Well I really hoped this wouldn't happen, but the time has come for me to let you all know that we might not be able to continue the Heartburn plot.

Our third Jason has decided to drop his character, and at this point it isn't likely that we'll be able to find another. So...I have no idea what to do. I really don't want to drop Julie because I absolutely love her character. So here's a few options. Hopefully you guys can help me come to a final decision.

1) We can just end the plot. Drop all the characters and start fresh. Maybe with the open character slot we'll have, we can come up with a completely new plot with different characters. I'd rather not drop Julie, but I guess if everyone else is willing to help me out with a new plot, it won't be too bad.

2) We continue the plot. We could attempt to find a fourth person to play Jason, which could take ages. Probably not the smartest thing to do, and Heartburn would be put on hold for a very long time.

3) Keep our characters, but find a way to continue the plot without Jason. We could change it around a little...or a lot. Or we could find complete different paths for our characters and place them in seperate plots.

So what path do you think we should all take?

Well, I'm not going to drop Vi whatever. I adore her too much. Plus I've already slipped her into a mini-plot thang with Ben which suits her nicely- this wouldn't have overrun Heartburn of course, it's just a side thing. But yes, I adore Viola and won't drop her. XD However if everyone is very keen on a new plot entirely I can call up a character slot in a short while I think. Although I'm not particularly keen on that myself, as I've already got a 5th year Huffie in line.

=/ I'm not happy about waiting for a 4th Jason either. It's breaking the plot up, and the diverse roleplaying techniques used make it difficult to hold the Heartburn flow.

So basically I go with option three. I'm sure if we put our heads together we can come up with another idea for the plot... maybe? Obviously Jason is one of the most vital characters so um. *smacks brain* That might take a bit of thought, if Julie is set in Julie-Darcy-Jason mode.

Whatever happens, Viola is here to stay, in Heartburn or out. I don't mind what the plot makes her do as long as she stays alive and quirky. (:

Hmm... maybe if we could bring Ricky back into the picture?

Like...maybe Jason could be forced by his parents to marry Morgan again? He and Darcy could move away, leaving Julie vulnerable and heartbroken. Then maybe we'll bring Ricky back, but we'll need someone to play Ricky, wouldn't we..? Hmm...this is confusing.

EDIT: Maybe we could bring some of them to Hogwarts? Like...as Professors, maybe? Oh or maybe counselors? -shrugs-

As for professors, Viola really is not the teaching type. She could be some sort of extra-curric music teacher... or Julie could do arty things and Vi could be an assistant. Or otherwise. It's hard to think of alternate options, especially as I already see everyone as they are right now. =/ I'll give it some thought tomorrow when I have a bit more time though.

He's Julie's ex. High school sweetheart gone wrong basically.

Just a quick paragraph from her bio explaining the whole 'Ricky' situation. So I guess the extra-curricular stuff could work. I could see Julie as a guidance counselor. Ohh or maybe like...a dorm advisor? I know they didn't have those in the books but...there's a lot of things here that they didn't have in the books. Maybe we could put it up in staff and see what they say?

Yep that's good. Viola would either HATE Ricky with a passion, which could be fun. Or she'd sleep with him. (: Your choice ahha. Either way would be a laugh to post.

lol. So that means Julie would either have to lose her apartment or give it up willingly. Maybe she'd be so heartbroken over Jason giving her up for Morgan and Darcy, she'll just decide she needs a change. And if we can find another Jason he could always come back into the picture later, but that leaves Shane and Morgan out of the picture. We've got plans for Vi and Julie in the new plot, but what could we do about Shane and Morgan?

Oh and I would check in with the staff and make sure the 'guidance counselor' type of role is alright. And I have plenty of ideas on the whole "Welcome back Ricky" thing, but I don't want to say anything in case there are any wandering eyes.

(; Um yes, Shane and Morgan. Well if Morgan is now married to Jason, she could G-Mode Jason in some posts if she wants- not actually playing him of course, just giving his input on the whole situation if needed. Although he might not be of course. I'll think more about it tomorrow.

Yup, she'd be a counselor as well. Though she'd probably want to start an art club that closely resembles her old art class, though she'd miss the real thing obviously.

Don't worry about Morgan, without Jason around she will probably be dropped. I had a lot of fun making her of course but I don't like to keep static characters around... Free up some space for me to make Blaise too ;D *sly grin*

Well that's all fine then. So both Morgan and Jason will be gone, so that just leaves Shane's plans. Since Viola won't be singing at the club too much anymore, she could either go during weekends or when she's not teaching (are Professors allowed to leave Hogwarts whenever they like? Dumbledore used to leave the castle often, but I suspect that's just because he was the Headmaster.) if Shane will still be around and the plot can of course continue.

Yeah, professors are at work, and therefore allowed to do anything they like when it's not work hours. Think of Hagrid going down to the pub for a drink and getting the dragon egg in PS. I imagine some weekends and evening they are "on duty" so they can't leave, but they would have free evenings and weekends too. Otherwise no one would want the job if you're working 24/7 ten months of the year.

Haha ok well there you have it. So if Shane chooses to stay (which we'd have to wait for him to get approved anyway) then that's what Vi would end up doing. She'd apparate to the pub any night she's free and their little plot can continue. But if Shane chooses not to stay, then we might have to have Vi sleep with Ricky. Haha I'm kidding.

Oh and Vi, I expect we'll need a starter post before we make the big change. I imagine it'll be a thread in Julie or Vi's apartment after Jason called or stopped by and said he'd decided to get back with his wife. Then I'll need to update the Heartburn thread. I'll have to change a lot, we might even have to end up changing the name.

Perfect. So, Shane will continue to own the club. It can be wherever you like. Whether it be in the muggle or wizarding world, it's all fine. Can't remember where you said it was originally.

So when Shane arrives, Vi's plot can really kick off. Until then, I'll start a Julie/Viola post that kind of catches readers up on everything that should have been posted in the first part of Heartburn. Oh, and now that Jason is gone, do you think the name Heartburn still fits? I think it's still good considering how much Julie will be 'burned' by Jason's departure, but if you have any other ideas for names that'd be great as well. We're changing a lot in this plot, so if you think a new name would be fitting then that's fine.

I think we should keep Heartburn. =D And I'll do a new banner sometime.
