Kiyla gently took the letter form Ivy and reread it over and over tryiong to contemplate just really what was going to happen. She wasn't sure if she should be hapy or mad or sad or annoyed or all of them. After a few minutes Kiyla looked at Ivy and said, "Well this is.... unexoected." She laughed a little and felt a little lighter. She still was angry about her dad but decided it was best to leave it alone for a little while. 'Well that was long enough.' Kiyla thought as she felt her anger resurfacing. She had forgot about it for long enough. She looked at the lake and picked up her father's letter and stood up. She wasn't thinkign now she was just reacting. She walked over to the edge of the lake and said a a spell she knew to make the letter water proof.(Her mum taught it to her when she went scuba diving. They were burring a time capsule.) She folded it up and held it in her hand and waded into the lake. As she got deeper in the water she thought to herself, 'I am so gonna regret this one day.'
Next thing she knew she was underwater swimming towards the bottom with the letter still in her hand. She was making sure she didn't go too deep because she knew she would need oxygen soon but just deep enough so that she wouldn't be able to find the letter.

Ivy watched in alarm as Kiyla suddenly stood up and walked calmly into the lake. Despite the fact it was a warm day, it must be really rather cold in there. "Kiyla!" Ivy called, "Wait, wait, don't...", but her attempts were fruitless, either since Kiyla was ignoring her or because she was unable to hear her. Ivy could see the water level rising on Kiyla as she walked further into the lake.
Ivy jumped into the lake herself, calling Kiyla again, but still there was no response and Kiyla plunged underwater.
What should she do? Should she tell someone? Should she go after Kiyla herself? Ivy had no idea. The cold water was swirling around her shins, and she had to make a decision, fast. But still she just stood there, the back of her mind knowing full well that this moment's indecisiveness could cost either her, Kiyla or both of them something very important.
In a moment Ivy knew what she had to do. There was no time to get anyone else. She leant forwards into the water, shuddering as her chest made contact. That felt so cold!
Ivy swam deeper into the water, towards the spot where Kiyla had gone underwater. She needed to find her again and make her surface. She had no idea what Kiyla's intentions were.
She just hoped she would be all right herself. She wasn't exactly a strong swimmer.

Kiyla swam deeper and deeper looking aroudn making sure the giant squid wasn't near. She swam down untiil she was on the sea floor. She quickly dug a shallow hole and put the letter in there and packed the dirt back. She began to swim back up to the surface when a figure caught her eye. She began to swim closer to it when she realized that it was Ivy. Kiyla began to panic and swam fast over towards Ivy. Ivy was far away so it took Kiyla a while to get there. She finally reached Ivy to see that she was not the strong of a swimmer and she seemed to be struggling. Kiyla alarmed grabed Ivy and swam up to the surface.
"What did you think you were doing? Are you okay?" Kiyla said as she began to wade towards the shore.

When Kiyla surfaced there was a look of alarm on her face. Ivy was having trouble in the deeper water and was grateful for Kiyla's help. Well, whatever Kiyla's intentions had been, it appeared she'd been forced to come to Ivy's aid. Ivy felt embarassed for revealing her weakness.
The letter, which Kiyla had taken into the lake, now no longer appeared to be in Kiyla's possession. Ivy guessed she must have hidden it.
"What did you think you were doing? Are you okay?" Kiyla probed. Ivy felt an upsurge of anger. Well, yes, she was okay, just about, if very cold. And what did she think she was doing? What did Kiyla think she was doing? Ivy knew that maybe her thoughts were unfair, but for the moment she didn't feel much like talking to Kiyla. Her phobia of water had seen to that. "Yeah, I'm okay," Ivy said quickly, without making eye contact with Kiyla. She hurried inside, dripping water all over the floor, all the way up to her dormitory above the Hufflepuff Common Room, where she collapsed into tears. She just hoped Kiyla didn't follow her.

Kiyla looked at Ivy confused. What was her problem? Kiyla had just saved her from her struggle and this was the thanks she got? Kiyla was burnign with anger but decided she should leave Ivy alone for a while. She shivered as she climbed out fo the water and sat back down in front of the water and stared into it. "What the heck did i do now?" Kiyla sighed. She hated having one of her only friends mad at her. She began to cry, but stopped herself. She needed Ivy and she had the feeling that Ivy may need her as well. Kiyla who was still dripping wet went up the stairs past the common room to the dormitory where she could hear the echos of Ivy crying.
