Pyro stepped out into the courtyard and Miaka took flight immediately. Pyro watched her go for a little while until she became nothing but a speck. He moved down to a nearby tree and laid down in the shade. He picked a blade of grass and placed it in his mouth and looked up at the sky with his arms folded behind his head. Silence, it had been so long since he had heard the silence. Even in his common room was there noise. It seemed a lot of Slytherins had gotten past their anti-social attitude.
Pyro shut his eyes. Hanging onto the sound of silence for as long as possible before people started to flood the courtyard and make a lot of noise. The sound of wings and the thud beside him told him that Miaka had come back and landed beside him. He reached over and began to stroke the feathers on her back without opening his eyes. A sudden jerk from Miaka told Pyro that someone was approaching. Shortly that was confirmed by the sound of footsteps approaching.

Tap, tap, tap, tap, Mary’s pencil went on the table to an inaudible beat. Groaning she slammed her transfiguration book and glared back at the people who gave her dirty looks for being so loud in the library. Tossing her books into her shoulder bag Mary swept down the halls stopping at a window every now and again. Spring had officially come and the grounds were finally beginning to show it. With a huge grin she couldn’t help but spin out into the grounds. The forest looked so enticing becoming all green. She started over until she noticed a familiar blond braid in the courtyard and decided to adjust her course.
Moving up beside Pyro Mary sat down close to his legs in order to avoid the shade. “Hey, Honey. What's up?” she asked before deciding the shade was something she would suffer in order to annoy Pyro; something she hadn’t done in forever. Resting against the tree as well Mary started twirling his braid around her finger. “So what’s new? It really has been too long since last we spoke… just us two at least.”
Pyro never opened his eyes so he had no idea who had just moved up to join him. He was about to open his eyes to look at the person when they instead spoke to him. Pyro could easily recognize that voice. Mary, she was correct, it had been a while since they last spoke alone. He felt her begin to play with his braid and he let a smile spread across his face.
"Whats new?" He asked himself. "Lets see, what dont you know about yet." He opened one eye and looked up at her with a slight twinkle. "Well, shes new" He motioned over to Miaka standing next to him.

Mary was glad to see Pyro smile; it was no fun to annoy someone who’s in a bad mood. Not that Mary wanted to annoy him in a malicious way… just their usual banter which she suddenly realised she missed so much. “What's her name?” Mary asked when he indicated that his Phoenix was new; as if she hadn’t realised that. You would have thought Mary would realise that Pyro hadn’t been seen constantly with a Phoenix before but… Pyro apparently felt the need to point it out. Granted Mary walked right into that one by asking…
Noting how relaxed he looked Mary had no choice but to ask. “Pyro honey, could you pass me my bag?” she said indicating her backpack, which she had dropped a little ways from his feet when she had sat down. She knew neither of them could reach it and she didn’t really need it; she just wanted him to have to get up for her.

Pyro let his one open eye roll over to glance at Miaka, than it rolled back to look at Mary. “Her names Miaka.” He said. As if on cue Miaka perked up and ruffled her feathers, trying to draw a lot of attention to her because she knew he was talking about her. Pyro let a grin spread across his lips. “Yea, she’s a little bit of a attention hog” His grin grew and there was sparkle in his eyes. “Kinda reminds me of you.”
Mary Mentioned her bag and he let his eye roll down to look at it by his feet. He frowned, he’d have to sit up to reach it. Exactly what Mary was planning. He looked up at her. “Do I have to?” He already knew the answer and with a groan he sat up and grabbed her bag. He swung it over and set it next to her. He did a mock bow. “Your bag, your majesty. Anything else I can do for you before I go back to sleep?”
“Miaka; its pretty. What does it mean? What language is it?” Mary asked weighing the name in her mind; she rather liked it. She smirked as Pyro said that both she and the bird were attention hogs. “Why thank you Pyro. But are you sure its healthy the amount you seem to be thinking about me? I mean Miaka has her own personality and things… I'm sure she wishes to been seen as an individual. You know I won't be able to continue talking to you should this obsession go any further. And we wouldn’t like that now would we?”
She sent him a malicious grin as he asked if he had to. “Please?” was all she said before he sat up. As he placed the bag beside her Pyro mockingly asked if there was anything else he could get her. No able to resist Mary covered her giggles with a smirk. “Well a chocolate chip cookie would be nice…” she said in as sickeningly sweet voice as she could manage while trying to suppress her laughter. “Do you think you can manage that? I mean last time you failed miserably…” she said referring to the second time they spoke when he had brought her a raisin cookie rather than chocolate chip. So that it would appear his getting her bag was not useless Mary removed a book and placed it in her lap.

He thought for a moment. “Hmm.. I’m not real sure about the language or what the name means. It’s a name I read somewhere and when I told her” He motioned at Miaka. “She seemed to like it, so it stuck.” He returned her smile at her next comment. “Now now, Miaka holds a very special place in my heart, but.” He placed one of his hands over Mary’s. “But there are just certain areas that only a fellow human can fill. I’ve been waiting a long time to tell you this, but. Mary, I cant stop thinking about you. I… I’m in love with you Mary.” He could barely hold a straight face through this and as soon as he finished he started to laugh.
He somehow knew exactly that she was going to say that. He frowned at her. When she grabbed a book out of her bag he looked down at he bag. He grabbed the bag and stuffed it in Mary’s face, than with a chuckle he said. “Hey, I already told you once before, those Raisins were chocolate chips in disguise. Do we have to get into that whole discussion again?” He asked drawling out the last word. He moved his hand on the bag to keep the bag on her face if she tried to move and talk. He could hear a muffled reply from behind the bag. “Excuse me? What? I’m sorry, I cant hear you.”
Mary eyed his hand suspiciously as if expecting him to crush her fingers so she would have to go to the hospital wing or something. Instead though he went on some speech about being in love with her and she bit her lip hard trying not to laugh. As he finished and burst out laughing Mary controlled herself enough to reply. “Oh honey, we have been over this before. How many times do I have to tell you? I'm sorry but… you’re not my type. Were still buddies though; ok?”
“If they were chocolate chips in disguise then why did you just refer to them as raisins? Pyro your confusing me…” she said with a mock ‘I'm such a confused, helpless, little girl please help me’ type expression on her face. For some reason it amused Mary to no end to frustrate people by playing the blond card, despite the fact her hair was actually strawberry.
All of a sudden she was being smothered by her school bag. She reached out her arm and slapped Pyro in the chest as hard as she could but knew it was useless; she had no physical strength whatsoever and it likely wouldn’t even hurt him. “Pyro, take the bloody thing off my face.” She attempted to say but knew he likely couldn’t understand. Those suspicions were confirmed when he told her he couldn’t hear. She gave a small scream of frustration and began a full on assault; slapping him in the chest with both hands hoping he would soon drop her bag.

Pyro looked away. Hiding his smile as Mary turned him down. His eyes snaped back to hers as she said they could still be buds. "I dont know. My heart beats strongly with my love for you evertime I see you. I dont know if I could handle being just friends." Oh how he missed these exchanges. He looked at her. "Well I called them raisins just now cause thats what they prefer."
He yawned and easily was able to ignore the slap to his chest. Although her tirade of slaps were beginning to become noticeable. Laughing he used his free hand and began to defend against her slaps.

Mary laughed as Pyro explained that they prefer to be called raisins. “Oh I get it now… Just like you prefer to be called intelligent because it adds to the illusion that you are…” she said while giggling before realising that her voice was likely still muffled due to the bag pressed against her face.
Through all this her hands continued to swat his chest and his arm worked seemingly tirelessly blocking as many blows as possible. Tired of being smothered Mary attempted to wiggle away from the bag. She tried to duck down and move toward him so her face was right beside his; if he was going to smooch her face she would make him smother his own as well.

Pyro chuckled he heard her muffled voice again. HE caught the word "intelligent" but that was about all he could understand. He continued to block her attacks. Deciding to let a few by his defences to make her feel good.
He smirked as she moved closer to him. Trying to get him to smother himself. He removed the bag and brought his other hand up. Pushing on her forehead to force her back. Maybe even make her tumbled backwards.

As Mary moved closer to him in an attempt to flee the bag he stopped defending against her assault and pushed her forehead back. Considering the awkward way her upper body was contorted due to the attempt Mary knew it was useless to try and gain her balance, she just had to brace herself for the fall. The good thing though was her face was free of the bag and she could see the leaves and sky above her head; not that she was consciously thinking about that… Her thoughts were more concerned with taking Pyro down with her; since it was his fault she was going to get dirty. As soon as she fell to the ground Mary lifted one of her legs and attempted to hock it into Pyro’s side to cause his awkwardly turned body to tumble forward as well. She knew he had studied martial arts and would likely only fall should he allow himself but… she may as well attempt.
“What did you do that for? Ruined my hair and my cloak is now a mess; this cloak is worth more than you; you know.” Mary said to him glad her words would now be heard because the bag was no longer on her face. Despite the appearance of being mad Mary was in fact highly amused and just relaxed against the ground; didn’t matter anymore she was already a mess.

Pyro watched her start to fall back and grinned. He noticed her foot come up and hook her foot around his side. He felt himself start to fall foreward. If he wanted, he could stop himself. He was about to fall right ontop of her so he twisted his body in mid-fall and managed to land beside her instead of ontop of her. He chuckled slightly. "Wow, that was pretty slick. Couple of years of practice and you just might be able to take me in a fight."
He shruged as she mock yelled at him. "You were being annoying. I saw it as an appropriate supression method." He frowned down at the cloak. "Worth more than me huh? That shabby old thing?" He looked up at her hair and scoffed. "Oh what are you talking about. The wild messy look looks good on ya. You should really be thanking me."

Mary simply looked at Pyro as if he were insane when he called what she had done “slick” and mentioned with a few years practice she may be able to take him down. “Practice… me? Honey I swear you should have realised by now that unless something comes naturally I don't do it. Why waste my time with something I'm not good at when there is so much more I am more adept at?”
He then answered her question as to why he pushed her to the ground by explaining that she was being annoying and she pouted at him. But as he insulted her robes she gave him a malicious grin. “Well what does that say about you? A ratty old cloak being worth more than you?” she countered despite the fact that her midnight blue cloak was far from ratty or shabby; it was the latest style at that.
It was then Mary could contain her giggles no longer and began laughing; looking at the pale blue sky and watching the fluffy white clouds drift past. “Well of course it looks good; everything looks good on me. But that’s beside the point. I don't like the shabby, grungy look. Its overrated if you ask me… just an excuse for people not to comb their hair.” She said the laugh still carrying through in her voice.

Pyro couldnt help but smirk up into the air at her comment. "Well, as soon as you find something your naturally good at, come and tell me." His chuckle was cut short at her comment about the cloak. He looked at it and actually had to wonder how his price would stack up to the cloaks price. "I suppose it dosnt say that much about me. Quite whining, its just a bit of dirt, dirt is easy to remove."
Pyro sat up and looked down at her. "Well, almost everything looks good on you." He said with a smile on his face. HE glanced at his own hair. "Well, you dont see me combing my hair, yet it dosnt look all grungy and dirty."

Cass walked out of the castle and into the courtyard. The wind whipped around her neck and played with her now short hair. She wan't quite used to the new length yet. She had had long hair for most of her life, and she literally got an itch one day to go to Hogsmeade to have it cut. She rubbed the back of her naked neck ackwardly, still not used to it.
She looked up to see two people laying in the grass under a tree. What a cute couple, she thought to herself.
Cass got closer to them, and suddenly, the couple wasn't as cute. Her stomach jerked, and she literally felt like she was about to puke. There was Pyro and Mary, looking quite snuggly together. Oh, hell, what do I do know, she thought to herself. She couldn't really walk off becuase they had probably already noticed her.
Hiding how upset she was about walking upon the scene, she approached the two. Blood rushed to her cheeks as she acwardly said, " Hi guys. I hope I wasn't interrupting anything." She literally did look like she was about to cry.

As a frog shaped cloud passed overhead Mary lay amused and listened to Pyro’s comment about dirt. He then said that almost everything looks good on her and she couldn’t help but smirk; “How very complementary you are today. And to what do I owe this bout of honesty?”
Soon she heard footsteps approaching but didn’t care enough to look up. As she heard an awkward sort of hello though she turned her head and saw the outline of Cass’ figure. “Oh hey. No nothing at all; just some bonding time is all.” Out of a sudden impulse for cruelty Mary gave a small little giggle. “You know just… hangin’ out…” she said before snuggling closer to Pyro and giggling once more. Turning to look at Pyro Mary’s eyes pleaded with him to play along. She knew Cass had had a thing for Pyro but as far as she knew they pair were now but friends… might as well have some fun.

Before Pyro could respond to Mary someone else approached them. Pyro looked over at the person and noticed it was Cass. He greeting sounded a bit ackward and before he could answer her Mary beat him to the punch.
Acompanied with her response Mary moved a bit closer to Pyro. Pyro looked down at Mary and saw a certain look in her eyes and had to hide a smirk. He sent her a look that said "oh alright.' in response.
He looked back at Cass and threw a arm around Mary. "No, not interrupting much. Just hanging out."

Cass fidgeted a little and then decided to compose herself. OH damn, I so don't need this, she thougt to herself.
" Really? Well, I'm heading to the Forest. Wanna join me?" She just totally lied through her teeth. She wasn't heading to the forest. She was honeslty out for an evening stroll to blow off some steam, but this was about the only way she could mask how upset she was.

Pyro looked at Cass and thought about her question. He really didnt feel like getting up. Relaxing was the only thing on his to do list today.
"I dont know, a walk sounds fun." He knudged Mary's shoulder. "What do you want to do?" He decided to let Mary decide, it was her game she was playing at the moment.
