Richard walked into the Great Hall with Patricia, smiling. He was having a great time. First he became friends with Patricia and Rachel, and now he was going to have dinner with Patricia. Spotting an empty table, he motioned towards it. "Do you want to sit here?" He asked, pulling out a chair for her. He took a seat himself. He smiled, hoping Patricia was having a good time. Patricia was his first friend at Hogwarts, and he wanted her to enjoy his company. He looked down at the table shyly. "So what do you normally do in your spare time?" He asked, hoping to start a conversation.

Patricia smiled. This wasn’t going to be all bad. She thought... She seat next to Richard. “Oh not much” She said with a smile. “I write my own stories, mostly. I love to write, read the basic. And draw… I love to draw, but I am not good at it.” She said with and awkward smile. “How about you. What do you do?” she asked looking up at him with a welcoming smile.

"You write?" Richard asked suddenly, leaning forward. Patricia wrote? That was fantastic, he wrote too. Normally he wouldn't tell anybody, because he found it extremely personal, and also he normally didn't have the chance to tell anybody, but he smiled at Patricia. "I actually write too. I write stories and poems, mostly," he blushed a little bit and then smiled again. "You could read some of mine if you wanted sometime. I normally won't let anybody read them, even my little sisters, but I don't mind if you do," he said shyly. Richard looked to the table. "And I'm sure you're a great artist. What sort of stuff do you normally draw? Like portraits? Or landscape?" He enquired earnestly, taking a sip of water.

Patricia smiled. “Wow.. you write.” She laughed. “I would love to see some of your stuff sometime, I am sure your really good” She said with a cool smile.. “I write poetry and stories, most of the time, songs. But I paint people that I think are interesting, or just doodles in class. I made one portrait, of my sister. She has it home, though. But I really would like to see some of your poems sometime, what kind of poetry do you right?” She was amazed, her and Richard had a lot. In commen, Strangly.
Patricia was enjoying herself. She wasn’t as shy around him anymore. She thought this was fun.

"I write mostly free verse poems, and a few rhymes. Mostly free verse because it seems to capture beauty easier," he said, smiling. He was starting to loosen up now that they were really talking. He was still a bit disappointed Rachel couldn't have come, but he was really enjoying himself. "I would love to see some of your paintings too. Maybe you can show me one sometime," Richard suggested, smiling shyly. He couldn't believe how easy it was to talk to Patricia, and the fact they enjoyed all the same things was amazing. "What kind of poems do you write?" He asked.

Patricia really enjoyed this conversation. They actually had stuff, in commen and she was flattered that he wanted to see some of her art work “Pretty much whatever I feel at the time. It all depends on stuff that happens… to me.” She smiled. “I would show you some of my art that is if I had some with me. I only have doodles in the common room. And pretty much everybody hates me in there….because well….oh never mind. It is not important” She said turning her head away smiling with embarrassment.

Richard looked at her Patricia in confusion. "That's OK, you can show it to me anytime...but, excuse me if this is impolite, but why do you think everyone hates you in your common room?" He asked. Richard honestly wanted to know, but he hoped it didn't sound impertinent. He didn't want her to feel uncomfortable, but he was curious. Patricia had mentioned it a few times now. "It's OK if you don't want to answer, I was just curious. You can trust me," he said, smiling.

Patricia looked at him worried. “Well….”she began “I did something pretty bad for my house… lets say” She ran her fingers through her blonde hair. “ I lost us 110 points. Plus another ten in class. Now we are down -55 points, thanks to me” She looked at him with wide eyes and worry. “So I am really not the, favorite of my house.”

Richard looked at Patricia for a second, and then burst out laughing. "You lost your house 120 points? By yourself? That's great!" He laughed. "You should be proud, I can't think of anyone whose done that before," he said smiling. "Hey, don't worry about it. They'll get over it, and if they don't, I'll protect you," he said, smiling. And then he started laughing again. He had never met anyone who done anything like that. Well, that wasn't saying a lot since he hadn't really met a lot of people, but he still found it funny. Then, thinking it might not be polite to laugh, he bit his lip. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I just thought...I'm sorry," he said, hoping she wasn't mad at him.

Patricia looked at him a little sad… then thought about it “yeah it is kind of funny isn’t it….but mind you I didn’t do by self Rachel Helped. “She laughed. It wasn’t that bad, actually it was pretty hilarious now that she thought about it. “First week after winter break and I lost my house 120 points worth. Wow that is a record.” She said with a smirk “We snuck out past curfew to the forbidden forest…..we are so bad” she said with a laugh.

"You guys are bad!" Richard laughed, thankful that she didn't think he was insulting her, because he really wasn't. He thought it was amazing that someone could lose that many points in so short an amount of time. "And Rachel too? That's really funny," he said, smiling. "Hey, what's the Forbidden Forest like?" He asked, leaning forward. He'd always wanted to know, but he had never actually ever considered going there. But since Patricia had... "Not that I want to go or anything, I was just wondering. "And why did you go?"

Patricia smiled, wow he actually thought it was cool, “Well we were board… and wanted to do something. So we flew to the forbidden forest.” She leaned back in the chair. “It was amazing. The trees seemed taller than the castle,” She looked at him Smiling, she liked Richard, he was fun. “The mause on the ground and on the trees, moved. It was amazing and well, before we got caught, I saw an awesome spider. Have you herded the rumors about the spiders?” She asked with eyes of gleam.

"Oh yeah, I've heard most of them...actually, no, to be honest, I haven't," Richard admitted. Patricia wouldn't mind if he didn't mind, he thought. "But it sounds amazing," he said. The thought of going there scared him more than he liked to admit, but it sounded so interesting. Richard suddenly wondered what his sisters were doing. He realised he hadn't thought of them since he told Patricia about them in the hall. He was surprised, normally he thought about them constantly. I must really like Patricia, he thought. Smiling at her, he took a drink of his water, hoping Patricia wouldn't see him blush. I'm such a dork, he thought in dismay.

Patricia smiled at him while taking a bight of her spaghetti. And then dabbed her mouth with a napkin. And swallowed. “Well the rumors are amazing I have always been fascinated with Spider’s, ever since I was little.” She took a sip of her pumpkin juice. “They say that, there are huge spiders, as big as trolls in the forest. And well when I saw that spider crawl over my foot in the forest, I just wanted to go find it.” She then sat back in the chair. “I am probably weirding you out, Most girls don’t like spiders and snakes like I do?” She said biting her bottom lip. She was hopping Richard didn’t think she was odd or weird. Or too guyish.

Richard stared wide eyed at Patricia. "That is amazing. I have never heard of spiders as big as trolls," he said in wonder. "Oh, my little sister, Sky, is fascinated with spiders and snakes. She loves them. She has pets and posters, so I don't think you're weird at all. In fact, you would probably like her. She's really outspoken and confident, and hates injustice," he said. Then he paused. "Sorry, tell me if I talk about my sisters too much. I just love them," he murmured as he cringed. His parents were always telling him that while it was great he talked about his little sisters, that talking only about them might, well, bore some people. He hoped he wasn't being boring.

Patricia smiled, she liked the fact that he talked about his sisters. She always thought about her sister all the time. “ Wow I talk a lot about my little sister as well, her name is Sierra you would like her she is……well really…really” She smiled and awkward smile talking about her. “She is really, really nice….like too nice, it is sickening” She laughed. “And I think is amazing your sister really likes spiders and snakes. Wow that is so cool. Does she have one? I have a spider myself. His name is Bob7, all the rest died. My mother killed them, she hates spiders. I would find poisones ones in our backyard and keep them, and they would lay eggs--- oh god hear I am rambling again. I tend to do that?” She laughed a shy smile. She was enjoying this. Nobody really liked to speek to her usually. They would walk away by now…well that is because Patricia was rather mean to people. But she liked being nice. It was defiantly a change for her.

"Yeah, Sky has about three spiders. They have to be non-poisonous though, that's one of mum's rules. So she researches them all and finds ones that aren't poisonous. It's really cute. She takes really good care of them too. I don't know their breeds or anything, but there's Clancy, George and Frederick. Little sisters are great," he said, glad that he wasn't boring Patrica. "I'm sorry to hear about your spiders though. Does your little sister likes spiders as well? I would love to meet Sierra. She sounds really cool," he said, his hair flopping into his eye. Richard hated it when it did that, so he pushed it back and smiled at Patrica. He couldn't beieve how much they had in common.

Patricia smiled when his hair fell... “Don’t you hate when that happens.” She laughed and her blond curls fell in her face, she blew at it and it flew up and fell back in the same place. She clew at it again and it flipped and she kept trying to get it out of her face. Then she finally just moved it with her hands and tucked it behind her ears, and smiled.
“Sierra doesn’t like spiders. She pretty much hates anything that crawls but she has to take care of Bob while I am gone. Or mum will get rid of him.” She said with a little laugh. “It bloody well sucks that I couldn’t bring him. Instead I brought my father’s old owl. Oh what an old foul git he is.” She laughed “all smelly and all.” What animal do you have did you bring one?” She said with a smile taking a sip of her pumpkin juice.

"I have a cat named Parment that Izzy gave to me last Christmas. Parment's the best, I love her!" Richard said, smiling, thinking of his cat. "I wrote a really awful poem about her," he laughed, before taking a sip of water. It actually was very awful, he wrote it when she was just a kitten, and wouldn't let anyone pat her except Richard. He grinned at the memory of his father trying to pick her up, and Parment biting him. "Stupid cat," his father had said, pretending to glare at her before giving the kitten rueful grin. Everyone had laughed, and Richard had then proudly claimed her. "That's good of Sierra to do that while you're gone," he said, smiling.

Patricia smiled, she really liked Richard. He was fun.
She was, enjoying… and well he was a boy. She was talking to a boy. She blushed “Yeah sadly… I don’t trust her with bob” she laughed. “Oh who is…Izzy, if you don’t mind me asking?”
