"Yeah." Tristan nodded as he walked with Mack, "I have a snow owl. Molly. My family owns a few horses too." We live in the contry. In yorkshire." Tristan was surprised that he was telling so much about himself to a Slytherin, but then this girl was totally different to any other Slytherin Tristan had seen before. He decided she was definantly someone worth getting to know. "So where are your family from?" Tristan asked Mackenzie. As they emerged into the courtyard Tristan awaited Mackenzie's reply

"I always wanted an owl. Parents wouldn't let me have one though. I don't see why not, I'm the one who takes care of Sly here." Mack reponded to his answer about his pets. She smiled as Sly purred some more. They came into the courtyard and Sly jumped out of Mack's arms, skiddering away. She looked at Tristan as he told her they live in Yorkshire. She smiled and lowered her head.
"My family is from the states, New York, to be exact. But now we live in Muggle London. There's something about the cities that my parents adore." Mack laughed lightly at that. New York City had to have been the busiest city she had ever been in, and now that she lived in London...she wasn't sure if it came even close. They moved to London when Dix was 10. So, that would make Mack 7 or 8. Dix didn't develope an accent, Mack did though. A very thick one.
"Horses you said? Those things are tall. I hate tall things. They make me feel extremely short." She didn't like feeling short. It was something she disapproved of. But, she knew that because of her height she would always be short compared to people who were of average height for their age. She wondered if there were any people under 4'8" at Hogwarts.

"I've been to London a few times...Nox" Tristan placed his wand back into his pocket. "I love the tower of London. It's amazing to think that our ancestors lived in places like that 900 years ago." Tristan looked around the courtyard as he finished his sentence. He had been so absorbed in the conversation that he hadn't noticed how beautiful the courtyard looked in the moonlight. Some of the flowers hung low, waiting for the sun’s rays before they would look up again and others were in full bloom facing the moon which cast an ethereal glow over the castle. Light danced over the walls and flora as it was reflected from the large fountain in the centre. Wild flowers grew in clusters in the corners of walls and jasmine grew heavily on a lattice wall, emitting it's sweet, fresh scent. Jasmine always smelled stronger at night.
"So do you come here often?" Tristan asked his new found friend, "I've been here a few times but never for very long. I am always passing through and I forget to appreciate the little things that are always there..." Tristan gazed into Mack's clear, blue eyes. Was it just him or were they softer now? More friendly? Tristan took a seat on the edge of the large fountain and turned his body sideways so he could face Mack of she sat beside/opposite him. He motioned for her to do so before plunging a hand into the cool water. He loved the feel of water. Cool water. Water was something Tristan did appreciate. He wasn't a trophy winning swimmer, but he spent his fair share of time in the water and he had learned to appreciate and respect it. It was lovely and refreshing and even relaxing at one moment, but you could fall under and any moment and drown. Kind of like a lot of things in life. Luck, friendship, love...
"It's beautiful out here..." Tristan spoke wistfully, gazing up at the stars, "Don't you think." He turned his gaze to Mack, awaiting her reply.

Mack sat down and looked up at the sky, tilting her head to the right a ways and continuing to gaze up. The stars were bright tonight, and you could see Jupiter a ways off. She smiled. She loved Astronomy. At night when she had nothing to do, she just sat out and studied the stars. Of course she had to go somewhere, where she could see the stars. The dungeons served no purpose for that. So she normally spent her times on the grounds. A shooting star made a quick entrance and flied quickly past them, Mack grabbed Tristans hand to get his attention and whispered, "Make a wish." She then closed her eyes and wished. When she reopened them, the star was gone, and all was calm again in the courtyard. She let go of his hand.
"No. I don't come out here much. I'm usually by the lake. Star gazing, I guess." The moonlight danced on her eyes, and her smile was sweet. She looked away and looked back up at the stars. Yes it was beautiful. Picture perfect actually. But something was wrong with it. She was in the picture. And that could never end too well. She sighed slightly, and lowered her head, "Yeah. It's amazing." She whispered, low under her breath. Mack then raised her head again, a smile covering her quick sadness, "So what exactly were you doing out here tonight?" She asked, her right eyebrow rising slowly.

Tristan made a wish before replying to Macks question, "Just thinking..." Tristan replied. He smiled at Mack. He had never told anyone about this, "I go down to the lake a lot. When I'm stressed or upset or somthing. It clears my head. Gives me space to think." Tristan was still holding Macks Hand from when she had grabbed it. He looked down at their hands, fingers entwind. Macks hand felt warm and soft. Still holding on he looked up into Macks eyes and the hairs of the back of his neck stood on end, a shiver going down his spine. But it wasn't a bad shiver. This one felt good. exciting. Tristan moved a little closer to Mack on the edge of the fountain, careful not to let their hands part. "I made a wish..." He said. The right words weren't coming to him so he decided not to speak. to act out his feelings, but he wasn't sure if he was brave enough...

Mack smiled, "Thinking? Yeah. NIghts like these seem to support thinking don't they?" She asked. Her smile and voice were both calm. But, slowly her heart pumped faster. She was a Slytherin! Why was she?! Mack's breath caught and she closed her eyes. Her parents would kill her! But, for once she didn't care. She was only 14. What did they expect from her? She smiled again, realising she was no longer a puppet.
"I go down to the lake, tell the squid my secrets. After all, I'm sure he won't tell anyone. Now, will he?" She laughed lightly at this, her hand still holding Tristan's. Her Slytherin side was screaming to let go and be a pureblood! While her actual side, her soft caring side; the side that was bruised from her past was saying that she was her own person, and that the determination of her house was because of her evil tendancies. Not to listen to her Slytherin voice, which sounded a lot like her sister, but to act on her own. Tristan had spoken again and she looked straight at him, she leaned in and whispered really low, "So did I..."

There was no other time to do it. Tristan's palms sweated and his heart was pumping so fast it felt like there was a football mach in his chest. Tristan closed his eyes and thought of his wish. He didn't know why he had wished it, but he had and he couldn't change it now. He didn't want to change it. He just wanted to do somthing that had the potential to be wonderful, but could blow up in his face. Tristan decided not to care anymore. It was his fears which held him back all his life and Tristan decided he was done thinking about missed opportunities in his life, "You sure look beautiful in the moonlight..." Tristan wispered, his face an inch from Mackenzie's. Pushing all other thoughts away he lean forward and kissed Mackenzie . Her lips were sweet. Tristan hoped this moment would last for longer than just one night. He hoped more than he had hoped anything else that Mackenzie wouldn't throw this back in his face, but for some reason Tristan didn't think she would. There was something on those soft eyes... Tristan closed his eyes and lost himself in Mackenzie's lips. His heart and dignity on a silver platter in front of her...

She didn't pull away. Why in hell didn't she pull away?! Don't you know how much you are losing by kissing this...this...Ravenclaw?! I'm sure she does, I am also sure she doesn't give a damn. What they did to her at home...she shouldn't have to listen to them. But, she has to remember she's a Slytherin at heart. Destined to be alone. I KNOW![/color] Her mind was a race of thoughts, and as Mack pushed all thoughts away, she kissed Tristan back. She had never kissed before. And she was shocked to see that she was kissing a Ravenclaw at that. Her heart was steadily slowing down to it's normal pace, and she started to relax a bit. She knew though, that after this...there couldn't be much to do. Slytherins and Ravenclaws...just...didn't work. Oh God, what was she getting herself into?
She wasn't like her sister, or Desiray. When someone showed affection to her, she took it, but gave some back. She didn't tease and pull away and smash whatever the person gave. Dixie and Desiray were both those types of girls, and look how they turned out. She hadn't expected this to happen. At all. But, she quite liked it. She didn't know if she had genuine feelings for Tristan or if...or if..something else. But, right now, she didn't care. It was just her and him, no one else mattered. What was she getting herself into...?

Tristan couldn't believe he was doing this. A Slytherin girl and him on a bench in the moonlight... The picture was strange and anyone who came and saw them now would probably have a heart attack. Tristan didn't know why he was kissing Mack. He didn't know why these strange feelings were sunning through his bloodstream and making his heart race, but after a while his body began to calm. His palms stopped sweating and his body relaxed. Mack hadn't pulled away and for that Tristan was relieved. Tristan didn't know where things would go after this. He had met Mack tonight. Just tonight and now he was kissing her softly. His hand rose and he ran a finger down her smooth cheek and brushed a bit of her hair behind her ear. She was definantly kissing him back. He could feel it. After a while Tristan was beginning to get anxious that Mack might be too embarrassed to end this beautiful kiss so he slowly pulled his head back to an inch distance from hers, his hand remained on her cheek and he slowly lowered it. With his other hand he held hers, still after so long. Tristan could feel his cheeks beginning to flush. He had never felt this way for a girl before. Acted this way...but he liked it. And although he and Mack were like Yin and Yang. Ravenclaw and Slytherin Tristan was slowly learning that they weren't all that different. They were both magic. The same age... what made them different? a label? Tristan was confused with his feelings, but he still knew that if these feelings he felt for Mack were unusual, strange, he was still feeling them. And that was what mattered

Silence. For so long. Silence. It was unbearable. Mack breathed out slowly. And looked at Tristan, "Um..." She started to say,but she couldn't find the right words. Finally her Slytherin side took control, "They'll kill me." Mack said in an exasperated tone of voice. She lifted her face up to the stars and the moon and let them comfort her, "They'll murder me. Then bring me back to clean up the mess." She added. Mack looked at Tristan, "What a predicament you put me in." Her voice was joking, but she was in no joking mood. How was she going to deal with this? She didn't know where her feelings stood at the moment, she would have to wait until later to find out that. And she didn't know that she could continue. If she could, then she'd have to figure something out. If she had genuine feelings for Tristan, or if it was just the moment thing...then she would work something out. She had to. Because if he genuine feelings for Mack, she didn't want to trample all over them. She didn't want to be Desiray. She was a Slytherin after all, deep down, but something was inside of Mack- and maybe it was because her parents treated her like nothing...maybe that was why she had a different view of the world and a few things. In the end, that was an excuse, that's all those were. Excuses. And escuses don't fly well with her parents. I guess, time will have to make us wait....

"I'm sorry." Tristan said gently. "I hope I didn't offend you or anything. I can assure you I didn't mean to I just..." Just what? Tristan didn't know what it was that made him do what he had done, but he had and that was it. As a couple he and Mackenzie would definitely be frowned upon but the other students. Tristan didn't know where things would go from he so he just thought about now. Perhaps things would sort themselves out with time. Tristan took hold of Mackenzie's other hand and stod so she and Tristan were standing face to face in front of the fountain. He didn't know what to do now so he just stood there gazing into her eyes. He waited for Mackenzie to do somthing.
