Kris just tilted his head as Samantha mentioned Italy being divine. He certainly knew it well enough as he lived in Italy – on a mansion built on coastal cliffs with forest surrounding it from three sides and the ocean from one. Kris always appreciated the privacy as he couldn’t really be called very social.
It was Samantha’s tone of voice that made Kris curious about her brother, but Kris was rather enjoying the conversation so he kept his mouth shut. For now at least. Kris wondered briefly what it would be like to have a brother or sister – sure, he had Dana and Mary, but that was different. They all had separate futures and each were independently wealthy. Kris couldn’t imagine an other way of living.
“Castles of clouds or pots of cold in the end of rainbows. I always think looking for them or wishing them is idiotic. But in your – our – case we can reach them for real,” Kris’s voice was calm – he knew his price and it wasn’t cheap. That was part of the air of absolute confidence around Kris that never left him. He knew that he was better than a lot of others and he was proud of it and never tried to hide it. Very often he just didn’t bother to lower himself to taunt muggle-borns or half-bloods. Kris just felt it wasn’t worth his time.
“You have the wealth, the will-power, the knowledge, the looks and the power to take part of the world for yourself,” Kris stated calmly with an almost wolfish smirk on his face, “Why not enjoy it?”<br>For a moment Kris looked over to the Forbidden Forest feeling the temptation to go and run in there, before he pushed the feeling into the back of his mind: “An Auror – a job that needs a lot of dedication and hard work. I agree to often with so-called criminals- at least with some points of their beliefs – to want to catch them. I guess you could say I’ll stay neutral unless something very big turns the sides, as I agree with arguments from both sides. The so-called good and evil. Then again – in the absence of evil there is no good.”
Kris mused over the philosophical thought for a moment – Kris had a bright mind, fit for a Ravenclaw that was how he passed all his classes rather easily, even though he didn’t show up for about half of them.
Kris’s eyes moved back to Samantha: “I’m sure you will be known in the magical world and there is no doubt you can make the job – whatever it will be in the end – the most exclusive one in the end. And I can’t wait to hear what you have discovered with your research one day.” The flattering came swiftly from Kris’s lips – he was a player and it came naturally to him. Sometimes Kris himself didn’t even notice that he flirted. He himself would only pick up a job for his own personal amusement – Kris very much preferred the hidden power then the one a person could have publically. It was Kris’s speicality to start a conversation and present his wishes and thoughts so that the other person would think he or she came up with them. It was rare when something Kris really wanted didn’t go the way he desired. He had the main characteristics of a true Slytherin – he just chose his battle and used them a bit differently than most of his house.
