoyed the sunshine that issued through the opened window. Scanning the voluminous libarary, Jaquin saw very few people studying or doing homework as it was the first weekend back. Jaquin suddenly inquired, "Hey, Kamron, have you started any Quidditch practice yet?"
While Jaquin waited for Kamron's reply to his inquirie, he began to read his the new addition of advanced magibiology. The book was so intriguing that Jaquin was completely immersed within it, temporarily forgetting about where he was and what he was doing.

He took had looked down at his book his eyes one again scanning the words ont he page he had left off on as Jaquin asked him about Quidditch. He immediatly shook his head, but knew that his friend would already be focused on his own book.
"Not yet. Though I praticed on my own over the summer. I am eager to get out to the Pitch again."
He fell silent again for a moment, as he had gotten down to a most intresting paragraph he wanted to give a deeper amount of his focus.
"Have you been out there yet?"

After imbibing as much of the concepts and ideas as he could, from his advanced magibiology volume, Jaquin looked up to hear Kamron asking him about his Quidditch sessions. "Well, you know how it is. Cavales charged into our dormitory and told us to get down on to the Quidditch pitch at about five in the morning. I admit that it was exasperating when she woke us up at five, but, it was imperative for us to get a head start. Last year we didn't fair too well with Gryffindor, although, I got a pretty good shot that almost knocked Fred or George Weasley off."
"So, have any plans for today, Kamron? It is pretty early right now. Perhaps we can squeeze in a practice before lunch?" inquired Jaquin. "Ever been to the kitchens? Perseus showed me last year. It is fascinating to see the society that the elves have developed." Jaquin knew that Kamron was talented in phsycology, so, he egged Kamron on. Perhaps it would help with Granger's S.P.E.W. project.

He had been reading through the rest of his page of his book as Jaquin started to talk about Quidditch and how it had gone the year before.
"I remember that match" He commented. He always went and his attention tended to focus ont he beaters. "I would more enjoy taking the bludger out for a while."
He then fell sielnt again, his eyes glancing across the words on his page as Jaquin started tlaking about the kitchens and house elves.
"I have not been down there yet, but I am eager for the day. I have heard that there social behavior and psychology towards their jobs is most intreging. Perhaps this year I will be able to get down and study them."

"Well you have your chance, Kamron. The one year of extra experience that I have is particularly about the school! So, I can give you a tour of all the secret passages that you may not know and anything else around the school. What do you say? I mean we don't have all day!" Jaquin pronounced excitedly (although quietly). He put his checked-out book into his bag and rose from his chair ready for his small duty as a tour guide for anything that Kamron dide not know about Hogwarts. "Of course, you need to understand, Kamron, that I do not doubt one bit of your abilities."
Jaquin strode towards the back of the library, passing multitudinous book shelves of varying sizes. Jaquin turned his head to Kamron and motioned for Kamron to follow him to the back.
When they arrived at their destination, Jaquin stopped in front of a suit of armor between two large book shelves. "I'm not sure if you know this passageway, Kamron, but, if you tap your wand on the helmet of the armor and say the password, it will reveal a passageway. Now, this passageway is just a set of stairs that will enable you to reach the hallway outside of Ravenclaw common room very quickly."

He ha dlooked up from his book just in time to see Kamron drop the book into his bag. He had been listening, but it almost took him a moment for it settle in. After a short moment he too jumped to his feet, leaving the book on the table. He dropped his own book into his bag and followed after Jaquin.
"I think its a splended idea" he commented "I am sure that another year has given you a much better knowledge of the passage ways of Hogwarts"
Once they reached their destination he looked at the suite of armour. "I did know of his password before, though I have never used it."

"Well, in that case, we will traverse through this passage anyways," Jaquin said before chanting the spell. "Abrasio!" Tapping his wand on the helmet of the suit of armor, the suit of armor began to move, as it marched off to the right, revealing a part of wall that opened up. Leading Kamron in, Jaquin whispered the reverse spell and they headed up the stairs as the wall closed behind them. When they reached the top of the stairs, Jaquin opened up another wall/door to reveal the hallway that was outside of their common room. The sun reflected off the statue of a night that was the entrance to their common room, as Jaquin turned to their left and headed to a cross section.
As they arrived, there was a tumultuous and rambunctious roar as throngs of students rushed out of the Great hall 5 floors below, beginning their weekend ventures which was nothing preternatural. "Now, Kamron, I shall show you where the kitchens are," Jaquin proclaimed. He motioned for Kamron to follow him down to the Entrance Hall, where Jaquin instead of turning to the right towards the dungeons, turned to the left through a door at the end of a corridor that lead to the basement of the Castle, where the Hufflepuff common rooms were situated. After following a hallway that lead to a jolly portrait of assorted fruits, Jaquin halted and explained, "This is the Kitchens, as it is not hard to tell.- There were happy, amiable paintings of food all around the corridor.- Now all we have to do now is tickle the green pear on this portait and it will turn into a doorknob, which will open up to the Kitchens." Jaquin promptly tickled the pear and opened it to a swarm of miniscule houselves and the capacious underground immitation of the Great Hall....

He followed behind Jaquin, remaining rather silent as he tried to set the unfamiliar passage way to memory. He wanted to remember everything that he could so that he could come back here to observe the house elves even more.
When they reached the painting of fruit, he nodded. It made a rather lot of sense...fruit being the way to the kitchens. He then watched Jaquin tickle the paitning, the doorknob them becoming clear just before it was grasped, turned and pushed open.
Both boys stepped inside, to a rather chaotic looking room. There were house elves everywhere! More of them than he had ever seen before. A few of them spotted the boys and stopped to look, but most were still busying for lunch.
"Absolutly infatuaton" Kamron mumbled, trying to take in all of the elves at once

"Yes, well, welcome to the Kitchens," concured Jaquin. A raucous group of elves ran up to meet them, and bowed profusely, instantaneously bringing them a teapot and two teacups. "May we bring young masters anything else?" one elf squeaked excitedly. Jaquin promply answered, "No, thank you.-Then turning to Kamron.- You see, they may seem preposterously obedient, but this is because of the centuries of brainwashing by wizard folk." This was the one factor in the individuality of most wizards that sprouted animosity in Jaquin's mind. He abhorred the arrogance of most pureblooded families.
"So, what do you think, Kamron?" Jaquin inquired. "Of course there are the more eccentric of these elves." He was of course pointing out Dobby, who was an anomalous houself that wanted pay for work, but not too much, and was free of the bondage. "Ever seen Dobby? Perseus told me about him. He's over there." Jaquin said as he pointed towards the aberrant houself.

He nodded, listening to Jaquin's first statement as his eyes still scanned the crowds of house elves. He was tryign to see how they interacted with one another--yet on some level they seemed not to. Instead they seemed focused on their jobs, or on Jaquin and himself. They seemed to not acknowlage one another, instead they just managed not to run any other house elves while occupied by there tasks.
"And Hogwarts inforces the pratice?" He asked, never looking over at Jaquin. He knew of the house elves, but it just seemed off that Dumbledor would keepu p a pratice that took centuries of mind control to attain.
He then shook his head at the other question. "I have never met Dobby, though I have heard of him"
He looked over to where a house elf that seemed to stand out from the rest of working. Instead of wearing the towel-like togas of the other elves, he wore and assortment of miss matched clothing.

"Of course not! The only reason that Dumbledore has these houselves in service is probably because they don't have jobs or they just revere Dumbledore so much that they came begging to do it. But, I'm not really sure," Jaquin replied, as he contemplated. As he drank his tea, Jaquin commented, "Well, Dobby is obsessed with clothes, especially socks. You can go meet him, but, my suggestion is to approach him officially. He only talks to Harry, Granger, or Weasley."
"We have a Hogsmeade visit coming up today in about an hour, you know. I could show you the secret passage leading back up to the castle from the Cellar of the Three Broomsticks," Jaquin offered. "So, what do you say?"
((Sorry, a bit short))

He nodded as he listened to Jaquin's comment about Dumbledor, and then of Dobby. They of cousre made sense. He expected no less of his new friend though. He must remember to find Hermione at some point and talk to her about the house elves.
Then, the topic shifted towards Hogsmead. He was of course looking forward to the trip. He loved butterbeer, and the library there had a rather good selection. The Quidditch store wasn't bad either.
He nodded eagerly at Jaquin's question about the new secret passageway.
"How thrilling! I had heard rumors of one existing, but I have neverknow its location. One never knows when such a thing might come in handy."

"Great, lets get to it then! The visit will last until about six in the afternoon. Of course, we could leave early and get some Quidditch practice in if you would like," Jaquin said as they headed up to the entrance hall where Filch was standing in front of a huge line of students. When Filch checked them off as visitors to Hogsmeade, Jaquin lead them into one of the waiting carriages pulled by the invisible Threstrals (only invisible to people who have seen death) and they were off towards town.
When they arrived, Jaquin could see all the multifarious businesses and stores lined up down the street, while throngs of racous, boiusterous students packed the area, some running about with pernicious, magic rockets from Zonkos, while others looked for drinks in the Three Broomsticks. "So, what would you like to do first," Jaquin inquired Kamron.

His eyes canned the street for a moment. There were many things that he wanted to do, and if they wanted to try and head back early to squeeze in a Quidditch pratice before dinner, there wouldn't be much time leasure.
"Well, I would like to go to the Quidditch shop, and the library"
He then fell silent for another moment. He also wanted to have a butterbeer, but that could come if there was time....
"How about the Quidditch shop first."

Jaquin could tell that Kamron was a bit reticent about the idea of taking time away from Hogsmeade to get some Quidditch practice before dinner. "Well, we can always practice Quidditch at night," Jaquin said, eying Kamron. "Anyways, I think we should go to the Quidditch shop first, I'll be buying the latest beaters bat design. I think they might have made it out of magically reinforced wood and branded with iron. I'm just hoping that I won't have to put another unbreakable charm on it again."
Jaquin trudged on towards the Quidditch shop and proclaimed, "Why don't we go to Honeydukes after Quidditch shop and library." As they entered the Quidditch shop, Jaquin's comments were cut short, as he looked at the new beater's bat in a stack on the display panel. Quickly taking the one that looked the most intact with the least handling by consumers, Jaquin meticulously set it on the counter and paid for it before placing it into a large green sack that hung from his belt, beside his wand sheath. "I'm glad I've got several of these," Jaquin said to Kamron as he pointed at the green bag and revealed shrunken green bags from a clandestine pocket in his robes.

"I think you read my mind"
He commented to Jaquin as they headed towards the Quidditch shop. He had managed to put a rather large crack in his bat durring his last pratice at home. Because of that, he hadn't even bothered brining it, knowing it would just be easier to buy a new one here.
"I hear all the beaters on the world championship teams are using the new design, so it is probably has some good improvements"
Most beaters only gave up their old bats when they broke it, or the new design was so improve they simply just couldn't keep the old. Ones bat just seemed to fit to them after a while, while new ones always seemed stiff and akward until you got use to them.
As they entered the shop, he followed Jaquin's lead and picked up one of the bats, going to the counter and counting out his coins before paying for it.
He eyeed his friend's green bags approvingly, smiling slightly at him. "Very handy indeed" He answered, before moving on to one of the previous topis about heading home early to pratice before dinner.
"I think that we cn make it home in time for an early pratice. Between here, the library, honeydukes, and maybe Three Broomsticks, we should only be another two to three hours--which leaves us a few hours to get back and get on our brooms"
