Ayumi yawned, she looked up at the sky and saw that the sun was begining to set. It drowned in sea of crimson clouds that exposed a dark blue sky. Ayumi was lying in the grass at the outskirts of Hogsmeade. She lay on her back and watched they day go by. Her black robe lieing listlessly on the ground. Today, Ayumi was wearing a pair of black leather pants with a matching leather jacket, which lay over a black tanktop.
Ayumi stretched her arms out, she was exhausted from boredom. She sat up and removed the headband from her hair and brushed the blach strands back, smoothing them out and them replacing the headband. She looked around, no one, nothing, was moving, except for her. She looked down a redid a buckle on her boots and then stood up. Daylight was fading, and nightfall would soon come, nature was working it's magic.
Ayumi began walking, away from the patch of grass she lay on, and towards a looming shack, that stood on a hill, threatening to come tumbling down. It groaned in the non exsistent wind and let out loud creaks that sounded eeriely like the shrieks of hopeless souls.
Ayumi shuddered, it was the Shrieking Shack, it was so harmless in a way, yet somehow so fearful. Ayumi grinned, she looked up at the shack which was beginig to turn dark like the sky. She decided that today she would visit the shack, and explore it. She wanted to know, what exactly was in here. If there was something, then that would be a fond memory of her's and also a worthy discovery. If not, then Ayumi could look on the optimistic view and say that at least she had went inside.
She stopped, and stood in front of a creaking metal gate, no doubt to keep people out, but definitly not her. She clutched the gate and slowly pushed it opening, keeping her eyes locked on her destination.

What? Was someone else here? Raven didn't think anyone but her ever came here. Afterall, this was her hiding place. She looked through a crack to see who had joined her. It was a girl. Who is she? Raven wondered silently. Should she try to talk to her? She walked out of the corner and into the light. "Um, hello. I'm Raven."

Ayumi had already pushed the gate open and was walking up the steep hill. "Perfect timing" she thought as the sun had finally reached it's set. She fixed he entirely black attire and buckled her boots yet again. Her platforms crushed a few shards of glass on the ground. Ayumi bent down and picked up on of the, her finger then began to bleed. "Heh, sharp." She said throwing the shard away and walking towards the front door.
Ayumi looked at the wooden door. It creaked in the silent wind, wavering in a notion that looked as if it was telling her to go away. Ayumi grinned, just her type of fun. She walked passed the door, and into the dingy house. A musty smell reached her nose and covered it with dust, she sneezed and whacked away at the invisible air.
"Now, what exactly do you hold?" Ayumi said aloud, as if speaking to the shrieking as if it were a person. She walked forward. Her platfrom boots clunking on the wooden floor. She was doing fine, accustomed to the sounds, when she heard an unfamiliar sound. Instantly she turned around, her crimson eyes flaring, ready to attack who ever was behind her.
Her eyes met with a small girl, maybe her age. Her name was Raven, that's what Ayumi heard. Ayumi stood up straight, calming down and crossing her arms across her chest. "What are you doing here?" She said roughly. "My name's Ayumi. I don't remember seeing you anywhere around here before." SHe said staring the girl up and down. "Ah you're a mudblood, sorry, i meant you're a muggle-born, WHAT are you doing here?"

"Oh, I sit in here sometimes when I don't feel like going home. My uncle doesn't like the idea of magic too much," Raven answered nervously. What did that mean? Mud-blood? Was it bad? "Yes, I'm muggle-born, but I'm starting my first year at Hogwarts this term." She was proud of this and held her head a little higher when answering this question. "The reason you've never seen me here before is because I often hide in that back corner." She pointed to a dusty corner in the back of the room. "I'm going to be in Ravenclaw First year- how about you, Ayumi, wasn't it?"

Ayumi listend to the girl, pushing her bang behind her ear. She normally did this whenever she was going into a conversation. The musty room was now filling up with a cool breeze, causing Ayumi's black robe to shift to her left side a little, ruffling in the breeze. Ayumi stood taller than the girl, but of course, she was wearing platform boots.
"Well Raven, pleased to meet you, in a not too pleasant place. Still don't get why a mud- uh muggleborn like you is doin' here in the Shreiking Shack, but I guess that explains it a little." She said nodding at Raven's reply.
"First year, are ya, should have known, hm Ravenclaw, ah so you're the second, anyway, I'm in Gryffindor. She said her hands now on her hips, as she stood tall and proud. First year as well." She said, she saw that it was getting really dark, and her crimson eyes began to look like a bloody red.
"Look, you shouldn't be here, you're a mudblood, the shrieking shack isn't safe, especially with the like's of you here. Come on, let's get out of here." She said wavering her hand so that Raven would follow. The wind blew stronger, and the shack began to creak, treathening to fall on top of them.
As they walked out of the Shack Ayumi spoke, "Raven hm, That's my owl's name, mean's black as night." She said voicing it for no apparent reason.

Well, Ayumi seemed friendly enough. She had a confident way about her that made her seem as if she knew exactly where she was going. Raven decided she may as well follow. Afterall, it was getting dark and this room did seem pretty musty. Was this how all the girls at Hogwarts acted? If so, ten she would never fit in. Raven followed Ayumi out the front door of the Shrieking Shack and into the fading sunlight. The streets weren't as busy as they had been when she had first come to Hogsmeade. For this she was grateful.
"So where do you come from originally?" Raven asked Ayumi. She also wondered if her parents were wizards, but she did not want to impose. She also wondered why Ayumi ore so much black. In the muggle world, many young people wore black only when they were 'goths' or depressed. But Ayumi seemed neither of these. There were many things she had yet to learn about this person, but continued to follow her.
"Where are we going?"

Ayumi saw that the streets had lessened, it less filled, it's dark streets inhabitated only by squibs. "Damn squibs." She said coldly, eyeing one. "What are the likes of them doing here, there's always here." She added harshly under her voice. Her black hair swayed back with her black cloak. Ayumi would have perfectly fit into a shadow with all the black she wore. That's how she liked it to be.
Ayumi looked back at Raven to see that she was following, "Stay close Ray." She said harshly, "Those damn squibs always try something stupid when they see mud-ugh muggleborns like you." She said.
She was startled by Raven's question, after all it was pretty random. "My family's orginally from Japan, I'm a Kimoto." She said proudly, but with a grave face. "A proud generation of purebloods, sadly, I'm a halfblood, nothing compared to the likes of them." She added.
She looked sternly at Raven, though they were the same age, ayumi acted as if she were a mother. "We're going to take you home, that's where we're going" She said, quickening her pace.

"No! I mean, no. We shouldn't go to my home. Um, my uncle, he doesn't like unannounced guests," Raven explained. She did not want this stranger to go to home and witness how she lived. Though her uncle was not cruel, he did not approve of magic and would be very angry if she brought home another Hogwarts student.
"Perhaps, we can, um, maybe, get soething to eat. Or,um, something. You don't need to walk me home. I can get there myself and I would hate to waste your time. " This was true. It did appear that Ayumi would have something better to do. She seemed the type to always have a busy schedule and not want to waste her time on someone like Raven.
"I'll even buy you an icecream, if you'd like," Raven offered. She looked pleadingly toward Ayumi.

Ayumi looked at Raven, and stopped in her tracks, "Quit you're groveling will you, I'm not walking you home." She removed a small leather pouch from her robe pocket. "This here is floo powder, you're getting home with this." She said, "and there is no way I'm staying in Hogsmeade this late, it's infested with squibs." She said loudly, a few squibs cursing at her.
She lowered her voice and stared Raven in the eye, "but perhaps if you don't feel comfortable going home now, you can stay at mine manor for a few minutes and relax a bit. A night in the shreiking shack turns people a little crazy." She said as she continued walking, the pouch swinging in her hand.

Floo Powder? How on earth was she suppose to use that? You can't use that to get home.Powder can't just make you appear somewhere, can it? Of coarse not. What was she thinking? Perhaps it was Ayumi who had turned a bit crazy. And what was this squid nonsense she was talking about. Squids lived in water and she saw none around her. There weren't even any fish. Nit even an aquarium. And did this girl really have a manor? What was she? A princess? She certainly acted like one.
"Yes, I would like to visit your manor, but I don't see any squid."

((he he Ayumi lives in a castle LOL))
Ayumi continued walking, "Course you can't see the squib." She said cooly, "You can't tell how they look, matter a fact, she that man their, he's a squib." She added pointing to a man.
They continued walking, until they final reached a oub named The Three BroomSticks. She stepped inside and stood infront of a roaring fireplace, "I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you know nothing about the floo system. So you'll be traveling with me." She said extending her left hand which had a black leather glove on it, so that Raven could hold on to it. "Just keep you hands and feet at your sides, don't wanna loose nothing." She said, her right hand clutched something tightly, and she stood in front of the fire.
She tossed the floo powder into the flames, which roared and turned green. She walked inside, pulling Raven after her. "Kimoto Manor!" Ayumi said loudly, and a great roar erupted, with a warm tingly sensation. And in a blink of an eye they were flying through different fireplaces.

What? Did she expecy Raven to get in the fire? Oh, no. That ws not going to happen. But before Raven new what was happening Ayumi had grabbed her hand and had threw the powder into the fire. The was a warm sensation over her body yet it did not burn. Raven shut her eyes tightly and held on even tighter to Ayumi's hand. When she opened her eyes they stood in room, which greatly resembled the ballroom Raven remembered from Cinderella. There was a marble staircase and a beautiful chandelier hanging from the ceiling.
"Is this really where you live?" Raven asked in astonishment. After seeing this room, she completely forgot that she had traveled through a fireplace by magic powder.

Ayumi walked out of the fireplace, welcomed by her eeirly empty home. The many potraits of the Kimoto family hung on the wall. Staring down at them, with their grave expressions. Ayumi brushed some soot off her robe and clothes, and removed both her robe and leather jacket and hung it on a rack that looked somewhat like a dead tree.
While she fixed her black tanktop and finished dusty her leather pants, she listened to Raven's question. "Yep, this is what you might call home sweet home." She said with no emotion. She walked over to a tall black leather chair and seated herself. She poured herself a cup of warm green tea from the stand that stood next to her. "WOuld you like a cup?" She asked Raven. "Sit down" she added.

Raven sat in the adjacent chair and took the tea offered to her.
"My Nihongo teacher, Kawakubo Sensee, gave me some of this once. I haven't had any since," Raven said as she tipped the cup to her lips. Until now she hadn't realized how thirsty she was.
"Where are your parents, or do you live here alone?" It didn't seem like a girl her age would live by herself, but she had seen stranger things today.

Ayumi looked down at her tea when Raven asked that question. She swirled it a bit, then looked back up. "My mom is in Holland, she's a hunter, not the type where you kill animals" She said reassuringly "She hunts Wych-kin. As for my dad, he's a muggle and he is the owner of this successful business, and he's on a business trip in New york." She said finishing her tea and placing it down on the tray. She stood up and walked towards the fireplace, watching the flames.

Suddenly Raven felt sorry for Ayumi. She had never had a close relationship with her grandmother, but at least she was always there. She finished the last of her tea and stood up.
"I don't have parents. I live with my grandmother," Raven said as if she expected that to help.

Ayumi continued looking at the flames. THen she spoke, "My deepest apologies about you're parents." She said. then she turned around and looked at Raven, trying not to sound rude, "So, uh when do you plan to get home?" She asked Raven, who seemed content in her Manor. Then again who wouldn't.

"Well, I could leave now. Uh, yeah, I think I'll go now," Raven said. She certainly did not want to overstay her welcome. Ayumi had been friendly enough.
"So, I'll just go now. I'll see you at school then?"

"Curses" Ayumi muttered to herself, her soft side was begining to reveal. Raven, didn't seem so intent on leaving and Ayumi couldn't help but feel guilty for making her leave when she didn't want to leave.
She looked at Raven and said slowly, "L-look, if you don't want to go now, you can stay awhile and leave like whenever you want, the house is empty afterall. So I guess it would be nice to have company." Ayumi said looking at Raven

Did she really mean this, Raven wondered, or was she just trying to be nice? Then she looked around the room. It seemed so empty. Ayumi must get lonely here all alone.
"I guess, I could stay, if you're sure you don't mind," Raven said. She really didn't want to go home but she didn't want to stay where she wasn't wanted either. The look on Ayumi's face told her that there was something, or really someone, under this tough exterior. But would Ayumi let her see this side?
