Potions Class (all; groups of 3)

[Professor Severus Snape]

Letting out a long muffled sigh under his breath Snape looked around his classroom, this was going to be a long class. "It would appear I left one little thing out. You are making the cure before you make the love potion itself for two reasons. One being it would be foolishly dangerous to try and make the cure after one has drank the potion and two the mere fact that the cure has to cool for a no less then 30 minutes. Which would mean even if you made the cure after drinking the potion you would be like that for near or over an hour." Snape scowled, he undoubtably was going insane.

"No one is to drink the love potion until after the cure is made, which is what you should be working on right now, and only with my go ahead." Snape sat down behind his desk and made the list, of steps for the love potion cure, appear on the board behind him.

Love Potion Cure
Directions:
Step 1: Simmer horehound syrup in a cauldron.
Step 2: Make sure tulip petals are completely crushed.
Step 3: Add in lavender and tulip petals, stir until potion turns purple.
Step 4: Start stiring counter clockwise after potion turns purple.
Step 5: Add in ashwinder venom and chervil and boil, reduce by 1/2.
Step 6: Turn up heat for 3 minutes stirring occasinally, clockwise.
Step 7: Add unicorn horn and phoenix tears, carefully stirring to ensure it is totally mixed.
Step 8: Take off flame, let cool for 15 minutes, then transfer remaining potion into a cup or potion vile.
Step 9: Let posion become room tempiture before drinking.
Step 10: Victim must drink entire dose to be cured.


((Sorry I haven't checked in or anything, dad ran over the phone line or something and its still messed up.
The phone problem is why I posted all the steps to the first potion because I don't know when I'll be able to log back on next, shouldn't be to many days at a time, I can't live that long without internet ;D))

Drusilia hadn't said if she was going to drink the potion or not yet so Julie thought she'd make the cure while Drusilia thought about it. She poured the horehound syrup into the cauldron after Jacob set fire to the wood below it. The tulip petals were already crushed so she added the fine powder and the lavender, and soon the potion turned purple. She then added the ashwinder venom and chervil leaving the potion to boil, the disgusting odour of the ashwinder making her cough. The next thing to do was reduce the potion by half, and Julie did so, then turned up the heat using the usual incantantion and stirred. She performed the last two steps and then stood by the cauldron and said an incantation, and the flames below the cauldron disappeared. The cure would be ready to drink as soon as it cooled.

Drusilia pulled a face. "I suppose I was to late in saying 'there's no way your gonna get me to drink it' so..." Drusilia pulled a another face. "I suppose I have to pretty much don't I?"

"Hey Goyle? Why don't you drink the potion? It should be somewhat amusing to watch." Kimi smiled sweetly the boy and waited a few moments. Kimi smiled again after the small wait, "good now that that is settled lets get to work!" With that Kimi set to work on the love potion cure.

Kimi went through all the boring steps of the potion with all the waiting and stiring and adding of ingrediants. Looking down at the horrable smelling near finished product Kimi grimaced and moved back a little, she didn't have to smell the thing in ordor for it to cool!

[Gregory Goyle Jr.]

Goyle looked at the Slytherin girl dumbstruck. The next thing he knew he was going to take some love potion and he was watching her work on its cure. Goyle looked to Draco, almost hopefuly, trying to figure out what just happened.

Raidon smiled at Kim, "we're doing a love potion. I for one don't want to take the thing, I'd make a idiot of myself. But you on the other hand, would be adorable!" Raidon smiled as he walked off to get the potion ingrediants. Coming back he sat them down and smiled at Kim again, "now what do you think? Feeling up to taking the potion?" Raidon started to work on the love potion cure while waiting for her answer.

Seeing that everyone was getting to work on the cure Snape turned towards the board. Beside the directions to the first potion Snape made the second potions directios appear. "Another member of your group can now gather the needed ingredients for the second potion. And start on the love potion in another cauldron, of course."

Directions:
Step 1: Simmer the milk in a cauldron. Reduce by ½. <br>Step 2: Add the belladonna and billiwig stings and stir until the potion turns pink.
Step 3: Crack the ashwinder eggs and scramble in a stone bowl or mortar. Add to the cauldron, stirring constantly.
Step 4: When mixed completely, add the hairs and bring to a boil.
Step 5: Potion should turn dark red, then clear.
