Cass began to feel warmer as Kris moved her to the fire. She was suddenly very cold, and nausous.
Still very stunned about what happened, she took the pie and held it for just a moment.
" Thank you," saying it very audible. Even though she had been wanting that change, she really didn't expect anything. She never thought she would of ever of been gifted with something like that.
" You have no idea how suprised I am. You know, its really odd how things like this happen to people. I wasn't really expecting anything, but there you go."
She nibbled a little at the pie. It was quite good. Even though she was surprised, she was ecstatic that all the work she had put into had not been for naught.
She tried to pull her skirt down, knowing she was probably showing a little too much leg know. " Thank you, you don't know how much this means to me."

Kris shrugged carelessly: “Don’t thank me. If I had had any use of it myself, then I wouldn’t have given it to you, so there’s no point in thanking me. If you want to thank someone, go and thank Snape, who brewed it. I didn’t even ask for it – I didn’t even know a potion like that existed.”
Kris settled back, leaning against a willow and let a small two-headed puppy – a natures accident – climb onto his lap and petted it’s fur softly. “There are camps that help you learn turning into your animagus forms, although they usually only accept pure-bloods,” Kris glanced at Cassandra, “Even though I don’t have a clue, if you are one or not. And they cost a fortune, but I think I’m going to one this summer. My animal was a grim-sized wolf.”
Not really wanting to get into an discussion on her parentage quite yet with him, " Camps, Really? I never knew that. THat would be really cool to go to one of those."
She took another bit of the pie. " You know, this is really good pie. I could use some coffee though. I haven't had any real good coffee since I came to Hogwarts."
She tried to stand back up, but apparently the potion was still having some effect on her because she was forced to sit back down by her head and stomach.
She looked at Kris. " I won't be doing that for a bit yet," she got her sorts back to her," Most of the Gryff's told me that they wouldn't waste their time with this. Of course, now I feel like I owe Snape something. It bugs me so much when I'm in his classes. I want to do so well at potions, but I always miss it by just a little. It's really depressing to have him go 'Not good enought, Ms. Logton. Try again.' But of course, I think he's just pushing me. I had told McGonoggal at the beginning of this year that was what I wanted to focus my studies on, Potions and Transfig. Teachers talk, and I hope he's just pushing me."
She thought about that statement. At least, she was hoping he was just pushing her.

Kris handed a thermos to Cassandra as she mentioned coffee. “Snape is one of the best potions masters in Europe and he made a revolution in teaching potions. Some years ago you learned only potion-making theory in first and second year, as Snape got you brewing from the first lesson,” Kris explained. He had had some long talks with the potions professors and they understood and respected each other, “If any of us does something wrong and gets hurt, then he will be responcible. Wouldn’t you be a bit edgy under this kind of pressure.” Kris decided not to mention everything that added to the strain Snape was constantly under, as it wasn’t his place to tell them.
“Would you rather he settled for less than very good potions and threaten all of our lives with that? He’s a great professor who actually will make the subject get through to you if you aren’t paranoid of him nor afraid of his comments,” Kris said with a shrug, “He just has a personality that makes you remember. We had a dueling lesson here in my first year and Snape demonstrated the ‘Expelliarmus’ spell there. He showed it only once and no one has taught it to us after it, but all of us who were there to witness it can do the spell near perfection. After just one demonstration from him. What do you think how many professor can have that strong impact on his students, so they learn that quickly?”
Cass felt that he was getting really upset about what she had said about Snape.
" Oh, I completely understand. It's just frustrating. I've always been a bit of a perfectionist, and to be told its not good enough is a bit of a hurtful thing to say to a perfectionist," she took a sip of the coffee," Oh, this is wonderful. You definetly did not get this from that place in Hogsmeade. I had hot chocolate there one time and I didn't like it. There coffee isn't very strong either, but it's not bad for taste."

“Madam Puddifoot’s – I think I’m banned from there for life,” Kris said with a smirk at Cassandra’s comment about his coffee, “Not much of a loss though. This is made by a house-elf here. Took me half a year to teach him to make it right, but now it’s waiting for me every morning on the Slytherin table.”
“And to be told something is not yet there should be THE best thing for a perfectionist. How else will you know when you do reach perfection,” Kris pondered, before giving up the inner debate and adding the more philosophical statement, “Besides what is perfection anyway? I don’t think there is anything that is perfect.”
Cass took another sip. " I've never been one to be told that it wasn't good enough. In fact, Snape was the first person to ever tell me that. I'm always very careful when I do things like schoolwork. I hate being told not good enough. I just remember the first time he told me that, I was just so astounded. I didn't know what to do. All I could do was try again. Then, I started brewing over it and I got mad about it."
Some of the soreness from the transformation was starting to pass, and she was pretty sure that she could stand up now. But, she was enjoying the conversation. Wow, Cass, your on a roll. That's two Slytherins for you, she thought to herself.
" If he would just tell me what was wrong, I would feel much better about it. But, I hate asking him questions. I feel like if I do, he will think less of me. I don't want anyone to think less of me."

“Ask a question – be a fool for five minutes. Not ask – be a fool for the rest of your life,” Kris quoted a saying with a grin, “I obviously don’t have that problem as I get along fairly well with Snape and he is the head of my house. But he does answer to some questions. Dana sometimes asks him and he does answer to your question. The answer maybe a little hidden before some biting comment, but it’s there.”
Kris grinned and shook his head: “And I’m no perfectionist, so I don’t really understand how it must have felt like to not do something as close to perfect as possible. Especially at school-work as I seem to have made a habit of skipping classes. I make sure I can do the same spell or whatever was done in the class previously, before I make an appearance in the class once again. I personally learn much better at one-on-one lessons or completely by myself. My special personality paranoia, I guess.”
Kris smiled as the old unicorn walked closer and lay down on the ground next to Kris. Placing his hand on the unicorn’s neck in an appreciative, rather that a petting gesture, Kris smiled: “Lately I get a lot that I’m a really weird character, so I probably have a lot of those. Personal paranoias I men.”
Cass and her lust to prove herself was really the only drive that kept her at Hogwarts sometimes. It would be so much easier to return to her muggle home, in her muggle community, and to a muggle school. But, she had been pushed and prodded by so many pure-blood wizards, she couldn't just quit. Wouldn't that just prove them all right?
" I guess its starting to come down to being able to understand the man. I mean, I've never had any animosity towards him, and the only real conversation I've had with him was over an essay I had. And he basically told me to rewrite it, and 'understand what I said this time'. I guess I should be glad he doesn't take his job lightly. He did offer to give me private lessons once, and I've been brewing over to take him up on his offer."
She thought about it. " But, honestly, he intimidates me in a way I can't describe."

“There was a first year Ravenclaw. She transferred rather suddenly right after Christmas – Kat. Within just a month she almost came as close as a sister – she promised she’d come to visit me in the summer,” Kris smiled recalling the young girl with the character of a spit-fire, but she had won his heart over in just an hour, “She wasn’t the least bit intimidated by Snape and I did hear some of their arguments in one of her detentions. She barked back at Snape in the same way, he talks to his students. In a way Snape probably appreciated it, as when Kat told me in a letter to greet him from her as well, he smiled, when I advanced the greeting. It was a brief smile, but it was there. Then again Kat went from giving me a tongue-lashing of a century to getting me to follow her around Hogsmeade as she shopped, with us laughing together as best friends.”
Kris smiled and came back to where he was from his memories: “So just loosen up. Snape doesn’t bite. And I honestly don’t see what’s intimidating about him.”
Kris smiled at Cassandra. For a Gryffindor she wasn’t half that bad and that added to the fact, that she was a friend of Dana’s. Otherwise Kris probably wouldn’t have offered: “But if you are in real trouble and too scared to see Sanpe, you may come and find me. I’m not nearly as good, but good enough and should be still able to brew third year potions well enough. Or visit Dana – she isn’t bad either and if she gets stuck, then she can always reach me immediately. We have soul-mates lockers,” Kris showed a small silvery locked with a lone ‘don’t-forget-me’ bloom on it, that was attached to his shirt, “If I press on the bloom, then Dana’s locket will notify her, that I need to see her. And vice versa.”
Cass was bit surprised that he was offering to help her with potions.
" Well, thanks for the offer. Its impossible to find a Gryff who is good at potions. The rumor is that only Hermione Granger is good in our house. But, from what I hear, she is good at everything. I probably will have to take you up on it."
Cass thought about his comment on Kat. She had met the girl. She had been pelted with a potion about a month back, and Kat was good enough to give her the antidote.
" Of course, I don't personally see you following a girl around shopping. You would probably be easily leading them around with your charm."

Kris grinned: “I didn’t follow her around. She managed to convince me to give her a ride on my back. And I gave her a lift home after-wards. She has a rather cool brother as well.”
“As for the potions. Send me an owl or do whatever you think off to reach me. I should be able to brew third year potions well enough,” Kris shrugged. It really wouldn’t be too much trouble. “I’ve heard Granger is good. She would probably fit into Ravenclaw as well,” Kris tilted his head. He didn’t mind half-bloods and muggle-borns and he never really bothered to call them names, unless they got into his way or pissed him off. Then again – Kris gave hell to every person who did this – pure-bloods as well as other students.
