Post by Madam Xiomara Hooch on Nov 12, 2004 4:21:47 GMT
Fall at Hogwarts meant several things; cold winds would soon blast the grounds forcing students inside and shortly after the grounds would be blanketed in a beautiful white sheet of snow. Despite being forced indoors for the next several months, the fall season didn't disturb many students because it signaled something else, something more important; the beginning of the Quidditch Season!
Unlike last weekend's match, this morning when Madam Hooch emerged from the castle and walked towards Hogwarts’ Stadium the weather was quite cool. Dark clouds lingered in the sky and an icy breeze was blowing in from the lake. Not the greatest Quidditch weather but it was still playable so long as the rain stayed away, Xiomara thought as she made her way along one of many cobblestone paths which led to the stadium. For today’s match, the north stands had been decorated with red and gold banners and tapestries, while the south stands were decked out in green and silver. As she entered the stadium she walked across the freshly cut grass, once more Hagrid had made sure to keep the field in tip top shape. Entering her office she quickly emerged with a trunk in tow. Moving the trunk to the center of the pitch she set it down and opened it up inspected the four balls inside. Confident that each was in perfect condition she shut the trunk and watched as the stands slowly began to fill up and in quick time the players were in the sky for their warm ups.

The environment was rather tense in the Slytherin dressing room as the players waited to get out onto the pitch. They were playing against their arch enemies, and winning was of the utmost importance. For Draco Malfoy, it also meant going up against his worst enemy, Harry Potter. To him, it was more a matter of defeating Harry Potter than Gryfindor. "It would do him right good if I catch the snitch and he ends up looking like a total fool. So much for being special. Hah!" he thought, a wicked smile spreading across his otherwise serious face. Of course, just dissing Harry wouldn't quite do the job. He would have to play his best out there. As seeker, there wasn't really much of a strategy to work out. He would just have to be alert and quick. Looking up, he saw the other players walk out to the pitch. He got up, broom in hand, and walked out behind them.
Draco snickered as he walked out onto the pitch. "Look at those fools," he commented as he pointed at the Gryffindor players. This was going to be a good match. Slytherin was going to thrash Gryffindor and the Gryffindor supporters were in for a big disappointment, as far as he was concerned. He kicked off into the air and started circling the pitch.

Post by Vincent Crabbe Jr. on Nov 12, 2004 16:49:35 GMT
Vincent woke up that day in a grouchy mood. Draco had made him feel stupid the other day in front of the girl he fancied. And what was more, he hadn't had one witty retort to throw back at him. It hadn't made the best end to yesterday, and what was more, it meant that he was going to get out of bed on the wrong side today.
Vincent climbed the stairs to the Entrance Hall and entered the Great Hall. He looked up at the ceiling. Dark clouds to reflect his mood. He wouldn't be going outside today.
Vincent grabbed as much food as he could, stealing whatever he wanted off other tables. No one dared oppose him. He liked it. It made him feel in power, except when he was with Draco. But his father said that he should spend as much time as possible with the son of the powerful Death Eater, and Crabbe was not one to go against his father's wishes. He could never think of anything else to do, unless Draco suggested it.
Slowly, listening idly to the conversation going on around him at the breakfast table, Vincent realised that today must be the day of the match against Gryffindor. They had to beat Gryffindor, or else it would be an unbearable humiliation, and Draco would say something else to make Crabbe feel stupid. Definitely in front of the girl, too. But if they won, maybe Draco would be in a tolerably good mood. Maybe.
Crabbe ambled his way down to the Quidditch pitch, stepping on a few smaller people's feet on the way. He changed in silence, wondering why no one else was saying much. He walked out of the locker room behind Draco in time to snort obligingly at his contemptuous comment. Draco really was quite funny when he wasn't turning his sharp criticism on you.
Vincent was feeling a little pleased now, at the prospect of a game against Gryffindor. He was going to have a chance to take his frustration out on the Bludger. And on the people who would be on the receiving end of his attacks. It was always satisfying to hit someone.

Dawn walked into the Slytherin locker room Draco had already arrived, also with Crabbe at his side. With a nodd to the two, she walked over to her locker and started to get dressed. Dawn was used to the amount of things you had to put on. It was basically a routine for her. She was dressed in no time.
Walking back to the main room with the corridor to the pitch Dawn sat down on a bench. The while Slytherin Quidditch team was already there. They were dont getting dressed or were gettign dressed. Standing up with her Firebolt in her left hand she hushed everyone down. "Listen up Team!" she exclaimed. "HELLO Quiet Down!" she roared as the last people stopped talking. "Alright, We have played the Gryffindor team MANY times before, for us who are regular players. Their Chasers and Beaters are strong. They need to be hit a few times, hurt them! I dont care. Get them out of the Game! Potter is back and in full force we need him out. They do not have a replacment seeker. If he is out we got the game in the bag!" Dawn grined as she went on.
"We are the best team at Hogwarts!" Dawn assured everyone as she started to become enthusiastic. "But When we play we NEED to set a few things aside. This is a team. We do things for eachother. If one person is down on our team- you attack the person on the other team! We are the best! We have this game already won! We just need to show that to everyone else out there watching us today. We need to show it to the Gryffindor team. Who do they think they are? Do they ACTUALLY think they can beat us!? There is NO way in Salazar Slytherin's Life that we can show that the Gryffindor house is better than us, No way!" Dawn roared as she looked at every single one of her players.
"Now as we go out on the pitch today we need to work as one. One Power, One Force, One Will to Win, As One team!" Dawn finished as she began to smile. She had faith in the Slytherin team- they have a very good chance of beating the Gryffindor team but everyone just needs to get out there and understand that they actually need to show they can do it- not just say they can.
Walking over to Pansy she sat down next to her. "Ready?" Dawn asked as she looked at her. "I need to tell you one thing. When we are out there you are a Chaser. There is no need to physically hurt someone. Maybe ramming into their side to get the quaffle but Do not hit anyone. Pansy, you know you have a temper. You just need to take that out on the game. Not another player. If you do, Hooch will take you out of the game, and that wont happen." Dawn spoke as she knew she would hit a nerve by saying Pansy had a temper- but Dawn needed to warn her instead of making it as such a shock when she plays.

Arriving in the Gryffindor Locker Room, Harry made sure he was the first of his team to arrive. He began suiting up as he stood at his locker. When he was finished he took a seat at a bench as the rest of the Gryffindor team began to arrive. Slipping on his gloves and makeing sure they were tight on his hands he made sure everyone showed up. Standing up, Harry stood on top of the bench where he was just sitting. Catching everyone's attention he began to speak.
"Alright everyone. This is going to be a really good game I can already tell. We have things on the Slytherin team that they have no chance up against. We have won against that team before and we are deffinatly capable of doing it again!" Harry said as she looked at everyone one of his players.
"They have very good beaters. We need to watch out for them. They are very aggressive! The chasers are harsh too. I know they like to hit into the opposing team's players, while trying to get the quaffle. Our chasers need to watch out for that. Make sure you are looking around at all times. Their Keeper isnt all to good either. I mean he has been with the team for awhile but he is deffinatly more talk than real action when playing." Harry spoke as he nodded and made sure everyone was listening to him
"We are a Brilliant team! We always work together and know exactly when to act. We will win this game, there is no doubt in my mind we are capable of doing so. We just need the encouragment and the will to do things when we are out on the feild. Dont be shy if you want to do something- pounce take action. I know we can beat the Slytherin Team! And We most deffinatly will!" Harry went on as he ending in a good tone. He knew the team was ready but they just needed to be pushed into action.

Pansy walked into the Slytherin locker room and rolled her eyes in disgust, Crabbe was here. Pansy didn’t understand how someone so thick could possibly make the team, she knew of course Draco did tons for Crabbe and Goyle, but getting them on the team? Sitting down at the cleanest looking locker, Pansy began to put on her new pads and gloves. It took her a while once more to figure out which way was up but she eventually got them on right. Dawn then got up and began to give a long-winded speech about how important the game was and this and that. Pansy really didn’t understand or care, it was just a game what was the bloody point in getting all worked up? So they were playing Gryffindor and Potter was on the team, that was a good thing. The buffoon Crabbe could simply hit Potter with his bat or something.
When Dawn came over and sat with her, Pansy didn’t really understand what the deal was. She was a chaser, all she had to do was get the Kaffle or whatever it was called and throw it through the yellow loops, what was so hard about that? And furthermore why would she lose her temper? Pansy shrugged and ignored most of what Dawn had said and instead rubbed her fingers along her brand new Firebolt while she waited for everyone to leave the locker room.

Amelia smiled from her bench. This was her first game and she was ready to play! She was excited and very happy she made chaser. Harry started to give the team a 'Pep Talk' and Amelia stopped lacing her shoes and looked up to listen. She couldn't help but feel even more pumped up for the game. She beamed up at him and finished lacing her shoes.
After her gloves were on, Amelia stood and closed her new locker. She could feel her heart pounding, feeling even more anxious. She sighed happily and waited for everyone to get ready so she could go out onto the feild. She wasn't sure if she was to wait or she could go out now... so she waited.

Parvati's palms were sweating, not good for being a Beater. She sighed as she listened to Harry give his speech, and instantly the sweating went away. She turned to Amelia, smiled encouragingly and pulled her hair back into a pony tail. She put the goggles on and grabbed her Nimbus 2000. Her heart racing with every step she took she walked out onto the pitch, mounted her broom, and flew up.
The wind rushed through her hair and stray strands came loose. She flew around wondering if she would need to take it out during the game, most likely. In her right hand was her bat and it felt as if it belonged in her hand. It wasn't too heavy and she was perfectly happy with the way it "tingled" as she swung it slightly, practicing her swing.

Perseus practiced twirling his beater's bat at blinding speeds, as he listened intently to Dawn's speech. Over the summer, Perseus had practiced very hard on ameliorating his skills as a beater by encompassing martial arts training into his sessions. By the end of the summer, he had perfected a form that was an amalgamation of taekwondo and ju jit su, not only for skill as a beater, but, also for dueling purposes. He did not wish to hurt anyone on the Gryffindor Team, but, if need be, he would take out all of his frustrations on the opposing team. After Dawn's lecture, the team filed out and Perseus walked out onto the field with his Firebolt over his shoulder.
The sun was not very clear and cold winds were accumulating. It would be a hard game in this type of weather. Grabbing ahold of his Firebolt, Perseus flew onto the field and circled it several times before the game began.....

Robin didn't take much time to get ready. He dressed quickly and got out his Beater's bat and listened to Harry's little pep talk, smiling at their team Captain when he finished. Robin wasn't very nervous, but his smile was uncharacteristically grimmer than usual. This game was to be against the Slytherins, and everyone knew about the enmity between the Gryffindors and the Slytherins. Robin couldn't wait to be out on the pitch and in the air. "As soon as I'm out there, those Slytherins won't know what hit them," he thought. "If those slimy Slytherins can be aggressive, so can we." Robin's eyes narrowed slightly, and he swung his bat forcefully before him as he thought this.

Post by Nasser Salah G6 on Nov 14, 2004 10:34:06 GMT
Nasser sat down between Seamus and Katie, quieter than was even usual for him. It was his first real match, for this was the first year for him actually on the team and not on the reserve. He hoped he would play well and perhaps score one or two goals for Gryffindor. Nasser frowned a little as he thought abut the upcoming game. The Slytherins always played dirty, everybody knew that. The Gryffindors however did have one advantage against their enemies. They were much more co-operative with each other and despite the fact that he and Seamus were new to the team Harry had had them practise so much working with each other and with Katie that the three Chasers now knew how to work with each other efficiently.
Nasser listened to Harry's pep talk and prepared himself to leave the changing room and walk out onto the pitch. He hoped his nerves would not fail him and he could make his house proud. "Harry's right," he told himself determinedly. "We can do this, let's show those Slytherins how proper teams can play!"

Katie walked into the locker room a bit nervous today. This would be her last year of Quidditch so she had to make the most of it and get the cup once more for Gryffindor. However today would be the first time in five years that she would be playing for Gryffindor but her partners Alicia Spinnet and Aneglina Johnson wouldn’t. Together the three of them had formed one of the strongest chaser lines Hogwarts had seen in years. However Alicia and Angelina had graduated the previous year and now Katie had new partners, Nasser who had proven himself capable during practices but had never seen actual game time. Also was Amelia, a new player to the team.
Sitting down with the other chasers Katie pulled on her pads and secured them extra tight as it was Slytherin and they were without question the dirtiest team at Hogwarts. Whereas the other three teams showed sportsmanship and never meant ill will to the other teams, Slytherins seemed more intent at times to inflict as many injuries as they could rather than play Quidditch. Intently Katie listened to Harry’s talk, when he had finished she stood up as well. “I want to add onto what Harry said” she said as she picked up her Comet 260. “Don’t be intimidated by the Slytherins, they play dirty, you are going to get hit and most of it will be behind the play so Madam Hooch won’t be able to see it. But don’t lose your cool and try to get revenge, let Robin and Parvati know so they can do it for you! Last week Ravenclaw won because their chasers played well, we are just as good as they are, so lets be aggressive and go after the Quaffle every chance! Come on we can beat Slytherin, and there is nothing better than seeing that weasel boy’s face every year when Harry gets the snitch and he doesn’t!” Katie then walked to the doorway and waited for Harry to give the word for them to go out on the pitch.

Cedric made his way out to the dressing room. It was a cooler morning than the day before and the sun was covered by clouds. This was good making it so he could se but if it began raining it would be hell to play in. Cedric entered the locker room and looked around. Most of the team had already gotten there. Cedric went and sat down on a bench infront of his locker and started taking off his clothes.
When Cedric had finally gotten his boots on he sat there for a minute in silence. This is what I have been training my whole life for he thought to himself This is my life, to play quidditch. Cedric stood up and looked around. Most of the team was done and he sat there and listened to Dawns speach. She was right. Slytherin was a better team and they should beat Gryffindor like it's nothing. The only thing that scared Cedric was the fact that one of the chasers didn't ussualy play. "We'll be fine" he silenty said to himself as he shouldered his broom.
Cedric walked out onto the pitch with everyone else and as he did he felt at home. The sounds of the fans, the smell of the pitch and the sight of it all put Cedric at ease. He walked out to the middle of the pitch and waited for Madam Hooch to start the game.

Madam Hooch blew her whistle after both teams had been in the air for 5 minutes. As both teams landed she went over her usual speach, though she knew it was falling on deaf ears today. "Alright I want a good clean game, no funny business up there. Any foul I see will result in an IMMEDIATE penalty shot! Alright then, on your brooms." Madam Hooch then kicked open the trunk and released the tiny snitch, then the two iron bludgers took off and flew into the air, she then grabbed the quaffle and held it in her hands. "On my whistle. Three, two, one!" Madam Hooch blew her whistle sending both teams into the air and she then threw the quaffle straight up into the air.
(( Opening face off dice roll

Katie 2+2=4, Dawn 3+3=6

The whistle suddenly blew. Dawn mounded her broom as she made a 'Come on' motion with her hand. Pushing off the ground Dawn barreled through the hallway and out onto the pitch. Circling the pitch a around about for three times, Dawn went to her place in the middle of the field. Right above the circle. Dawn glared at The Gryffindor who was placed in front of her, Katie Bell. She was up against her many times in this game- Dawn never liked her style.
Maddam Hooch spoke as she said their would be a penalty shot if there is any foul play. Turning and looking at pansy with those words, Dawn got back into the game.
The Quaffle shot into the air. Trailling behind Dawn reached out into the air as she grabbed the quaffle and hid it tightly under her left arm. Guiding her broom with her right arm Dawn stayed behind as many peopel flew past her. Looking to her right she saw Israel. Getting the quaffle into her hands she hurled it toward her with all her might.

"Here Here!" Harry said as Katie spoke. She had been playing longer than him. She also was a chaser so she knew a little more with the Slytherin team than he did.
The whistle blew as Harry began to smile. "Here we go everyone. Get your game faces on!" he said as she mounted his broom and shot out into the pitch.
The Game began as Harry watched the snitch fly off into the distance. Waiting above everyone Harry watched as Dawn got the quaffle, wondering what the Gryffindor team was going to act since the game started.

It was quidditch time at Hogwarts and today Slytherin was playing Gryffindor, and Israel Moon was on the team as chaser. She looked out the window at the sky as she put on her quidditch robes. The weather was moderate, not the best to play in, but there was nothing to be done about that. She put on the last of her garments, grabbed her broom and walked out of her dorm.
It was a quick walk to the pitch, not many were out yet, the game was starting in another hour, but she wanted time to warm up first. She walked into the locker room, some of her teammates were there already there, she greeted them and then walked out onto the pitch. She looked into the air, she hoped it didn’t rain, and then hopped on her broom and kicked off into the air.
Saski darted this way and that practicing her techniques for the game, she and another chaser practiced throwing to each other. Very soon however, it was time to stop practicing and start the game, as she spotted Madam Hooch coming onto the field. She landed her broom and listened to the usual speech, on having a good clean game and all that, “Israel didn’t care she just wanted to start.
Madam Hooch gave the signal and Israel was in the air again, the whistle blew and Dawn and Katie made a rush for the quaffle, but Dawn got it first. Israel darted behind her as she threw the quaffle and stretched out her arms to catch it.

Vincent mounted his brrom and rose sharply into the air as Madam Hooch's whistle blew. He wasn't the quickest of the players, nor the most skilled, but he did have power.
Vincent knew who his first target of the game was, and he immediately looked round to find him. After this he would start targeting the Gryffindor Chasers, but for now, his target was Potter.
There he was. Vincent searched for a Bludger, found one and swung his bat back to propel the Bludger towards Potter.

Robin kicked off the ground strongly and felt the cold air brush against his face as he did so. Robin's eyes narrowed slightly as he realized that Madam Hooch was not going to waste any time. The Slytherins were quite ready he could see, and it seemed that one of their Chasers had flown towards the Quaffle in the same instant Madam Hooch blew her whistle. Robin flew towards the closest Bludger he could find before one of the Slytherin Beaters could get to it and hit it strongly towards the seventh year Israel Moon.

Nasser's grim expression did not leave him as he followed his teammates on to the pitch and flew up into the air, hovering in between Katie and Dean. The Slytherins were giving the Gryffindors some of their dirtiest looks, which Nasser was glad to fully return. Although the weather condition were definitely not the best for Quidditch Nasser hardly registered this fact for he had other worries. He wanted to play well, and if the weather was bad he was not going to allow that to affect him in any way from doing his best. The minute Madam Hooch blew her whistle Nasser watched as Katie flew towards the Quaffle to try and catch it hoping she would seize it before a Slytherin Chaser managed to do so. Dawn however caught it first and passed to Israel Moon, another Chaser. Nasser flew towards her trying to intercept the pass, holding on to his broom tightly with his legs to keep his balance.
((I am passing the Quaffle to Katie if I get it.))
