((I know you did. Dana was wondering about her own parents)) Dana grinned as Tristan tried to corner her queen. Using her own tower to remove Tristan’s knight Dana eliminated the threat to her chess-piece with a small grin. Something about chess had at least stuck with her from all the times she had played with her grand-father and cousin. Dana grimaced glancing to see what Tristan wrote up: “Yup, forced to attend. Trust – 95% of the pure-bloods in this school would grumble about the same thing. I have a huge family – different cousins and aunts and uncles that I’m not really close to. And if you have to stand hours of complete strangers coming to you, commenting on your clothes, hair, behavior, giving advice that is not needed. Even wanting to marry you of to some of their distant cousin – it gets on your nerves. And most of them don’t seem to understand that I’m not 7 anymore and still talk to me as a 7-year old.”
Dana grimaced – she really-really-really didn’t like family reunions. “But I have to be a part of it, as my grand-parents are one of the most important parts of the family-tree. Therefore good manners dictate that I have to participate.”
((As I have no idea what do you mean by that strange sound, I won’t comment))

((Strange sound could be anything you want. It was an opportunity to be inventive))
Tristan looked around the room. He couldn't see where the noise had come from. Just then a note fell into Dana's lap. Tristan moved his castle to avoid Dana taking it with her pawn and looked curiously at the note.

Hearing someone opening a window Dana didn’t even glance up before a familiar owl dropped a note into her lap. “Excuse me for a second, will you?” Dana asked rolling the paper open and scanning the words quickly. The note was brief – just a time, place and one initial marked there. Grinning Dana stroked the eagle-owl royal head: “No reply to carry back today.”
Folding the note back together Dana glanced at her wrist, before recalling that her watch had broken. “Do you have the time by any chance? I have a meeting at 9PM,” Dana asked Tristan moving one of her pieces out of danger. She was rather sure it was still fairly early – around 5 or 6 perhaps – but just to be safe Dana asked for the time.

((Are you a staff member now? if so CONGRATULATIONS!!! and if not congrats on getting house matron.))
The note was obviously private as Dana had not shared it's contents to Tristan. He didn't mind though. He was happy to help. He withdrew from his robes a shiny gold pocketwatch, "It's... 5:45. Plenty of time yet. Oooh!" Tristan quickly moved his queen to prevent her being taken by Dana's castle. "Lucky." Tristan breathed.
I think I'll go down to dinner at 8:00 if thats alright with you. I'm not hungry yet, but I'v a feeling I with be by then.

((Yes, I’m staff member now. And thank you))
Dana nodded as Tristan told him the time: “Thanks. And why should I mind that you’ll be going to dinner? I’m a growing child and need food and most probably so do you,” Dana said with a grin, not mentioning the fact that she hadn’t actually grown an inch during the last couple of years.
“I have to get going during that time as well. I need to change into some comfortable pants and it takes some time tot get to our meeting place. A non-scheduled practicing hour – it does wonders for my practical wand-use. Which reminds me.”
Dana glared at Tristan: “You don’t speak up in class if you aren’t called upon. Had it been Snape or McGonagall then you would have lost a lot more than just 5 points. With three years already you should already know that you don’t speak up without being asked. Even when you know the answer! I want Ravenclaw to win the house-cup! Watch your queen.”
The last comment was added more calmly as Dana moved her knight.

Tristan was taken aback. Dan'a outburst seemed completely out of character. And besides Tristan hadn't meant to interrupt the class in any way. He had just been excited that he had found some useful information. He had a passion for learning and had been carried away by it. Tristan moved his queen to stop it being taken by one of Dana's pieces and remained silent.

Dana glanced at Tristan and sighed: “I didn’t hurt your feelings, right? It’s just that I want Ravenclaw to win. At least it was Trelawney. I am very seriously going to drop that subject next year and concentrate on something that is actually useful.”
Which reminds me that I have to finish my History of Magic essay sometimes soon. It’s almost amazing how boring Binns can make such an intereting subject.”
Dana glanced up at Tristan: “Think you’re more or less prepared for the exams?”
"Haha!" Tristan was a little happier now. "I know what you mean! I can stay awake in his class as long as I have a sugar quill handy to give me a little more energy to stay awake."
Tristan moved his king further from Dana's approaching pieces.
"Ready...Well I suppose one is never ready for exams. haha. But yes I think I am prepared. I mean I take lots of notes in class. All i need to do now is condense them into some workable study notes. How about you? Fifth year exams are supposed to be terribly taxing. Being your OWL's year and all."
((p.s how do you go up a grade? Do you have to apply or somthing?))

“I usually make sure I sit next to someone who is interesting enough to keep me awake in class. Luckily I learned history from my grandfather, so I know most of what goes on. I usually just have to review some facts,” Dana said easily before grimacing, “OWL’s – eugh. They are horrifying. But I think I’ll survive. Potions is a bit of a trouble-point. I should do awesome in practical OWL’s though. Especially in DADA – I have had 3 duels in the last two days just to practice different hexes. Even though it is somewhat rewarding to hex a Slytherin. Let me think – I dueled with Goyle, PPerseus Feynman and Tristian.”
